164 Sky Fire Shenanigans

They flew through the training grounds and into the wilderness. Zhong Ling said "Third Brother... If we keep going, we'll be in the wilderness.." Long Chen said "Good. Keep going." Mu Qingyun controlled the boat to continue.

A giant toad came out of nowhere and shot it's tongue out at the boat. Long Chen looked at the group and saw that the Elite Disciples, Cross' kids, Cross, his maid, and himself were the only was completely calm.

Some of the disciples were scared but ready to fight, while the rest was stunned, waiting for death.

Cross shrugged and said "It's not 100% effective." Long Chen clicked his tongue and said "No matter, we'll focus on the ones who were ready to fight." Cross grinned and the toad was blasted away by the boat's defenses.

Long Chen's face was cold and they landed in a valley. Cross lit a cigarette and looked at the disciples as Long Chen said "I'm disappointed by most of you. Though I guess my standards are too high. None of you had to fight for what you have."

He shook his head and continued "There's not shortcut to be strong! If you don't have determination to be stronger than you'll just stagnate and everyone will pass you. Well, that's not true." he grinned and said "If you don't have the desire to get stronger, you will die here."

The disciples felt their scalps go numb, Cross stepped up and exhaled a mouthful of smoke, forming into a skull as he said "Time to go, babies! Whether you become an expert or add a corpse to the pile, will be decided today! Hahhahahaha!"

He stomped on the deck and all 2000 of the disciples uncontrollably flew off the boat into the valley, they heard Cross' cold voice "Pandora, Zephyr, Lily, Amelia, Hong'er, and Artemis. You all will, under no circumstance, work with anyone else. I'm watching you all... Don't disappoint me."

Long Chen shook his head at Cross saying "You're too hard on them." Cross took a drag and said "If they can't handle this, I will keep them in my inner world. The only way they'll die is if I do it, nobody else can kill them." he sighed and rubbed his eyes with a single hand as he added "If I lose even one of them, I might become a killing machine."

Long Chen paused before patting Cross' shoulder and saying "Don't worry about them, they're very strong already." he paused again and joked to lighten the mood "Though I guess, they'll never be strong enough to be adults in your eyes."

Cross froze before laughing and replying "You'll understand when you have kids. They're lives are the most important things in my life, Me or any of their mothers wouldn't even hesitate to sacrifice ourselves for them." Long Chen sighed and looked into the sky as he said "I can imagine."

Cross coughed and said "Chen'er, you'll find them again." Long Chen shot him a look of disgust as he said "Chen'er?" Cross grinned and said "You're not sad anymore, so it worked. Anyway, bastard let's go look for the sky fire." Long Chen said "Wah! How did you know?!"

Cross tapped his head and said "I'm the smartest person in the entire world, I know everything! Plus I saw you looking at Crescent Valley history." Long Chen spat and gave hi the finger before they left.

A while later

Everybody got back on the boat in front of Crescent Valley, everybody started to sleep during the night, Ying'er held Yuanyuan in her arms and rested against a wall of the boat. Zhong Ling and Zhong Xiu were sleeping on Long Chen's thighs. Mu Qingyun was talking with Long Chen.

Cross was sitting on the bow on the boat, his black hair waved softly under the moonlight. He floated his wine gourd next to him and stroked the zither on his lap. He made two for Jie Yuan and he kept the second one with him, incase she broke hers.

Cross closed his eyes and lightly plucked the strings on the zither, he was a bit stiff for a few moments before he flowed smoothly. A beautiful and sad melody flowed from the zither along with Cross' low hum.

Long Chen looked over and listened to the song, closing his eyes and sinking into his memories.

Cross opened his mouth and sang in Elven. He sang the [Vermillion Bird's Spirit Consoling Song]. He thought of many things. He already had a family and they were all healthy but what about himself. Where did he come from? Where were his parents?

He looked up at the sky, he had thought about this a long time ago but he pushed it to the back of his mind. Tonight he suddenly though of them, what did they look like? Would they be disgusted by him? He didn't know anything about them, or what they looked like.

Personally, he felt like he could never hate his kids, but then again they weren't him. He was borderline psychopathic. His hands were stained in so much blood they were almost permanently dyed red. Maybe his parents would be scared of him?

He closed his eyes and two tears slid down as he finished the song and pressed on the strings, stopping the music before he let out a heavy sigh. He sent the zither away and drank under the moonlight once more.

The next day

Cross was back to usual and Long Chen brought the disciples into the valley. Yuanyuan was sitting on Cross' shoulders and said "Daddy, it's hot!" Cross' hair turned white and ice crystals formed in his hair, Yuanyuan cheered and the rest of the disciples' eyes turned green with envy.

The 6 kids were completely fine, the other disciples were struggling and Long Chen took a bunch of breaks until they finally reached the Heart of Crescent Valley. They reached a cave and walked inside, Long Chen led the way and found a bunch of Sky Fire grass, he took them all along with some rocks.

There was a source of sky fire but it wasn't formed yet. Maybe it would take 10000 years to form, Long Chen decided to leave it but Cross didn't. He sped up the time around the Source by 10,000 years in an instant. The Sky Fire Source exploded into a seed of a Sky fire and Cross snorted, suppressing the Seed in a black bubble. He threw it in the inner world and tapped his necklace, telling Feng Xue'er to absorb the sky fire in the inner world.

He chased after Long Chen and threw him the leftover source. The little fire dragon swallowed the rock whole and coiled around Long Chen's arm again as they moved on. The disciples started to get tired and Long Chen left them there before running off.

Cross watched over the disciples and forcefully kept them awake with his killing intent, sharpening their will against the Will of the Sky Fire. Mu Qingyun absorbed the will and roasted her soul, connecting with her sword.

He watched over them all, making a hammock on the wall and laying down to the sleep. Yuanyuan laid on his chest and sleep asleep, Cross controlled the temperature of his body to make Yuanyuan cool. Surprisingly the Will of the Sky Fire, didn't affect her whatsoever.

A while later

Cross was awoken by the sound of footsteps, he held Yuanyuan with one hand and formed a claw at the intruder, stopping just before their forehead. His eyes were still half opened as he said "Who dares disturb Lord Fifth's sleep?"

Long Chen chuckled and said "It's me." Cross relaxed and went back to sleep, yawning as he hugged Yuanyuan and snuggled in the hammock. Long Chen felt his mouth twitch, this guy was even lazier than him. He was supposed to watch over the disciples, but all he did was force them to stay awake with his killing intent...

The disciples saw Long Chen and shouted in glee "Lord Third! Please save us!" Long Chen shook his head and laughed, Cross grunted and the disciples shut their mouths. Long Chen brought back Luo Ning and her sister, Luo Bing, Luo Ning said "Long Chen! How can you honestly pursue my sister, but keep these girls on the side!"

Long Chen started to sweat and said "Great Aunt! Don't put this hat on my head, even I can't bear it!" she was pointing at Cross' kids, they looked back and pursed their lips in amusement. Cross rolled over and narrowed his eyes at Luo Ning. The cave turned into an ice cave as he said "Who's keeping my daughters on the side?"

Luo Ning jumped and shouted "Ah! The big devil!" as she hid behind Long Chen. Cross yawned and took back his pressure saying "Dumb girl, they won't ever get married." as he walked over, the disciples didn't even dare to faint! That's how scared they were of Cross.

Cross picked up Luo Ning by her collar and shook her in front of him saying "Silly girl, do you think I'll eat you up? What are you hiding for?" Luo Ning put her hands on her hips and said "As if you wouldn't eat this lady! Hmph! This lady is a magnet for big devils like you!"

Long Chen felt his mouth twitch and Cross laughed as he said "You're not a strong enough magnet for me." before letting her down and saying to Long Chen "We leaving?" Long Chen nodded and the entire group left.

They boarded the boat and hid somewhere with an invisible formation around the boat. Long Chen said "We'll wait and I'll show you a good show." Cross looked at the approaching group before saying incredulously "Impossible!" Long Chen got serious and said "I don't know what means he used but I can assure you that he's completely fine now."

Cross grinded his teeth and black tendrils squirmed off his body. That Chu Kuang guy was still alive! Not only that but he was completely fine! His strength was back to the Half-Step Divine Flame Realm! He even looked stronger than before! Though at the moment he had no hair and his face was burned.

Cross took a deep breath and everything receded, his face becoming blank as he stared at Chu Kuang without fluctuations. Ying'er smiled, this was Cross' scariest state. When he's like this... Hehe~ A lot of people will have a bad time.

A pillar of Lava engulfed Chu Kuang and the rest, along with an old man who came along.

They watched as Chu Kuang and the Old man fled from the scene. The old man was bald and Chu Kuang was on fire. Long Chen clicked his tongue and said "Damn, those two have a tough life. Next time." they returned to the school and just as they appeared a net draped over the boat.

Cross and Long Chen got out of the way and escaped the net, Cross snapped his fingers and Yuanyuan transformed into her sword form. Cross blurred and appeared behind Long Chen, swinging his blade. Long Chen also smashed a fire lotus on the old man.

Cross chopped the old man's arm off and Long Chen smashed him in the chest with the fire lotus. The Old man was sent flying backwards and Long Chen controlled the ship to destroy the teleportation array.

Cross shot after the old man, switching his grip to backhand as he swung the hook towards the old man's neck. He whistled and a Black Lotus appeared on his palm. Cross threw it under the old man and it morphed into a blackhole.

The old man was completely out of control, Cross spread out his hands and strings tied up the old man, Cross pulled the strings towards him as the alarm for the school went off. He shot forward and passed the old man, swinging the sword out.

The old man moved at the last minute and got his older arm chopped off. Cross stepped on the air and a black lotus appeared under his foot as he shot back at the old man while people started appearing in the air.

Cross flipped Yuanyuan and latched onto the old man. He wrapped one arm around his head and held the curve of the Kopesh on the old man's neck as his legs were wrapped around the old man's waist. Two strings tightened around the old man's legs and severed them as Cross was ready to chop the old man's head off.

The sword dug into the old man's neck as a man in the sky shouted "What's going on here!?"
