Chapter 3 - Feelings

(MONDAY[7:00AM]) (APRIL 5TH,1985)

{FEELINGS}

{It's been a month since my first transformation and I haven't quite gotten the hand of it.I still can't seem to control the massive power in me.I had always been left alone to do things without anyone's help but now...I've got a reason to keep fighting.If I'm going to protect the one I truly love..I will learn to use the "power"by all means.I am "The Beast".}

(HOUSE OF PERCIVALS)

(DUNCAN'S ROOM)

{Sun rises...birds chirping...alarm rings).

DUNCAN:(Suddenly woke up)What?It's seven in the morning?(He got out of bed in a hurry and cleaned everywhere up).

(Thomas knocks at his door)

THOMAS:Hey kid!It's morning already.Breakfast's ready!Hurry up and don't keep it cold(headed downstairs).

DUNCAN:(Heaved a heavy sigh)Thomas prepared breakfast already(Walked into the bathroom and came out few minutes later).Hmm...early morning(Uses a towel to clean his hair dry)I should probably speed up things(Dressed up...wore his shoes..carried his bag and went downstairs in a speed of light).

(DOWNSTAIRS)

THOMAS:(Surprised)I see you're prepared already and that's really..fantastic.(Smiling)You're getting punctual.With age comes responsibility(Sips a cup of tea).

DUNCAN:(Took a loaf of bread and gulped down his cup of tea)Thanks but no thanks.See ya(walked out of the house and closed the door).

THOMAS:(Disposing the wasted food)Silly boy(Smiling).

{VERILITY}

{7:30AM}

(Duncan entered in a hurry and stood against the wall at the left corner...when he realized no one was watching him...he pressed his wrist-watch)...(Elevator appeared out of a hidden wall).

DUNCAN:(Walked in)You better don't kill me now(Holding his bag with a strong grip)

(Elevator dings and descended below in an incredible speed)...Ah!!!(Opened his eyes wider).

{F.L.E.T.H}

{MAIN BUILDING}

(Two minutes later)

(Elevator arrived and opened)...

DUNCAN:(Vomiting)What the hell is this thing?I knew I should've taken the waterfall route(Kicked it)Ow!(Feeling an awful pain)My bones!

(Robert walked towards him)...

ROBERT:(Holding a chart)It's useless.That is an iron weighing 600,000 kilogram of horseman strength. You can't possibly..you know,break it down(Smiling).

DUNCAN:(Left this presence)You guys are freaks!

ROBERT:(Chuckles)Says a freak.

(JACK'S DOMAIN)

(Duncan knocked at his door)...

JACK:(Inhaled the air)Oh..it's Duncan(Opened the door).

DUNCAN:(Faking a smile)Hello...Jack.

JACK:(In a cold glare)Come on..Spill out the beans.(In a serious tone)What do you want?

DUNCAN:(Folding his hands)Well..I was thinking maybe you could help me out with something not really serious(smiling).

JACK:(Raising an eyebrow)Oh please,don't tell me it's about the Beast.

DUNCAN:(Smiling)You might be right.

JACK:And you said it's not serious.Well,count me out(closed the door).

(He turned around and saw him inside).

DUNCAN:(Sitting on a couch)Okay,It's really serious and that's why I need your help.

JACK:How the hell did you get in?

DUNCAN:(Crossed his legs)Well,you close the door like an old fart.Anyone could get past that.

JACK:(Walked into the kitchen and brewed a coffee)Congratulations,you're starting to creep me out.

DUNCAN:(Stood up)Come on,stop hiding in your fur.

JACK:(Walked to him and pointed at his chest)Wolves don't run away from a fight,Okay?

DUNCAN:(Walks closer to him)Well then,try.

{Building system speaks:You have an announcement at the school hall}

{System beeps:Turns off}...

What exactly is going on?

JACK:(Picked his jacket)I don't know but we should get going(walked out).

DUNCAN:(Frustrated)Seriously?On that damn elevator again!(Ran after him).

JACK:(Smiling)You could've just taken the waterfall path.

DUNCAN:(Hits his hand on his forehead)Damn!I told myself that this morning.

(Jack pushed the elevator button and they both got in)...

{ASSEMBLY HALL}

(7:50AM)

(Students having a conversation with one another...hall crowded with noise making)

MISS BENEDAUX:(Walked up the podium and shouted at them with a mic)Silence!!!

(Speakers echoing...everyone became quiet)

(Smiling)Thank you.The order has something to say to you all(dropped the mic and walked down the podium).

(Students murmuring in confusion)...

HENRY:(Walked up the podium and took a mic)Hello future leaders.

ALL:(Responded)Hi sir Thwart!

HENRY:Today,I have come to give you a good message that has been...you know,requested by our school(smiling).We realized that we have not been going on many travels so as of tomorrow(April 6th,1985),we would go on a trip(expenditure)to Lake Town.These past few years,all we've been doing is teaching you and giving you a good education as required but we have always been short of one thing.That is...(silent for a moment)the way of exploring.The school has put it into consideration to go on a month's trip.A vacation as to say(clears his throat)so...have a nice trip(dropped the mic and left the podium).

(Students excited[Cheering and clapping])...

DUNCAN:(Clapping)A month's trip?(Smiling).

ROBERT:(Clapping)I really didn't expect that(chuckles).

ELENA:(Clapping)Yeah!Wow!(Whistling).

JASON:(Looks at her)This girl has gone nuts!

TYLER:(Clapping)Where's your sense of humour?(Smiling).

JASON:(Clapping)Hey!Don't blame me,Okay?Just trying to be cool(smirk).

JACK:(Clapping)I think we should head back right now.This place ain't fancy(In a serious tone).

DUNCAN:Good idea(walking amongst the crowd).

(They all left the assembly hall)...

{F.L.E.T.H}

{MAIN BUILDING}

(9:52AM)

(They were all busy working.Meanwhile,Elena searches all around for Duncan)...

ELENA:Hmm.. Rob!Know where D is?

ROBERT:(Removed his engineering mask)Nah!Haven't seen him ever since we arrived back here.Knowing him,he would probably be somewhere around here just doing...

ELENA:(Curious)Doing what?

ROBERT:Something!(Nods his head positively)Yeah,Something!

ELENA:Okay(Walks towards Tyler).That was weird.

(Few seconds later)...

Hey Tyler!Seen Duncan yet?

TYLER:(Fixing his bike)Think I saw him at the gallery a while ago(bolting the tyres).

ELENA:(Surprised)Gallery?You don't have an idea on what he's doing,do you?(Curious).

TYLER:Just you know...lighting up his mind(smiled at her).

ELENA:Great!Thanks!(Left in a hurry).

TYLER:You're welcome!(Cleaning his bike)I wonder what's going on between those two(smiling).

(Duncan was reading a novel when Elena suddenly showed up)...

DUNCAN:(Closed the book)Hey(smiling).

ELENA:(Smiled)Been looking for you all day.

DUNCAN:(Looked straight into her eyes)Yeah,really?

ELENA:What's the plan?(Excited).

DUNCAN:(Confused)What...plan?I don't quite understand.

ELENA:(Sits beside him)Scooch.(He shifted a little)Lake Town,okay?The trip!

DUNCAN:(In an awkward manner)Oh!Hmm.. what do you wanna do?(Held her hands).

ELENA:(Thinking)Err...explore?(Raised both of her eyebrows in a selfless manner)Just..anything is cool as long as I get to spend time with you(smiling).

DUNCAN:(Chuckles)Great!We'll do that(smiling at her).

ELENA:(Pecks him)Just wanted to check on you.I have to get back to work(winks at him).

DUNCAN:(Surprised)You're still building it?

ELENA:(Smiling)Yeah!It's not something that can be done in a day.

DUNCAN:(Smiling)Yeah..you're a nerd after all.I can't wait to see it.

ELENA:(Blew a kiss towards him)Sure.Thanks for the boost of confidence.(She left the gallery).

DUNCAN:(Smiled)Smart girl.

(He continued his novel)...

{THE RED MOUNTAIN}

{NIGHTBLOOD}

(They are having a sacred meeting)...

??:(In a serious tone)Hello,my mighty soldiers!(Stood in front of the council table)

WARRIORS:(Bows down)All hail the Commander!Slayer of mankind.

??:(Sat on his throne)Rise...my blood warriors(In a serious tone).

(They stood up)....

Sit!(They all sat down)As you all know,our world is filled with terrible danger.Mutants,Demons,Beasts,Witches and Wizards,Werewolves,Vampires...and the most dangerous of them all(in a cold glare)a Nectorx.You all know they are old races that once lived in our world.If you remember well,we burnt down a village once to finally destroy the clan of Percivals.We thought we had killed them all but our supernatural tracker has received a signal.A powerful force with the energy of a Beast!(Clinched his fists)The last survivor has been found.We need to destroy them all before they come back to regroup.I hereby assign skilled Nightblood Warriors to trace this source and eliminate the Beast.I want his head brought before me in two days(In a murderous tone).

WARRIORS:(They all bow)As you wish,Lord Blood!

(He stood up and left their presence)...

(Suspenseful music playing)..

(VERILITY)

[MATHS CLASS]

(2:30PM)

(About ten minutes for the class to come to an end)...

BECK:Two "y" plus Three "x" equals ten.Solve the equation and turn in your sheets in the next two minutes(Sat down).

(Students murmuring)...

(Raising an eyebrow)Oh please...don't tell me you have no idea about solving that.The question involved is rather..too simple(in a serious tone).

(Duncan stoop up)...

DUNCAN:Uhm...excuse me Sir!If you wouldn't mind,can I...(pointing at the board).

BECK:(Smiliing in a cunning way)Our very own silent marshall.Sure,let's see what you can do.

ELENA:(Whispering)What are you trying to prove?He's trying to lure you into a trap.

DUNCAN:(Whispering)Really?And how do you know that?

ELENA:(Raised an eyebrow)Remember?(Whispering).

DUNCAN:(Whispering)You being a Psychic doesn't justify this.

BECK:(Crossed his legs on the table)Time is running Percival.(In a cunning manner).

ROBERT:(Whispers)You sure you wanna do this?

DUNCAN:(Walked up to the board and collected a writing material)Sorry I kept you waiting Sir.

JACK:(Covered his face with his hands)What an asshole.

(Few seconds later)....

Excuse me Sir!My final answers are minus two whole number,one over two and two.

BECK:(Clapping and Laughing)Bravo,Mr Percival!Brilliant.(In a serious tone)How did you get past the equation?

DUNCAN:I figured you gave a wrong one.

BECK:(Pretending)A wrong one?(In a cold way)Can you prove it?

DUNCAN:We can't have two different letters in a quadratic equation.I believe you purposely did it to lure me into a trap.

BECK:(Snaps his fingers)Hmm...I love your enthusiasm(smiling).(Into his ear)Many students fell into this same trap and you...managed to see through it.Who are you exactly,Mr Percival?(In a serious tone).

ELENA:(Whispering to Robert)I wonder what he's saying to him.

ROBERT:(Whispers)I really hate that man.

ELENA:(Whispers)Can you hear their conversation?

ROBERT:(In a serious tone)He's got eyes on Duncan.

(Bell rings...class dismissed).

BECK:Well...this is the end of the class.I'm giving you an assignment on page 760 of Universal Mathematical Mastering Textbook for young Mathematicians.Exercise 732,the first ten questions.Turn in your assignments by tomorrow(he was about to leave)...

ELENA:(Reminded him)We won't be having school tomorrow Sir.

BECK:That's right!Turn them in by Wednesday(he left).

JASON:(Furious)I feel like breaking his jaw.

TYLER:(Smiling)Well,I can call him back if you don't mind.

(They all laugh at Jason)...

{HOUSE OF PERCIVALS}

(3 HOURS LATER)

(Duncan entered the house)....

DUNCAN:Tom!I'm In!I'm home.(Synchronized the environment and found a letter on the table)What's that?(Picked it up and opened it)He's not gonna be home for a few days.Wonder where we went off to.(He went to his room).

(DUNCAN'S ROOM)

(Dropped his jacket and his bag)...

DUNCAN:(On his bed)Looks like it's gonna be only me here.I could hang out with Robert or Tyler.(Stomach grumbling)I should get something to eat(stood up and headed downstairs).

(KITCHEN)

(Looking at the food materials)...

DUNCAN:(Thinking)Now...what should I cook?(Heaved a heavy sigh)Maybe I should just order Pizza.

(He sat on the couch)...

(Phone rings)...

DUNCAN:Thomas?(Checked it and found out it was)...Elena!(Smiling).

(He picked it)...(Phone conversation)...

Hey!What's up?

ELENA:Just wanted to check on you.Everything okay?(Curious).

DUNCAN:Well..guess what?I'm totally doomed.

ELENA:(Worried)Why?What's going on?

DUNCAN:Tom is not gonna be home for a few days and I'm kind of feeling lonely and...

ELENA:(Smiling)Bored?

DUNCAN:Yeah..kinda(smiling)and I'm really starving right now.

ELENA:(Curious)You're short of supply?

DUNCAN:Nah!Just...don't worry,okay?I'll sort it out.Gonna order pizza in a moment.

ELENA:(Anxious)Well..since we are both living alone at the moment,care if I stalk you for today?

DUNCAN:(Smiling)A sleep over?

ELENA:(Giggling)Yeah.Can I come over?

DUNCAN:(Smiling)Well..Yeah.Be my guest.

ELENA:Uhm..be there in thirty minutes.

DUNCAN:(Curious)And how are you gonna get to my house?

ELENA:(Smiling)I've got a map,okay?Besides,we're connected.

DUNCAN:Anyway,don't be surprised when you see my environment(smiling).

ELENA:Wait..it's not creepy,is it?

DUNCAN:(Chuckles)Uhm...you're gonna find out soon enough.

ELENA:Okay!Thirty minutes.

DUNCAN:Be expecting ya.

ELENA:And don't you dare order any damn Pizza till I get there(in a serious tone).

DUNCAN:(In a blank expression)Duh!What am I gonna eat?

ELENA:(Smiling)You're my boyfriend.Gotta keep you alive,right?

DUNCAN:(Turned on the T.v.)Well then,make me something really delicious.

ELENA:(Smiling)You're gonna get it young man,okay?

DUNCAN:Yeah!I'll be right here(smiling).

ELENA:Hmm hmm(pushed the red button).

(Phone beeps...conversation ends)...

DUNCAN:(Switching the channels)Why won't they ever show something good?(Frustrated).

(6:00PM)

(Duncan had slept off)...

(Knocks at the door)...

DUNCAN:(Suddenly woke up and stumbled on the floor)Coming!(He ran to the door and opened it).Hey(smiling at her).

ELENA:(Observed him)Were you sleeping?(Curious).

DUNCAN:(Crossed his hands negatively)Sleeping?No,no,no!Been up all day waiting for you(fake smile).

ELENA:(Walked inside and left him at the door)You know you're so cute when you tell lies(smiling).

DUNCAN:(Closed the door)Was I..was I lying?(Pointing at his face).

ELENA:(Sat down)I'm a Psychic,remember?(Raised one of her eyebrows).

DUNCAN:(Joking)Well..that doesn't give you a ticket to see through me.

(He sat down beside her)...

ELENA:(smiling)You're really right,you know?

DUNCAN:(Confused)About what?

ELENA:(Looking around)This place.(Laughing)You didn't tell me you were living in a forest.

DUNCAN:(Looking straight into her eyes)Well,you didn't ask.(Placed his arms around her shoulder)Besides,it's not my fault.Tom doesn't like associating with the outside world.

ELENA:(Smiling)I'm sure he's probably keeping you away from the world to protect you.

DUNCAN:(Kissed her forehead)But he was not able to keep us apart.

ELENA:(Holding his face)'Cause we're connected(looking straight into his eyes).

DUNCAN:(Looking straight into her eyes)I want you to promise me you'll never leave me.

ELENA:(Pecks him)As long as I'm alive and I still breathe,I'll never leave your side(smiling).

DUNCAN:(Kissed her)I love you,Elena Stacy(smiling at her).

ELENA:(Smiling)I love you too,Duncan Percival even If you could be a jerk sometimes(placed her head on this chest).

{DUNCAN'S ROOM}

(APRIL 6TH,1985)

(7:00AM)

(Alarm rings)...(Elena woke up)...

ELENA:(Opening her eyes(Blurry))It's seven already?(Mumbling).

(She opened her eyes and saw no one)...

Duncan.Where could he be?(She stood up and headed downstairs in Pyjamas).

(DOWNSTAIRS)

(She walked into the kitchen and saw him)...

DUNCAN:(Frying pastries)I have to finish up before she wakes up.

(In an attempt to raise the pastries and turn it around,its oil spilled on his hand)Ow!(Blowing air on it).

(THE frying pan was about to drop but Elena caught it)...

ELENA:(Placed it on top of the basin)Hey,you okay?(Worried).

(Checking on his wound)I'm sure it must be hurting.You should've allowed me to make breakfast instead(Blowing air on it).

DUNCAN:(Staring at her)...

ELENA:This is so bad.Lemme get something to...

(His wound healed up in a speed of light)...

bandage..it..up(surprised).

DUNCAN:(Staring at her)What's wrong?

ELENA:(Looking straight into his eyes with a surprised look)Your wound.It's completely healed.

DUNCAN:(Noticed it)Wow!It's gone(smiling).

ELENA:(Sigh)Anyway,don't go doing that for me..ever again(In a concerned manner)

DUNCAN:(Raised an eyebrow)Why?Were you scared?(Smiling).

ELENA:(Sits on a couch)And why would I be?

DUNCAN:(Smiling)Oh really?This is your way of taking care of me.You're more like...like hurting me.Twisting my feelings.

ELENA:(Facing another direction)Well,you brought it upon yourself.

DUNCAN:(Looking at the roof)Do I at least have the right to cheat on you?

ELENA:(Smiling)Looks like you don't wanna live to see another day.Do you,Duncan Percival?

DUNCAN:(Laughing)You look extraordinarily cool..and cute when you threaten.

ELENA:(Winks at him)Well..I got that from you.

DUNCAN:Sly girl!Don't let me catch you(chasing her around the house).

(Both throwing pillows at each other)...

{VERILITY}

(ASSEMBLY HALL)

(9:00AM)

MISS BENEDAUX:We'll all be going right now.I hope you're all prepared?

ALL:Yes Miss Benedaux!

MISS BENEDAUX:The Order still had some businesses to attend to so he won't be joining us right now but he would come along later.You all should remember,this is a month's trip and we wouldn't want anyone to feel outcasted so you all treat one another as a family over there.Am I clear?

ALL:(In Response)Yes Miss Benedaux.

(Bus arrived)....

MISS BENEDAUX:Now move on.The bus is here.We wouldn't want to delay the trip.

(They all rushed inside the bus)...

{LAKE TOWN}

(9:40PM)

(Bus finally arrived at Lake Town and entered their booked hotel park)....

(Bus stopped..engine powering down)...

DUNCAN:(Opening his eyes)Are we here already?(Curious).

MISS BENEDAUX:(Walking to and fro in the bus)We are here already!Sleeping time's over!Adventure time begins!

(Students mumbling)...

(They all got down from the bus)...

(Standing in front of them)We booked an hotel here so what I'm gonna need you all to do right now is to walk down that path then turn at a left corner...you'll see a signboard of "Walker's Path.Follow it and you'll see the hotel straight ahead.

HORDOR:Excuse me Ma'am,I've got a question(came forward).

MISS BENEDAUX:(Smirk)Go on,Speak Mr Brandon.

HORDOR:You're not coming along,are you?

MISS BENEDAUX:Yes,you're correct.We teachers booked a separate hotel(smiling).

HORDOR:I'm sorry Ma'am.Mind if I ask who'll lead us there?I'm not really good with directions.Most of us aren't.

MISS BENEDAUX:Who'll volunteer?

(They all stepped backwards)...

Mr Dickson,help us out here(smiling).Everyone knows that you're the smartest kid in school so you must be good with...you know,maps.

TYLER:(Frustrated)Why me?

MISS BENEDAUX:(Making it a dumb expression)'Cause it's you.Help us out,will you?(smiling).

TYLER:But...

HORDOR:You gotta do it bro...unless you want us to spend the night out here in this harsh weather condition(trying to convince him).

TYLER:(Frustrated)Fine.I'll do it.

(He walked towards the direction)...

(They all followed him)...

{NOBLE FRONTAGE}

(5 MINUTES LATER)

(They all arrived at the hotel)...

TYLER:(Faced them all)And...here we are(frustrated).

{They passed him by and entered the hotel in a hurry except for Duncan and Elena...}

You guys coming in or not?(With a frustrated look)...

DUNCAN:(Smiling)Uhm.. still gonna hang out for a while.

ELENA:(Puts on her jacket)Still have to buy some things.

TYLER:(Moved closer to them)Why do I feel like there's something going on between you two?(In a stern look).

BOTH:(In response)No!

TYLER:(Yawning)By the way,I'm tired.I'm gonna go in now so if you're both done with this "outside stuff",you know the way in(entered the hotel).

(After a moment)...

DUNCAN:(Smiling at her)Shall we?

ELENA:(Wrapped her hands tightly around his shoulder)Yes please(smiling at him).

DUNCAN:(Inhaled and exhaled)Here we go.

(He carried her and sped off in a speed of light)...

{CURSED BRIDGE}

(9:42PM)

(Holding hands together...walking through the bridge)...

ELENA:(Looking at the stars)You know there's a reason why they call it the "Cursed Bridge".

DUNCAN:(Curious)Yeah.Why?

(They stopped walking)...

ELENA:This was where the cursed Demon"ZORDAK" killed the only woman he ever loved.A Nectorx whom he sacrificed in order to gain immortality.The dark soul consumed him.That was the price he had to pay for his betrayal.He was cursed(In a serious tone).

DUNCAN:(Curious)What happened to him next?

ELENA:(Looking straight into his eyes)He was...

(Duncan sensed dark energy coming towards them)...

DUNCAN:(Eyes glow red)Behind me!(In a Monstrous tone).

(He used himself as a shield)...

(Assassins in a red armour,masked appears)

(One was about to kill Elena but Duncan held the blade bare-handed)...

What do you want?(In a Monstrous tone).

NIGHTBLOOD ASSASSIN:(Raised his sword)Alas!We've found you..Percival.

DUNCAN:(Sensed six of them)Final warning!Stay away!(In a Monstrous tone).

(Eyes glow red)...

(They tried to attack but the bridge's lights went off)...

(Few minutes later)...

(He killed them all)...

BEAST:(Growling)...

ELENA:(Moving closer to him)Dun..can?(Scared)..

BEAST:(Faced her direction)...(Eyes glow red)...(Growling)...

ELENA:(Moved closer to him and embraced him)Duncan!It's okay.It's over now.I'm sorry.

(He transformed back)...

DUNCAN:(Tears dropping)Elena.. what have I done?

ELENA:(Touching his face)Look at me,look at me D!You did what you had to do.They tried to kill us.It's not your fault(trying to calm him down).

DUNCAN:(Trying to explain to her)No,you don't get it!They found me!

ELENA:(Curious and terrified)What do you mean?Who are"they"?

DUNCAN:(Tears dropping)Tom told me about them.They killed my family.They call themselves the Nightblood Warriors and they're looking for me because I'm the last of my kind.

ELENA:(Trying to touch him)Duncan...

(He took a step backwards)...

DUNCAN:Elena...I'm a Beast and as long as I'm here...as long as we are together,you're not safe.They'll hunt us down wherever we go.They won't hesitate to kill us whenever they get the chance.You'll never live a peaceful life as long as you're with me(in a serious tone).

ELENA:(Embraced him)I'm willing to take my chances.I promised I'll never leave.I'm ready to face whatever obstacle is thrown our way.I love you Duncan Percival and nothing can ever change that.I can't imagine a world without you in it(tears dropping).

DUNCAN:(Kissed her)I'm not gonna lose you.Not now or ever.I love you too Elena Stacy.

(Suspenseful music playing)....

(Bad dream-Ruelle)...
