The Killing at District 12

There were mysterious murders taking place at District 12 every last weekend of the month and the serial killer was at large. "Our killer was not just deliberately peeling of the face of his victims. He was also eviscerating their body and purging out their organs, particularly their hearts. It was like the killer wanted to remove everything that made one human." Two people who used to be high school friends and also shared a painful past; both lost a loved one on an incident that happened six years ago decided to join hands to solve this mystery. One was retired a forensic anthropologist who turned a new leaf and chose to become a professor at a medical school While the other was a former law enforcement officer who had decided to be into seminary and was just a step away from becoming an officially ordained priest Will they be able to identify the notorious killer that lurked the shadows of their district??? LURE HER IN

"Now Professor, we both know Officer Aragon's character. You, more than anyone should know that he was not someone who would act without thinking or weighing the consequences of his action or words. And yet he sent me here to you. So that only goes to say how we badly needed your help."

Mikael said as an attempt to persuade Santina to say yes to his request afterward.

"I am honestly not sure anymore, Mikael. I had not been up for the job for a long time already. I mainly do teaching as my main job now. I also don't think I have been at the forensic department for that long either, for you guys to think too highly of me. I just only worked there for about three or four years. Besides, I am no longer in my hay days anymore and I believe that there were lots of young buds out there who would be more than willing to be in my place if given a chance. So why me?"

Santina answered back and the edge of reluctance was clearly written on her face as she said that.

"Officer Aragon's hands were tied right now and he could not just simply made his move with circumstantial evidence alone so he asked for my cooperation to deal with this case and now we are asking for yours. We both know how good you are, Santina. You have managed to make a name for yourself within just three years of your service. We had heard a lot about you. And while I have never had a chance to personally work with you before, I believed I can dare say that there is always a first time for everything."

Santina smirked when she heard Mikael talking as though he was back to his old self again

She thought that years at the seminary had dulled if not trimmed the other party's flowery tongue.

But that did not seem to be the case.

"Most of what I do before was all about drug operations, there were also some cases of kidnappings and robberies but not many. But being a cop does not guarantee that I am also good at dealing with homicide cases. I may know a thing or two about it but it was still better to have someone knowledgeable in the field like you. What I am all trying to say is we need your help here, Santina. We really do."

The professor smiled further upon hearing Mikael's words.

It was Mikael's first time seeing Santina cracked a genuine smile ever since they met that day, so Mikael was certain that he just have to push a little further and be more assertive and he could surely convince the other party to agree to him and lure her in the case.

"A missing thirteen-year-old boy had been found dead at District 12. His facial skin was peeled off and all his internal organs were also missing. Officer Aragon told me to slip that confidential information to no one but you. He told me that you might want to hear that."

Mikael added when Santina did not reply right away.

But when the other party heard what he said, there was a slight change in her facial expression. The change was so brief but it was still enough for Mikael to notice it.

Knowing that his intention had already been accomplished, Mikael already decided to no longer impose on the other party and took his leave.

But before that, he also did not forget to leave his contact information.

"Now, here is my contact number as well as my address so you will know how and where to contact me in case you finally made up your mind. Alright! I won't be taking much of your time anymore. I am leaving. Hope to see you soon."

"Bye then. And I hope next time we see each other, we won't be talking about this shit and just spend a normal day together just like how we used to do before."

"Watch your words, little girl. You are talking to a soon to be a priest."

Mikael joked at her then added afterward,

"Sure, let us catch some time, next time. Goodbye for now."

And with that, the two old friends who after six long years finally had met again took separate ways again.
