167 Shinto List Event

Cross patted Long Chen's shoulder and said "Don't embarrass me, yeah?" Long Chen grinned and Cross chuckled before stepping and disappearing to the teachers' seats. Everybody was in awe, while Cross was already slumped in his chair sideways.

The head of the Law Enforcement hall asked "Little brother, what was that movement technique?!" Cross smirked and said "You like it? I made it myself." the man was stunned and Cross added "Unfortunately, it only works for me. Not even my kids can use it..."

He sighed at that and the man sighed as well, if they had this movement technique for the War effort they could probably destroy the demons! Cross looked at him and said "Big bro, I can probably make one for you if you want. Whether it'll work.... I don't know."

The man shook his head and said "It's alright, don't worry about it." Cross nodded and said nothing more, looking down and watching the events. Yuanyuan was laying on Cross' chest and sleeping the day away. Her spiritual root was extremely special, it was a rainbow of colors and shined like a crystal. He had no idea what it meant at all.

She was still his little baby, whatever spiritual roots she had didn't matter. As long as she never leaves her daddy's side and gives him hugs, he'll be happy.

The disciples were in an uproar because of Long Chen using soul power to sense a flag.

Cross started to fall asleep when he heard "It has nothing to do with the power of the soul." He opened his droopy eyelids and waved at Yunyang, who pursed his lips in amusement. He had heard who lawless Cross was at his trial, now that he takes a look at him, it seemed his Dao-Heart became stronger?

Yunyang felt that Cross had a new temperament, not very different from the old one, just 'more arrogant' if you will. Like he would ignore ants instead of stepping on them.

Yunyang stood up and smiled "Yunyang has seen Head of the Law Enforcement Hall." the head nodded and said "You may answer." Cross rolled his eyes and said "You know this best, old man." he twirled his finger and said "Blow our minds."

Yunyang chuckled and said "The formation around the arena prevents disciples from dying from overuse of their soul, so it sends an oppressive will against the divine sense. This means that Long Chen's will is much more fierce than the actual formation's oppressive strength." the disciples were awed.

One disciples asked "Teacher, what is will?" Cross looked at the disciple and a powerful aura forced him to his knees, everybody looked at Cross, who said lightly "Will is your mental state, if you have a weak will you will bend to someone stronger than you. To have a strong will is to never back down in the face of danger, just like now." before he took his aura back and left the disciple alone.

Yunyang smiled and said "What Teacher Cross has said is true, but his methods are more practical rather than academical. What you experienced was Teacher Cross' will being forced on you, I would say that this method of teaching is crude but effective. Your wills can only be sharpened against countless enemies."

Cross didn't react because his methods were crude, he was smart but he didn't like wasting time. If one punch wasn't enough then two should work. As for explaining, it wasn't necessary.

Cross lost interest in talking to the disciples and watched Long Chen go through the maze. He cam across a cliff and blew a hole in it before moving onwards, they came across a bunch of beasts and killed them all before moving forward like a hot knife through butter.

A giant mammoth appeared but was used as a chariot instead. Long Chen stood on top of it as it plowed through the beasts like a train.

A while later

Chu Kuang reached the third trial and his group started shattering runes and flying through the mist towards the flag like crazy people.

Luo Ning and Luo Bing has showed up a while ago and Luo Ning shouted "What's the point of this?! Let's just ask if you have enough money to buy the spots on the Shinto list next time? Why even hold a tournament?"

The old man next to Chu Huairen sneered "Financial resources are more important that Talent, understand? No matter how talented you are, without resources what can you do?" Cross spoke up "He's right."

Everybody looked at him in bewilderment and Cross continued "Financial resources are a part of someone's strength. Someone can even get crippled and come back just fine a few days later! Or they could be a complete waste with weak strength and get beaten by a child despite being at the 4 Extremes Realm. This is a lesson to all of you, just because you have money, too many pills and resources will make you dependent on them and you'll end up a waste with no strength because all you did was boost your cultivation with pills."

The old man was furious and the disciples all grinned before shouting "Thank you, Lord Fifth!" it was a massive shout from almost all the disciples, making Chu Huairen's face extremely ugly. Cross just spun what the old man said into a backhanded compliment and slapped him right in the face.

Yunyang chuckled and said "The wisdom of little friend Cross is superb!" Cross chuckled and glared at Chu Huairen with a heavy sneer before turning his attention back to the trial, infuriating Chu Huairen.

Chu Kuang and his group threw a teleportation array at Long Chen and sent him back to the beginning of the second trial before torturing the mammoth and killing it. Long Chen was angry, very, very, angry. Thunder wings unfurled on his back and his shot forward.

The disciples started shouting profanities and cursing the Chu clan and the use of money. Cross watched with a smile and the old man next to Chu Huairen stood up, shouting "Shut up! The rules are rules! As long as Chu Kuang doesn't violate the rules of the colleges, he hasn't cheated! You group of poor people, what qualifications do you have to clamor here?!"

Cross burst out laughing and the disciples quieted down, he looked over at the old man and said with a smile "This doggy is too bold! Going so far to insult disciples and show favoritism to disciples with better backgrounds? Could it be you let off the disciples that commit atrocities in the sect because they have bribed you? As for whether Doggy Kuang is cheating, we all know in our hearts. Honestly, I don't know why Chu Huairen brought you here."

Cross laughed and said to Chu Huairen "Your brain must be getting muddled. You brought this idiot here? He deliberately making the entire Chu clan look bad, you expect to take over the academy like this? All you've done is make people despise you, actually, I despise myself for thinking you were even a little bit smart. If everyone in the Chu clan is as stupid as you, then it will be a simple matter to make them disappear."

Cross paused before laughing wildly "Maybe, I can tell them there's a treasure in a volcano and they'll jump in! Hahahaha" Chu Huairen clenched his fist in rage and the Head of the Law Enforcement Hall shouted coldly "I can from nothing. My parents were civilians and I also starved to death on the street, am I a green leaf to you as well?!"

The old man shuddered and said "I'm sorry-" Cross sneered and a lotus appeared on his hand as he said "I lived on the streets as well, you think an apology will fix this?" the lotus spread a terrifying aura and the old man started to sweat. The head of the Law Enforcement division said nothing, Cross crushed the lotus and sneered "Unfortunately, big brother spoke first. If you're not crippled when he's done, it'll be my turn."

He pointed at the man and a black light appeared in between his eyebrows forming a black lotus. Cross sneered and said "Even if you run to the end of the Immortal world I will still find you. Enjoy your remaining moments, clown." the old man was finished, completely finished.

Cross pointed at Long Chen and said "All of you take a look at Long Chen. Don't be discouraged by a clown's words. Isn't your Teacher Long the best example? He appeared and the Chu clan has been scrambling like ants in a pan because they can't suppress him."

Chu Huairen shouted "Are you going to keep antagonizing my Chu Clan?!" Cross looked at him in confusion and said "Old man, have you gone deaf as well? I already told you, I'm going to annihilate your clan. You think the words this King speaks is just a joke? I'm 100% serious, you, your family, along with every chicken, dog, and rooster will be slaughtered by my hands personally."

He shook his head and added "The people that offend me, never live long." Of course Chu Huairen didn't believe him. He was just a Divine Flame Realm kid, if he believed his words he might be just as crazy as Cross!

He though Cross was mocking him and making him angry on purpose. Fatal mistake for the Chu clan. Maybe if they found out, they would beat the shit out of Chu Huairen in the underworld.

Chu Huairen crushed his arm rest and said darkly "You really want to die." Cross looked at him and sneered "Can you end my life? Even the Heavens can't do it. I'm waiting for you." he tilted his head and patted his neck with a disdainful expression. The disciples cheered "Lord Fifth! Lord Fifth!"

One girl fainted, shouting "So Hardboiled!"

Luo Bing shouted "Ah! Mu Qingyun attacked!"

Everybody turned to look and saw Mu Qingyun attacking with a wooden sword, a fierce battle and Mu Qingyun destroyed the magical weapon in the enemies hands but her wooden sword shattered and she coughed up blood. The enemy went crazy and splashed his blood essence on his broken sword before attacking her.

Mu Qingyun didn't allow herself to fall to the ground at all, just like Cross told her.

Yunyang rubbed his beard with a smile and said "She's a good seed! I assume little friend Cross and Long's teachings have reached her." everybody looked at Cross, who waved and said "What my efforts? This girl is still too dumb, why doesn't she fight back? When they sword is broken use your hands, when the hands are broken use your legs, when the legs are broken use your teeth! Even if you die, you can take the enemy with you!"

The disciples just opened their mouths in speechlessness.

Yunyang smiled wryly, this was cutting off all methods of retreat. Luo Ning said "You big devil! Won't she be crippled if she does that!?" Cross shrugged and said "Dead, crippled, what's the difference? If she has the will to get stronger, even if she was in a wheelchair she would become and expert!"

The disciples were absentminded and the Head of the Law Enforcement hall nodded in agreement. Luo Bing shouted "But she'll die like this!" Cross sneered "If she dies, she wasn't meant to become an expert. Hopefully she won't tell anyone in hell I taught her." Luo Bing shouted angrily "How could you say that!?"

Yunyang spoke "Little Luo, this is little friend Cross' beliefs. You can't expect someone to hold your hand for your entire life can you? Though this is cruel, this is reality." Luo Bing choked on her words and didn't speak anymore.

Mu Qingyun was about to get her pretty little head chopped off when a big hammer stopped the blade. Zephyr sneered at the man and said "Aiyo, if I let you kill a woman in front of me, wouldn't I be embarrassed in the future?" he grabbed his hammer with both hands and spun around, smashing the hammer on the enemy's chest and smashed him flying, killing him with a single blow, turning the man into a blood paste.

Zephyr took in front of Mu Qingyun and said "Hehe~ I bet the women have my heroic appearance in their hearts." Cross' face turned black and Yunyang chuckled, Lily, Amelia and Pandora appeared next to him.

Lily was holding Hong'er and Artemis in each hand as she shouted "Oi! You bunch of wet rags! This great aunt has come for your lives!" Pandora held the giant axe on her shoulder and Amelia had needles in between her fingers, each needle dripped dark green liquid.

Amelia said softly "Big brother... I'm sure dad heard you." Zephyr turned green and coughed covering up his nervousness by saying "That damn old man, I'll fix him up when we get out."

Cross' face was pitch black listening to these morons, the Head of the Law Enforcement Hall laughed and joked "Little brother, your kids sure are bold!" Cross rubbed his eyes and sighed, mumbling something about punishing them later, making the one armed Head of the Law Enforcement Hall laugh again.

The 4 kids stood against the rest of Chu Kuang's group and Lily said "En. We'll split them up, I get 300 and you can have the rest." The other 3 frowned and Zephyr sneered "Whoever kills the most wins." Pandora tightened her grip and Amelia smiled lightly.

Chu Kuang looked over and sneered "It's the bastard's kids, I can't wait to play with you in front of him." he licked his lips lustfully, looking at the 3 girls.

All the disciples outside frowned in disgust and Cross chuckled as his chair burst apart. The spectator's area turned extremely cold and the one armed man was furious as he said coldly "Easy. They will fail if you interfere." Cross formed a Throne and sat back down, he smiled but his smile was full of evil intentions.

Zephyr was so angry he laughed, his hammer split into 2 hammers and a storm appeared around the heads as he said darkly "You're really too bold..." he looked up and his eyes were wild as he said "I can't wait to kill you!" before shooting towards Chu Kuang, swinging his hammers and turning everyone in his way into a blood mist.

The girls grinned and moved. Lily dived into the group, slaughtering them with Hong'er and Artemis, Pandora swung her axe, bisecting a group of disciples and Amelia vanished into thin air, but several disciples turned dark green and collapsed to the ground dead every few seconds.

By the time the rest of the Carefree alliance showed up 100 of them were dead and Zephyr was fighting Chu Kuang, they rushed into the remaining enemies and started killing.
