Just like what Mikael expected, three days after their meeting on that day, Santina came knocking on his door on her own accord and offered her help.

On that same day, Santina started working on a case that the national police had wanted to keep out of the headlines.

She had been the first person in Officer Aragon's list to do the job not just only because he knew that Santina would not be able to turn him down.

The other party also had been Officer Aragon's first choice for the case because of her expertise in the study of forensic science in general.

In fact, Santina was so good at it that she became one of the few in her country to have gained international recognition on this field way back in 2013.

And the first woman who at a young age of 27, managed to earn a doctorate degree at a well-known university outside her country which was globally renowned in producing graduates that later on became great physical and medical anthropologists of all time.

It was for that same reason that despite her little job experience, landing on a job as a professor at a prestigious medical school still had been nothing but a piece of cake for Santina.

After working for only around four years at the forensic department, Santina then decided to turn a new leaf and leave her previous job altogether and just focused her energy on adding Ph. D. on her last name

The horrors of murders that had brought her nightmares as well as the sleepless nights after Sebastian's death were some of the underlying reasons that prompt Santina to make the decision of living her previous job.

As a rule of thumb, forensic anthropologists were often called upon to work in forensic investigations involving deaths that may have been caused by a natural disaster, such as a hurricane or forest fire, or a crime.

Using their knowledge of bones, a forensic anthropologist was capable of examing a human remain and determine how a person died, such as whether it was by suicide or homicide, or from accidental or natural causes.

Forensic anthropologists could also determine with a great deal of certainty a deceased person's age, weight, sex, height, and diet.

However, Santina's skills extended considerably into other aspects of forensic science as well.

Including but not limited to the advanced training in forensic pathology which enabled her to perform autopsies on persons who had died of unnatural causes.

A Jack of all trades through and through.

It was probably for that same reason why Officer Aragon thought that Santina was the perfect fit for the case they were working on.

Despite not being in the police forensic department for a long time now, Santina still used to receive requests from the department asking for her help from time to time,

She had been consulted with her expertise to work on some cases by different law enforcement agencies all over her country over the past years mostly due to the fact that she was among one of the best that her country had so far.

Events like that in Santina's life had been too often to the point that she had already lost count of how many of those cases she had played a crucial part in solving.

This, as a result, allowed the professor to gain the first-hand experience and inside knowledge of how the national police usually conduct their investigations as well as their frustrating inadequacies in having their job done.
