Blame

Amelia had decided to try to find a way to please the noblewoman since she wasn't comfortable with the red head in her bed chamber who was obviously seething with jealousy. Ever since their first encounter, Lucy had not been happy with Amelias presence which was somewhat of a surprise to see her waiting at the doorway.

With her palms sweating, Amelia wiped her hands along her dress as she walked next to the noblewoman who seemed disinterested in the lowly slave next to her. She thought of excuses to rid herself of this tortuous time, but none of her thoughts seemed plausible.

"Do you not have manners?" Lucy demanded glaring at Amelia from the side. The noblewoman stopped in place Turing to her side as if burning a hole into Amelias head.

Confused, Amelia looked around realizing she was walking directly beside the noble. She knew the rules about their classes, but she had meant no disrespect to Lady Lucy.

Bowing her head and stepping backwards, the girl said a soft apology hoping Lucy wouldn't make things more difficult. Neither of them wanted to be associating.

Huffing at the slaves ignorance, Lucy continued barely ahead of Amelia walking around the manor. She usually wasn't able to see Titus' home due to their lack of a relationship, but the blonde was a good excuse for her to wander around without any consequences. This part of the manor was restricted even to the servants unless specifically told to come and clean. It was a rare opportunity to snoop around.

"If I may ask milady, what brought you to this part of the empire?" Amelia inquired looking slightly ahead toward Lucy who continued to act like the lady of the house. She had no idea what would make Lucy appear here since she had no importance to the prince.

"The Prince and I have things to discuss before our union." Lucy emphasized the last word making it clear to the concubine that she was going to be with the Prince no matter who was in the way. A small smirk formed on her perfectly painted lips as she thought about the future she planned for her and Titus. She had decided to pay him a visit to persuade him of a relationship.

"Your union?" Mia asked confused since Isabella had told her that her proposal was once again rejected. "Are you and Prince Titus engaged?"

It seemed Lucy was here as a guest which surprised the young girl. The maid had told her about how Titus had no interest in the noble, but it seemed as though the information was wrong.

"Things are still being discussed. It's not appropriate to talk about such things when it isn't official." Lucy said with a sigh. "Trust me, you will know soon enough. Titus and I are said to be destined for one another."

Scrunching her brows, Amelia didn't know how to respond. She knew the prince took no interest in Lucy from the interactions she saw, but she had called him by his name meaning they had to be somewhat intimate.

"Congratulations milady." Mia praised realizing that this could possibly be good news. But she also knew deep down she would need to discuss this with Isabella since the prince may be moving on after all.

"Yes." Lucy drawled glancing at the girl. "Things will change around that time."

A quick look at Mia, Lucy saw how she had a red tint to her cheeks which seemed almost natural, but the girl took no care in her appearance since she had no makeup upon her face. She didn't act like someone worthy to be at the side of Titus which surprised Lucy on how she made such an impact involving the man she had loved her whole life.

Shaking her head, Lucy couldn't possibly understand how Titus was able to keep just an insufferable person next to him. The blonde was an absolute bore. But her plan was to cause an 'accident' to solve the situation of her current company.

Knowing that Lucy did not enjoy the conversation, Mia kept her mouth shut and began to look around the part of the manor she hadn't seen yet. Although it had been weeks, the girl wished to stay away from any possible interaction with Titus making her curious about the manor. But she never left her room except to join Isabella on short walks during her weekly routines.

But the farther they walked, Amelia realized this was the restricted part of the manor thinking about the glass room which wasn't to much further. Titus had told Amelia that she was allowed here since she was in charge of taking care of his white roses, but she wasn't sure about bringing the noblewoman along to such a special place to the prince.

"Well, I must say I am surprised to see the two of you together." Came a baritone voice across the way.

Titus was leaned against the wall looking directing at Amelia who lowered her eyes not wanting Lucy to become even more jealous due to the prince's obvious rude behavior. He was in his study as he heard footsteps approaching, but they were too light to belong to his butler making him curious if his flower came to visit.

At first, Titus smiled at the thought until he noticed the noblewoman walking ahead of Amelia causing him to frown. Although their classes were different, Amelia deserved more respect than the red head who was visiting unannounced.

"I must apologize for the unpleasant company." Titus sighed as he walked toward the women. He couldn't help but wonder if Amelia even knew which part of the manor she was walking. Even though her room was on his side, she always left the restricted area to visit places in the castle where the maids were. She had yet to take care of his roses since she was just tasked with it.

Lucy laughed waving her hand dismissing the princes apology. She couldn't believe a Royal was actually apologizing for such a small thing. She knew deep down how big of a step this was since she thought the slave was important to Titus.

"There's no need to apologize my Lord. She isn't as annoying as most concubines I've had the unfortunate pleasure to know. You obviously have good taste."

Lucy looked at Amelia giving her a wide grin filled with nothing but malice. Even though it appeared to be a compliment, Amelia could sense the hate. Ignoring the urge to hit the noblewoman, Amelia kept her stance frozen.

"The unpleasant company I was referring to wasn't Amelia." Titus said as he stood directly in front of his concubine who refused to meet his eyes. "Have you been unkind to her Lucy?"

Titus immediately looked at the noble with narrowed eyes with a deadly gaze causing Lucy to shake. Not only had he just offended her, but she felt the temperature in the room drop due to his building anger.

It didn't go unnoticed to him how quiet and reserved his jewel was acting. Even if Lucy wasn't rude to the girl, he knew that the situation was probably uncomfortable for his flower.

"No milord, I was-"

"What are you doing wandering my castle Lucy? I do not remember giving you permission to come visit. And yet, here you are around my chambers…Such a stunt can have deadly consequences." Titus said loudly.

Trying to think of a way to put blame on Amelia, Lucy pointed at the blonde. "She insisted on walking around and asked for me to join your highness. I would never purposely walk around your chambers, but I did not want to offend your concubine! She seemed so lonely and did not inform me of where I was. I apologize my lord. She should not have brought me here! She should also know better to come here as well!"

"Amelia has permission to be everywhere upon the manor. You do not." Titus stated looking back at his rose who had a neutral expression upon her beautiful face. "But if my rose ask you to escort her, I can not be upset. But I wish she would prefer my company."

Amelia sighed and saw the smirk that had formed on the princes face.

Lucy internally frowned as she heard the prince compare her to an escort maid. Just how did she gain Prince Titus' affections?
