Myraid of Magic

"Not Qualified?"

After hearing what Mr White said, Aiden mouthed twitched. He thought that since the latter decided to talk about this, he would somehow try to console the people who were unable to get any power. After all, who wouldn't want to be consoled an pampered after going through a hard time.

However, it seems like he was wrong after all. Instead of trying to placate the students who wouldn't be able to get superpowers, he decided to anger them. Aiden could imagine the reactions of the students who weren't really confident in themselves.

And just as he guessed, the students who weren't very confident in themselves —which accounted for almost ninety percent of the students — immediately burst into an uproar when hey heard the principal's words.

Even though this was the first time they had participated in the exams themselves; Many of them had senior brothers and sister who had partaken in the exams. And from what they learnt from their seniors, they knew that all the hosts that came around always tried to console the people who failed to receive any superpower.

But what was the principal doing? He was doing the exact opposite of what he was expected to do! What was his goal of doing such a thing? Did he want to cause a conflict with his words?

"Cough... Cough... Either way, if you were able to get a superpower or not, what matters is the fact that you become great citizens in the future! These are the only things I would like to tell you. If you take it or not, I don't really care about that. I have already fulfilled what I have to do!" Ignoring the anger in the students' eyes, Mr White continued, "Anyway, it is time for the start of the ceremony and I am going to explain the rules now!"

After saying that, Mr White gestured with his hand and one of the people behind him immediately moved. A moment, the person appeared behind Mr White again before muttering some words in his ears.

"Strong!" Aiden couldn't help but gasp when he saw the man move. Even though Aiden had been in this world for a week now, he had experienced alot of things. These things included things that were deemed impossible in his world like humans who could fly, people with superspeed which exceeded any human being in his former world.

At this moment, things like these had already become common sight for Aiden and he had seen alot of them. Even so, the speed that the man used to move had surprised him. It was the first time he was seeing someone move so fast. Without doubt this man's speed was the fastest speed he had seen in his life.

*********

After the man returned, Mr White turned his eyes back to the crowd. After scanning through the crowd as if he was searching for something, he nodded his head in satisfaction.

"As you all know, The magic Awakening Exams isn't really a test. It is more like a ceremony to welcome mages into the society. How do we take the exams then? " at this moment, Mr white paused for a while before continuing with his speech, "A moment from now, a huge gate would appear in the there," said Mr White pointing at the huge space right beside the stage that had been mounted for the event.

"When the gate appears, you would have to jump into the gate where you would be transferred to the myriad of magic! As for the rest, I hope you know what would happen!" Mr White said before gesturing at the previous man again.

.......

'Know what to do?'

Hearing Mr White's words, Aiden nearly spurted blood out of anger. I have been waiting for you to explain how we would take the exams! What do you mean by know what to do? Do you think everyone here knows what you are talking about?

Moreover, you talked about it as if it was common knowledge that everyone should know!

Aiden had decided against researching how the exams would be taken since Ace told him it would be explained when they got to school. He never expected to hear such words. He had no idea on what to do after he enters the gate. In fact, he didn't even know what the myriad of magic was.

How was he supposed to know what to do then? If he had known that this is the steps that they would be providing him, he would have researched it. At least, he would have gotten authentic and conceptual information and not 'you know what to do' for an answer.

'I can still ask Ace!'

Aiden thought but he shook his head in the next moment. Ever since he arrived in this world about a week ago, he has been asking the most ridiculous questions ever. Ace had taken his time to answer all of them. Nevertheless, even though this was working, Ace had began to suspect him. This was something he didn't want to happen.

'But if I dont ask him then who do I ask then? No I must ask him. After all, It would be better to ask no that to suffer later. Moreover, I can always lie about my condition. Even though Ace isn't dumb, he should understand that I dont want to talk about it!'

Aiden thought as he steeled his heart to ask. Turning towards Ace, Aiden asked, "Ace, what are we supposed to do when we enter the ?"

Ace turned to look at him with a face of disbelief, clearly shocked by his question. A moment later, he let out a sigh before speaking, "Sigh, Are you telling me that you don't know what to do?"

Aiden nodded.

"Sigh, guess that I would be the one to explain then. But before that, if there is anything wrong with you, you can tell me. There is no problem with that. However, if you dont want to talk about it then I wont force you either," Ace said, "The first thing we have to do is....."

Yet, before Ace could finish his sentence, Ace and Aiden heard a slight rumble beneath their feet. At first, it started out as a slight rumble before quickly growing into the size of an earthquake! Soon enough, the rumbling stopped but then a voice of disbelief sounded behind Aiden and Ace. Turning their heads to the source they saw a classmate of theirs pointing in a direction with eyes full of disbelief.

Following the hands of the person, Aiden and Ace turned their heads in the direction the fellow was pointing.

"This...."

A moment later, Ace and Aiden's mouths twitched as they stared at the thing in front of them with pure terror.

********

At this moment, all the students on the pitch were looking at the thing in front of them with pure terror. Looking at the reactions of the students, Mr White couldn't help but chuckle. Even though he didn't react the way they were reacting the first time he saw the 'thing' he was still shocked by it.

In front of the students was a thousand metre tall gate that seemed to be climbing the heavens. The sheer size of the door alone was enough to send many people into despair.

"What the hell is that?" Aiden frowned when he saw the gate suddenly appear in the sky. The gate was simply too huge. It spanned around 500 metres in width alone. Moreover, it was about 1000 metres tall. That was almost reaching to the heavens!

Even though the gate was huge, it wasn't the thing that made everyone fall into despair. What made everyone fall in despair was the sheer aura it emanated. it's aura felt like that of a mountain —a living mountain.

Yes, the aura of the huge door felt like that of a living thing that could make its own could decisions. Just from looking at it, one could figure out that the door wasn't just a normal door. It was something more mystical.

"This is the door that leads to the myriad of magic,; The Gate of Magic!" Mr White chuckled when he saw the reactions of the students. They couldn't be blamed after all, when he first saw it too, he was surprised by it's living aura.

"Gate of Life? So it's the gate of life. No wonder the size. When my siblings told me about it, I couldn't believe it but it seems like it was real after all!"

Hearing Mr White's words, the crowd seemed to have come into a realization. They had all heard of the magic gate which transported humans into the myriad of magic. However, they never expected it to be so great!

"Anyway, We are going to activate the myriad of formations in a moment. Don't forget what you are supposed to do!" Mr White said as he signalled the man behind him.

The man moved again and a moment later he appeared with a token in his hands. Crushing the token, the door in the sky immediately let out a loud BOOM before slowly opening up.

And with that, the Magic Awakening Ceremony had commenced!!!!
