Chapter 22 - A Guest

Ascalapus' house was knocked on by someone.

The white Puco from Administration Department opened up the door and its eyes widened as he looked at the person in front of the door.

The white Puco greeted him, "God of Death, Thanatos. Welcome to the household of Ascalapus. Please, come in."

Thanatos didn't say anything and went inside the house.

He followed the white puco and waited for Ascalapus in the guest room.

He didn't wait for too long before the door in the guest room opened loudly.

Ascalapus greeted him, "Thanatos, welcome!"

There was something strange with Ascalapus today. His eyes seemed to move frantically, the smile he gave was forced too, and most importantly, he was sweating a lot.

Thanatos frowned but still replied his greeting, "Thank you. I have bad news for you."

"Wh—what is that?"

"I'm so sorry to say this but King Hades wants the soul I gave you."

Ascalapus' body trembled after he heard him. What the green puco said before actually came through!

"Oh... I-I see..."

Thanatos then stood up and excuse himself. He said before he was leaving, "Please give it to me in three days from now. I'll pick it up."

After he was gone, Ascalapus' legs became jelly. He fell down to the floor and yelled loudly, "Anybody! Quick quick! A meeting!"

The puco from all departments gathered in the meeting room. They got into an argument.

"Technically, he couldn't die yet because he just came back to life. It was already arranged by Zeus." said the yellow puco.

The green puco refuted him, "But, at the start, he should be dead a long time ago, right?"

The yellow puco said, "Yes, but what can he do? The rule is already written in Zeus' Book."

The discussion went on for about two hours and they still didn't have any solution.

Ascalapus became tired to hear them and knocked on his table, "So, what will we have to do?"

The yellow and green puco fell silent. They didn't know what to say.

During the silence, the white puco said, "How about we bring God of Age, Lachesis as proof that Jeffrey's soul actually died before the time?"

Ascalapus' eyes became excited when he heard that. "That's right! We should do that. Hurry up and let's go to her house!"

They quickly went to Lachesis' house. After they arrived, Ascalapus knocked on her door.

Shortly after, Lachesis opened her door and confused as she looked at Ascalapus in front of her.

Ascalapus jumped from his place and hugged the middle age lady in front of him. "Lachesis, help me!"

"Oh my... What happened to you?" said Lachesis.

Lachesis quickly asked them to came inside her house and gave them a tea especially for Ascalapus.

"So, tell me what happened?"

"This was what happened to me..."

Ascalapus told her about Jeffrey and felt pity for him. She stroked his hands and said, "Of course, I'll help. What time we should go to Hades?"

"Let's go tomorrow. I want to prepare myself. You know, right? Hades is such a scary god," Ascalapus said as he screamed at his head.

"Okay, okay. Let's meet up tomorrow."

The green puco who saw this sight rolled its eyes and silently said, "Who said yesterday he wanted to kick Hades's ass?"

The day went by too fast for Ascalapus. The day when he had to meet Hades has come.

He arrived at Lachesis' house and that middle-aged woman was ready to go.

Lachesis said to Ascalapus who was nervous through their journey to Hades' Castle, "It's gonna be alright. You don't have to be this worried. I believe Hades will also let go of his soul."

Ascalapus sighed and dejectedly looking at her, "But, did you forget? Hades must be holding a grudge to me since I was the one who spread Thanatos' story."

Lachesis stayed silent. She was confused about how to calm his mind.

Lachesis then remembered something, she said, "Right, did you already contact Jeffrey yesterday?"

Ascalapus patted his forehead as he said, "Oh my... I forgot about that. Let me contact him first."

Ascalapus took out his phone and messaged him. However, there was no reply from him.

He frowned at his phone and said to his pucos, "Does anyone bring Cronus' Ball?"

The green and yellow pucos shook their head, but the white puco suddenly took out a ball from its bag.

"I've brought the ball, God," said the white puco.

Ascalapus heaved a sigh of relief and took a look at the ball.

When he finally saw it, he snapped. He said, "Why the hell is he going there?!"

On the earth, the sun had just risen but it was already very hot.

Jeffrey woke up and was shocked when he saw the sun already up in the sky, "Oh shit... I'm late!"

Page's voice reminded him, "Master, I told you not to do the daily quest yesterday. Did you forget?"

Being reminded by her, Jeffrey's mind suddenly became clear. "Right, I totally forgot about that."

Jeffrey then relaxed his body and laid his body down. He yawned and didn't know what to do to spend his time waiting until midnight.

He closed his eyes and then went back to sleep.

He woke up when he heard that there was a notification window. He rubbed his eyes and yawned.

He glanced at the notification window.

He didn't do the daily quest, but it would be good if he still did this mission.

He quickly got up and before he could climb down from the bed. Kayla opened up his door while she brought a lot of food in the tray.

Looking at that plain food, Jeffrey had no appetite. As she knew what Jeffrey was thinking, she put the dish on his side table.

Kayla put her hands on her waist and said, "You can't be picky about your food, okay?"

Jeffrey pouted his lips and grumbled, "I'm not picky. It's just that the food really was too plain."

Kayla flicked her fingers to his forehead and replied, "The taste doesn't matter. the most important thing is that you become healthy. Don't you want to go to school?"

Jeffrey gave up as he couldn't refute her words and Kayla gave him a light smile. "Good boy. Now eat first, then I'll come again to check you up."
