Jaivva and Nana ran up the stairs, following the directions given. At first, their path was clear. No soldiers were guarding the hallways nor entrances. they ran past pig pens and monster dens alike to reach the higher floors.
Given the lack of security, the two became careless in maneuvering throughout the stadium. Once they were near the king's chamber, two guards spotted them from behind.
"The intruders are here!" shouted a guard.
"Shit!" the two took off running before the guards could catch up.
There were many guards coming from different hallways. For every turn the girls made, they found two to four more guards on their trail. Each wielding full armor, shield, and a weapon. Their only advantage was to outrun these guys.
Two guards sprinted from ahead. Nana and Jaiva rose their shields and tackled them. The clash left the four thrown about on the ground. One managed to cut into Nana's calf. Instead of fighting, they kicked away from their attackers and ran off.
