Chapter 24 - Back to The Dungeon (2)

Jeffrey took a deep breath. He tried to calm his mind.

The huge rabbit in front of him licked it's lips when it looked at its meal.

Without any warning, the rabbit launched an attack against him. It dashed toward him with it's sharp claw.

Jeffrey clenched his grip on the dagger. When the monster was only a few meters away from him, Jeffrey jumped to his left.

If he was any seconds late, then he must be dead already. Before, Jeffrey was underestimating it's power. However, his eyes glared coldly at the monster.

"I can't waste any more time. The clock is still ticking and I need to kill it as soon as possible, but how?" Jeffrey muttered to himself.

As the monster knew what he was thinking, it quickly dashed at him. The sudden movement of it made Jeffrey's step stumble and he fell while dodging its attacks.

Blood streamed out from his cheek. Luckily, he succeeded to dodge it's claw.

Jeffrey immediately repositioned himself, far away from the rabbit.

He threw a bunch of pebbles to the rabbits and one of the pebbles hit it's eyes.

The rabbit reflexively rubbed it's eyes and loudly growled.

Jeffrey could see a slight of blood coming out from it's eyes and he thought that this was a good time to attack.

Jeffrey's grip on his dagger tightened and he quickly came forward to the rabbit while it was still busy with his eyes.

He swung his dagger and something strange happened.

The dagger suddenly became as long as a blade could have and he could faintly hear a roar of a dragon.

In a split second, he even saw a dragon's shadow coming out of the dagger and slashing at the monster's head.

[ You have level up! ]

[ You have level up! ]

[ Congratulations! You have defeated The Boss of The Grudge Rabbit. Do you want to claim your rewards? ]

Without even noticing the notification windows, Jeffrey fell down to the ground while panting.

"Wh-what was that?"

He looked at the weapon in his hand and saw that the blade before was gone. The blade turned back to it's original state as a dagger.

He couldn't understand a single thing that happened before, but one thing he knew that he farmed a lot and he still had two hours remaining.

His condition was tremendously exhausted. He took out Healing Potion from Storage that he got from the rewards of the quest before.

A glow of light covered up his body and the wounds that he got when he fought with the rabbits were gone.

His body also became lighter. He quickly stood up from the ground and excitedly said, "Good. Let's go clear more monsters!"

Meanwhile, in the World of God, Ascalapus bit his finger as he worried about Jeffrey.

He looked at Jeffrey in the dungeon through the Cronus' Ball.

Lachesis also saw this and she patted his shoulder, "It's okay. Just believe in him. He has a strong will to live. I bet that he is enjoying his time in the dungeon."

After she said this, they saw that the rabbit dashed to Jeffrey and let out a sigh of relief when he could dodge it.

"No, no. This shouldn't have happened, Lachesis. Even in another world, there was never a single human being who wanted to be back to the dungeon. I must save him!"

However, before he could stand up, they saw a dagger which changed into a blade.

Ascalapus fell silent as he watched Jeffrey defeat the rabbit all by himself.

"Am I seeing things?" Said Lachesis. Ascalapus shook his head.

He just laughed it off and refused to accept what he saw there. "Hahaha.... We must have been too tired on the way to Hades' castle."

Instead of following Ascalapus' refusal, Lachesis glanced at him and said, "Ascalapus, wake up! That is really the Dragon Blade! The infamous blade who didn't even acknowledge anyone as it's master."

Ascalapus gritted his teeth as he worriedly looked at Lachesis, "No way... If it's true, how the hell did he get it? I don't remember giving him any weapon."

As he finished his sentences, his gaze glanced at his pucos who were right now trembling on their seat.

Ascalapus laughed at them, "Haha... Why are you trembling? There's nothing to be afraid of if you don't do anything... WRONG!"

The moment he realized this, his voice turned louder and he pinched his forehead. He scolded his pucos, "Oh my... What else have you done behind my back?"

The yellow puco from the Operating Department closed its eyes and answered, "It was my fault, God. I was the one who gave him the Lucky Draw because I felt guilty for turning him into a woman."

"Don't you realized that he has a weak body? What if he died in the dungeon?"

"God, it's a Lucky Draw. I didn't know what would come out of it. Is that weapon really a dangerous weapon?"

After it said that, Ascalapus couldn't do anything anymore. Instead of dangerous, it was more deadly because of it's mysteriousness.

The dwarf clan who made the weapon mysteriously disappeared and their village was destroyed. No corpses, blood, or anything, all that's left was the weapon with a piece of paper besides that said 'Dragon Blade'.

After the weapon was secured, no one could use it properly and in the end, the weapon was forgotten.

The journey to Hades' Castle somehow felt very tiring.

The carriage carried by Pegasus suddenly landed. He thought that something happened, so he opened the curtain a little bit and saw a huge, dark, and gloomy castle in front of him.

"Hey, we have arrived!" Ascalapus said as soon as he saw that sight.

An unknown carriage appeared at the gate of Hades' Castle. It attracted the attention of the skeleton soldiers of Hades.

One of them knocked on the carriage and said, "Excuse me, could you open the curtain?"

The pucos immediately opened the curtain and the skeleton soldier saw two people and a bunch of colorful servants inside the carriage.

"If I may ask, could you please introduce yourself?"

Instead of answering, Ascalapus closed his eyes and raised his chin.

"Impudent! How dare you to ask him to introduce himself?" The white puco who usually very calm suddenly scolded the skeleton soldier.

Without waiting for the skeleton soldier to replied, the white puco from the Administration Department said, "Prepare your ears and hear this, you lowly thing. Kneel before our holy God of Life, Ascalapus!"

Skeleton soldiers, "..."

The yellow and green pucos also widened their eyes as they saw that no one moved or knelt before their god.

The yellow puco then said, "Look at this. I bet Hades is such a stupid king. He didn't even educate his soldiers about ethics."

The green replied while rolled its eyes, "You are definitely right! He must be doing something dirty to get into the Twelve God of Olympus."

After they said this, the skeleton soldiers in the front gate quickly knelt at Ascalapus, "Greetings to the God of Life, Ascalapus!"
