Everyone raised their heads to the sky but it was still a normal sky, nothing changed. It seemed like the loud boom wasn't something very important.
And so everyone continued their normal activities.
" So, should we get going?" Lily asked with a smile.
As her words entered into Ethan's ears, his whole body shook intensely for a second.
He then turned around and looked at her with a somewhat nervous look.
" I'm sorry, but I have to go," He said, as he ran away from the alley and flashed towards the forest.
Lily was completely awestruck by Ethan suddenly just running and leaving her hear.
_ sniff, snifff. I'm very sure I had my bath today, why's everyone just running away from me?_
After thinking about for about a minute, she decided to just leave and walk to school alone.
...
As Ethan ran with so much speed the world was becoming a passing blur as he zoomed passed everyone and everything. A look of alarm was etched into his face, as he would occasionally look at the sky with a face filled with shock.
_ Amon, what's happening?_
Although everyone looked up at the sky and saw nothing, Ethan and other supernatural creatures saw something else. Something horrific.
Ten human heads were floating in the air with blood covering their faces. They seemed to have just been killed recently, but the problem was. Why didn't they just fall to the ground?
" Ethan, go back. A blood trail is about to undergo," Amon said, as his voice echoed in Ethan's mind.
Ethan suddenly stopped in his tracks, the moment he realized that he was already just a step away from entering the forest.
There was some kind of bluish hue surrounding the forest like a force field.
Ethan put his hands on it and it immediately let his hand pass through.
" What's a blood trial? And what is this thing?"
Amon flew out of Ethan's head and looked at him calmly but a little bit of fright was on his face.
" First of all this is a kina barrier. It is used to keep and hide the supernatural events from the natural world. Allowing only those connected to the supernatural world to be able to see it," Amon explained, as a nostalgic exppression crepr up on his face.
Ethan was a bit surprised that there was such a thing like that. No wonder no one saw anything. It was because of this barrier.
Ethan stared at the barrier, he was very intruced as to how such a thing like this works. If he was able to do such a thing, then he would be able to hide the supernatural part of him and be able to control the urge of using his powers.
" So what's a blood trail?" Ethan asked, bringing back the actual topic to the question table.
Amon looked at Ethan and took a deep breath. It was almost like he was about to say something very important," A blood trail is a series of trail that tests the powers of a supernatural creature. The difficulty of the trails is assessed by the total number of heads in the sky, the more heads the harder the trail is going to be and the more levels you would have to cross before going through the whole trail,"
" So what you're saying is that this is some kind of assessment test for the supernatural creatures," Ethan said, marveled at how differently the supernatural world works.
Normally, you take an assessment test by writing words with a pen on a paper or you do a few physical challenges. That's his definition of an assessment test. But for the supernatural world, it's a whole different definition.
" So what kind of trails do people usually face in there?" Ethan asked, curiosity growing more and more with every passing second.
* The trails fced in ablood trail is always different from the last. There's no one in the supernatural world that would dare to claim that he or she had gone through a blood trail with the same set of test twice before,"
" So, is everyone in the supernatural world allowed to just go in and test themselves. Also, are there any prizes for passing the assessment?" Ethan asked inquisitively.
" Not everyone is allowed. You won't be able to go in if your strength is too high for the assessment. If a Primordial tried to go into a ten headed blood trial. They should not even think of being able to use their powers for the next thirty days. And for the prizes. You get a prize after completing a level in the blood trail,"
Amon then continued explaining with Ethan asking more questions and after a while, he had already understood everything he needed to know about a blood trail. Turns out you can even die in there.
Step! Step! Step!
Suddenly, Ethan heard the footsteps of someone coming closer to this place.
" Ethan hide," Amon warned.
Ethan immediately jumped into the air and aimed his body at one of the trees. Then he landed gracefully on the trees branch.
He then looked down and saw someone walk out of the thick rows of trees.
A man with black robes and very long ears, with an incredibly handsome face, as his black hair dripped down to the end of his back. He seemed like one ancient immortal.
He was so handsome that even Ethan felt like getting down and giving him a kiss, and he wasn't even gay!
_ why am I just coming across beautiful people today?_
Ethan said. But then he heard Amon breathing heavily and furiously. It seemed like seeing the man gave him a different emotion to the emotion that Ethan got when he saw the man.
" Hey Amon, calm down. Who is that guy?" Ethan asked, Intruged as to why Amon would have such a reaction to someone.
Amon took in a deep breath and tried to calm down," that man down there is a dala-"
Dalaketnon!!!
Before Amon could finish his sentence, a girl suddenly jumped out of nowhere and brandished her claws at the man. It seemed like she was ready to kill him, as she immediately sent a claw strike at the man.
Ethan was completely shocked at the moment, for the girl that attacked the man was the same girl from that night. It was the girl that gave him the healing potion.
It was Eliza!
Ethan was completely shocked by the sudden appearance of Eliza, and why the hell was she trying so hard to kill that guy?
Eliza was moving quickly and nimbly, as she tried her best to land a hit on the man, but every single time, she would miss by a hair's breath.
The man was very agile and seemed to be very well versed in agility and restraint, for every time Eliza would send an attack, she would leave herself open and that gave the man enough chance to have beaten her. But he seemed a bit reluctant every time.
" This girl is good," Amon said with a smile, as he watched the battle ensue.
" How is this good? That man could have struck her down a hundred times already. I think she needs help," Ethan said, about to jump down and chip in so as to stop the two from fighting.
He felt like if the man truly wanted to hit her he would have already done it by now, so it means that at the moment, Eliza is on the losing side of the battle.
" No! Don't go anywhere. Just sit and watch," Amon cautioned.
" But why, she's going to lose," Ethan said, as he couldn't understand why Amon would tell him to stop and not help her.
Amon sighed in a somewhat dissapointed manner, as he shook his head at Ethan as if he was inadvertently saying that Ethan was a fool.
" Don't you see the way she moves. Look closer and then check who is truly losing,"
Ethan decided to listed to And n and after looking at their ensuing battle, He saw something that he didn't notice before.
Eliza had been targeting the critical parts of a man's body. ( T/N: it's not what you think. Or is it?? I don't know).
Every single one of her attack is forcing the man to dodge and evade, giving him not even the slightest of the opportunities to attack back.
" Hey girl could you stop trying to attack me over there? I still want to give birth to children one day," The man said, as he evaded another attack.
" You should have thought of that before making an enemy of my people," Eliza said, unrelenting on her attacks and even beginning to strike harder.
As Ethan kept in watching this scene, his inner self was beginning to tell him to get involved. And he didn't want to do that.
Amon could see the way Ethan wanted to jump down there and stop the fight. But he tried his best to stop him so that Ethan wouldn't go and do a stupid thing.
After about fifteen seconds, Ethan finally gave in and jumped down to try and stop these two from killing theirselves.
Thud!
The moment he jumped down, he made a thudding sound which Immediately alerted the two fighters. And out if instinct, they both sent an attack at Ethan.
