32 The Red Car

Running down the road, Dezzy cried until she reached the red car. The car door slammed open which sent Dezzy into a frenzy of screams.

"Damn," said Mimi, "I did not even say boo yet".

Dezzy calmed down, "You don't need to say boo".

"Obviously," replied Mimi.

Dezzy stood in the road with a pout until Dani, who sat in the passenger seat, asked for her star and nerd. Dezzy informed Dani that both were captured.

"Wow," said Jaivva as she laid in the back.

Dani and Mimi insisted that they use Dezzy for bait to get everybody else back. Unfortunately, Dezzy was the only mechanic in the group.

Eyes were rolling as the girls knew they needed to split to get the girls back. Jaivva asked for Dezzy's flashlight to which she informed her that it was dropped by the lake. Dani began calling her "useless".

All Dezzy could do is remind them that she is the mechanic. But the girls did not care. Dani vouched to stay back in safety while the other two journeys back into the cornfield to save the others. After all, Jaivva is the only one who saw where Baphomet took Kiki and Mimi had excellent coordination and navigation.

Mimi was upset due to being selected to go back into the cornfield where she couldn't even put up a fight against the demons. She sucked it up to go after popping the hood for Dezzy.

Mimi and Jaivva swiftly moved through the cornfield, taking long strides without brushing against the corn in the field. Jaivva checked the flashlight and saw it had nearly no charge. After a while of running, the two girls came to a stop.

Jaivva listened in, "What is that"?

Mimi listened in recognizing the children's voice citing seances. Mimi began questioning Jaivva as to whether they should follow the voices or not. Jaivva shook her head, noting they should've recharged the flashlight.

They crept towards the sound of the voices and held the flashlight up to hopefully shine out a dim light if attacked. They came closer to the voices of children until finally, the seance stopped.

Jaivva and Mimi quickly ran until they saw a giant alter with each of their friends caged in separately. Each one was terrified by the terror curse to the point of minimal movement. Nothing else was around. Blood painted symbols were upon the altar. The problem was that there was nobody else visibly around.

They ran over to free Kiki. Mimi removed the oversized latch for her cage. Her body was lifeless and her eyes were pitch black. No matter how hard Mimi smacked her, she didn't snap out of her curse.

Jaivva ran over to free Vanessa. As she approached the cage, it was hurled at her. Jaivva was knocked down.

Asmodeus came from behind Vanessa's Cage. Kiki and Jaivva remained on the ground as Mimi ran off leading the demon into a chase.

Mimi shivered while smacking through the cornfield. Surely if she got away, Jaivva and Kiki could get up and save the others. Afterward, they could save her.

Agares yanked Mimi by the back of her neck, and threw her to the ground. His gator rested on top of her while he himself smashed her head down a few times. Asmodeus watched, puffing his breath from all three of his noses.

During the failed rescue, Dezzy was fixing the car. She had minimal lighting but was skilled enough to still install the new engine. Dani looked around as she had nothing to do. The tire was already on and the gas was filled. She paced herself around the car to keep an eye out for potential threats. But the road was bright from the street lights.

"What was that?" asked Dezzy as she was putting down the hood.

After a moment of looking around, Dani bickered that Dezzy was playing around. When the streetlights went off, it was a clear sign that wasn't the case.

Dani ran into the car just before Baphomet slammed on top. Unlike Agares, Baphomet was able to inflict his terror instantly. Dezzy trembled backward staring up at the demon Baphomet.

Dani looked around the car for a possible flashlight but didn't see any form of light except a lighter. Baphomet grabbed Dezzi by her throat and flew away.

Dani cried remembering how her parents burned and died while she sat in the back. Sure she was younger then. But the trauma still existed and Dani still felt helpless today.
