CHAPTER 26: NOSTALGIA

In Japan...

"Dad, our little sister is in danger. What are we going to do? The enemy we are facing this time is not an easy target. You know we can't lose her for the second time." Chang Hou, the second brother said.

"Yeah, dad. We missed almost eighteen years of her life. We promised that we will make up for those years and we can't just sit down and wait for that Huan Kai guy to attack her." Chang Jing, the eldest brother commented.

Chang Haoyu looked at his two other sons who were twins, and sighed .

"Kim, what do you think?" He asked one of them.

"I think Lim and I should go to China and stay with siz . Even though you had already placed guards to protect her from the shadows, we still need to be wary because we can't trust anyone at a time like this. Like second brother said, we can't lose her for the second time."

Chang Haoyu nodded as indication that he had agreed to his suggestion.

"Don't let your mother know this, otherwise..."

"Otherwise what?" A voice resounded as a woman entered the study and settled herself on one of the couches.

The five men in the room all stood up in shock.

"Honey, what are you doing here?" Chang Haoyu asked as he headed to the couch and sat next to her.

"So what were you talking about and what should I not know?" Gia Ming asked as she looked at them.

"Uuh...mom. I just remembered, I ..I have an assignment that dad gave me yesterday but I didn't finish. Let me go and do it right away. " Chang Hou said as he stood up, attempting to leave the room and headed towards the door.

"Sit down." Chang Hou turned around and sat down obediently .

"There is something you are all hiding from me. What is it? And don't even dare to lie to me, otherwise...." Gia Ming said as he looked at her husband.

"You see, honey, um...our daughter's life ...is in ...danger."

"Who is after her life?" She asked calmly.

"Huan Kai."

Gia Kim remained silent. The silence dragged on for two minutes before she stood up and headed towards the door surprising the five men. She closed the door behind her and headed to the master bedroom. She changed into a black tank top, black leather pants and topped it with a brown leather jacket and black boots. From behind a painting she took a desert eagle gun and placed it on her waist band. She might have five grown up children but she still got her badass energy in her.

The door suddenly opened and Chang Haoyu entered the room.

"Honey, let's first calm down and do this when we are sober.Okay?"

"I am sober."She simply answered as she adjusted the painting .Everytime she said that she was sober, he knew that a storm was brewing inside her. The last time he had seen her in this state was twenty four years ago when he told her the news of their daughter being kidnapped from the hospital a night after she gave birth.

"But...you can't just go to their base all of a sudden...alone."

"Who said am going to their base?"

"You are not?"

" Of course not. I'm going for training."

"Training? Oh...I will ask my men to prepare targets for you."

"No need for many targets . I just want one and it will be a human."

Chang Haoyu looked at his wife in utter shock.

"What?!" He asked in confirmation of what he had just heard.

"What? Did I stutter?"

"No...no."

"Good. Now tell them to prepare that filthy piece of shit for me. What was his name again?Aaah...Long Zhan."

"Okay...but don't kill him. He has to pay in slow pain and torture for what he did to our baby girl. Okay?"

"Okay." Gia Ming answered as she walked out of the room.

Chang Haoyu glanced at his wife's retreating back and sighed. He knew she was stressed about their daughter but she needed to release some steam to prevent herself from going to the Mafia base to find that Huan Kai.

...

Back in China,,,

Since it was on a Sunday, Zhao Haoran and Zhao Xia decided to spend the day at home. After their breakfast, Zhao Xia had gone back to sleep as her husband sat close to her, on the bed, with his MacBook on his lap typing away some official documents.

He suddenly received a phone call from his younger brother, Zhao Tai.

"What's up?"

"Brother, the gang members we captured that night are starting to become rebellious again. Please come to the base."

"Okay. I will be there in an hour."

"Okay." He hang up the phone and got out of bed earning a low mumble of disapproval from Zhao Xia. She stirred in her sleep before opening her eyes slightly.

"Where are you going?" She asked her voice laced with drowsiness.

"The underworld base. Want to come?"

Zhao Xia shot out of bed surprising Zhao Haoran.

"Yes.I want to go there. it's been a while since I was there."

Since they had already showered before going back to sleep, they just changed into outdoor outfits. They boarded Haoran's car and he drove them to their destination.

When they arrived, the members of the underworld teams were all outside the gigantic building, standing at attention, ready to greet their boss. Zhao Xia alighted the car and stood next to her husband.

She looked at the black sea of men and women, admiration in her eyes. It had been two years since she was here. She was certain that she would meet some of her former team mates and friends here.

Zhao Haoran intertwined their fingers bringing her back to reality.

"Nostalgia?"

"Yes." She answered as she smiled at him.

"I would like to introduce to you... my wife and your other boss from now on, Zhao Xia." He addressed the members. Thunderous claps resounded as an indication that they had already accepted her as their other boss.

Zhao Tai came towards them, greeted them and led them towards the white room where they had put the captured gang members.

They were seated in a group, as if discussing something when they heard the door open. They turned their heads to find two men and a lady entering the large room.

One of the members immediately spoke, addressing Zhao Haoran. "Why are we being held captive?"

"Because you were rebellious." Zhao Haoran answered as he made himself comfortable on a leather sofa and patted the space beside him for Zhao Xia to sit.

"What rebellious? We were just doing our work."

Zhao Haoran let out a chuckle."Work? Destroying innocent people's property and taking their lives is what you call work?"
