The Lifegivers

My right hand is so amazing that it can make any inanimate objects come to life. Crazy, right? Do you think I’m god? Nah, I'm just a freshman in college with all his problems. However, my brother sucks. He's a selfish prick who wants to see the world burn. Looks like I have to use my power to stop him. That must be really sucks. By the way, my name is Evan. I'm an alien from a planet called Xionezsoqiuvenoririrexunaxiantiqinoverizovadusuruxivurunzezex. Being an alien is also sucks.

Slowly, Tony opened the door to his son's room. What he sees first is a shirtless muscular man, wearing triangular that so shorts like an underwear, and with a cute lobster hood on his head. That lobster man continued to spread his arms. His mouth kept opening and his eyes bulged. It was as if he was screaming, but not a single word came out of his mouth.

Perhaps, this was the most absurd sight Tony had ever seen in his life. It even outshines the bizarre forms of aliens he has ever encountered. Tony knew that his son could not bring the creature to campus. However, he's still felt very uncomfortable with this situation.

Shaking his head, the old man closed the door and left. Then, he sat down in the living room. His chin rested on his linked fingers, his eyes closed, and his mouth let out a deep sigh. He hoped that that lobster man would not do anything troublesome.

For the umpteenth time, Evan gave a big yawn. His steps towards the campus building were so limp. He still wants to sleep. However, just now Kara and Shane dragged Evan out of bed. The two of them seemed to have a hunch that Evan wouldn't go to college the day after the battle with monsters.

"Hey, cheer up! It's still early!" Kara patted the young man's back so hard that the sound caught the attention of the passing students.

Evan immediately writhed in pain. "You bull-power girl! It hurts, you know!"

"What did you say!? You really want me to hit you again, huh!? " Kara gave a fierce glare.

"It wasn't you who was fighting, right? Why are you looking so tired, Evan?" Shane who was walking beside Evan asked.

Evan took a deep breath. His steps became limper. "It's because of that bastard lobster creature! He's not screaming, but his movements are disturbing my sleep! Even when my eyes were closed, I could still hear the sound of his footsteps and the gust of wind from his two hands' moves! When I told him to stop, he just did it for a moment! He can't stay silent for long!"

"It's your own fault to make something like that. You should make a pretty girl again." Shane replied carelessly.

"I've told you so many times, I will do that if I have control over my power! Before this, I certainly don't want to be hugged by an old man with pink hair!"

"That's Olivia." Suddenly Kara chimed. Near the entrance to the campus building, Olivia was seen chatting with several other girls.

Shane's expression immediately changed. He seemed very unhappy with what had happened. The young man chuckled, "Wow, it must be fun yesterday to date such a beautiful girl. I'm very very very fucking happy for you, brother."

A few seconds passed. Not hearing any answer from Evan, Kara and Shane turned to their best friend. But, they didn't see anyone. The two of them then looked back, immediately found Evan running so fast like a wild boar being chased by a predator.

Under a large tree in the corner of the parking lot, Evan leaned over his knees, gasping for breath. It wasn't because he was running fast, but because of the shock he got from seeing that girl. Because of the incident with the two monsters in the mafia's lair yesterday, Evan forgot about Olivia.

He was really determined to stay away from the aliens. He did not want his life to be more troublesome. Having superpowers alone made it difficult for him, let alone dealing with aliens.

Straightening himself up, Evan pulled out his cell phone that was ringing from his backpack. He then picked up a call from Shane.

"She's fucking alien, mate," Evan answered quickly before Shane could speak. "Let me know when he's out of sight."

After saying that, Evan hung up the call.

While Shane called Evan with the cellphone, Kara came to Olivia, who was chuckling at the conversation between her two friends.

"Good morning, Olivia." Kara gave her the friendliest smile. "Can I talk to you now?"

"Hi, Kara." Olivia smiled too. "Of course."

"I'll borrow Olivia for a moment, girls," Kara says to two of Olivia's friends, then gestures for the girl with the mole to follow her.

Kara and Olivia then headed to a corner of the campus yard which was far from the students. Kara tried to ignore the whispers of Olivia's two friends behind her. There's no point scolding them.

"You definitely want to ask about Evan, right?" Olivia asked when the two of them had gotten far enough from the crowd. "I actually saw him running away earlier."

Folding her arms over her chest, Kara cleared her throat a little. "What happened yesterday?"

"Maybe, yesterday I made him uncomfortable with me?" Olivia widened her smile.

Kara's eyes narrowed. "Can you explain further what you mean?"

"That is not important." Olivia sighed softly and approached Kara. "Because actually, I'm not chatting with you because of Evan."

"But you keep asking about Evan." Kara raised an eyebrow,

Olivia moved her fingers gently to the cheek of the girl in front of her. "Because I don't know what topic to chat with you other than Evan. I also don't want to make you feel uncomfortable if I talk about my real intention …. Ah, I've always liked this face. You really look like a beautiful doll."

Kara lowered Olivia's hand on her face, then took a deep breath. "Aah, somehow I feel the urgency to hit you."

"Just kidding! I don't have feelings for you!" Olivia burst out laughing. "Class is about to start! Bye!"

Olivia leaves before Kara can say anything.

"Why is she like Evan who likes to joke like that?" Kara grumbled in annoyance, watching the girl move away.

Instead of sitting in the classroom, Evan, Shane, and Kara sat in an empty cafeteria.

"This is because we were looking for you, we were late for class and kicked out, Evan." Kara snorted as she folded her arms across her chest.

Evan who was sitting in the middle took a deep breath. "How many times have you said that, Kara?"

"So, Olivia is really an alien?" Shane asked.

"How many times have you asked me like that, Shane?" Taking another breath, Evan pulled out his cell phone. "I forgot to ask Mr. Jon about Olivia. I need to know more about her, so I can anticipate if I have to deal with her again."

"What if she was not recorded in the data? What if she just wants to live a normal life as a student. If you ask Mr. Jon, her life could be ruined then." Shane shrugged.

Evan paused for a moment. He understood what it was like to want a normal life. Even though Evan didn't want anything to do with Olivia, that didn't mean he wanted to ruin her life. Therefore, Evan chose to lower his cellphone.

"My advice to you, don't be near that damn girl anymore." Kara snorted again. His tone rose a little. "I have a bad feeling about her."

"Yes, ma'am," Evan answered with a yawn.
