Captured The Progenitor

The blue light pierced through the darkness like the guiding hand of Death itself.

Michael gulped, thankful he hadn't encountered it earlier. Could anyone withstand such power?

"What kind of weapon is this?" he inquired.

Isabelle patted the rifle in her grasp. "It's a Gauss rifle. Do you fancy it?"

Selene nodded. "This should be quite effective against werewolves."

Indeed, it was more than effective—it was akin to using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. No matter how resilient or regenerative a werewolf might be, a direct hit from this weapon would obliterate them. Though perhaps a seam might still offer a slim chance of survival.

Alexander, seated nearby, watched the scene unfold in disbelief. How had the world changed so drastically? Was this still the world he once knew?

Eleven chuckled. "I must ask, Mr. Alexander, will you handle this yourself, or shall we intervene? If you're inclined to struggle, we could always fetch your two sons. But I doubt you wish to witness such a sight."

"You...," Alexander's expression darkened. He had only two sons.

Even Michael, despite his own tumultuous thoughts, couldn't fathom having two sons of such high status.

Unable to bear the tension any longer, Selene intervened. "Sir, we've encountered Marcus before, and they defeated him."

At this moment, Alexander appeared visibly aged. While others might not comprehend the significance of his sons, he certainly did. William had succumbed to lycanthropy, forfeiting his intellect, while Marcus had descended into madness. It was only a matter of time before they faced their own reckoning.

Survival, even if just for a while, was all that mattered now.

"I'll come along, but you must spare Marcus and William," Michael declared, fixing Eleven with a firm gaze, unwilling to agree to a confrontation with everyone.

Eleven responded with a cryptic smile. "As you wish, Mr. Alexander."

It wasn't that Eleven was averse to violence, but the commander had warned before their arrival that external influences could trigger a mutation in Alexander. Better to avoid any such outcome.

One of Alexander's sons had become a werewolf, the other a vampire. Eleven didn't want Alexander to undergo a similar transformation, lest his blood lose its potency.

The port lay in ruins, with burning wreckage and crumbling walls. Even if anyone investigated, they'd find no useful clues.

"Selene, do you know where we can find vampires in this area?" Eleven inquired.

"What do you mean?" Selene replied, puzzled.

"It means we still need to capture some vampires and werewolves," Eleven clarified.

Frowning, Selene responded, "I know of a place, but I'm not sure if he's still there."

"Mousse, provide her with a map," Eleven instructed.

The map materialized, and Selene marked a location. It wasn't far, and within minutes, the spaceship reached the destination.

"You go ahead," Storm Shadow directed, leading the group towards a castle, once a monastery but now repurposed into a prison by vampires to contain criminal vampires.

The guy inside wasn't just any ordinary Joe. Turns out he was a vampire historian, packed with secrets. Funny thing is, Selene was the one who banished him in the first place.

"Aren't you tagging along? Gonna keep us company here?" Selene quipped, eyeing him curiously.

Eleven didn't bat an eye. "Feel free to try. Maybe you'll make a break for it?"

Alexander stayed silent. He'd been quiet ever since stepping foot on the spaceship. Despite being the daddy to vampire Marcus and werewolf William, his own strength wasn't all that impressive. To put it bluntly, no special powers.

Expecting Selene and Michael to take down Eleven, whose strength was a mystery, seemed a tad far-fetched.

Ten minutes later, Storm Shadow dragged in a sorry-looking middle-aged man, while Royce and the gang wrestled in a giant wolf, locking it in an iron cage.

"Sir, material capture's all done."

"Good, head back!"
