23 The Quick Draw

Logan and Teddy both stood 50 meters apart with Oaka managing the Quick Draw. Many other Isekai Game Players watched from afar.

Oaka spoke, "Alrighty players. Get ready fo-... Officer Teddy, can you please remove your hand from your weapon? It is unlawful to start with your hand on your weapon".

Teddy shook his head and removed his hand. Carter put his head down as his fears were coming true.

The Oaka system then spoke again, "Alrighty players. Get ready for your QuickDraw match. Both players must remain in a combat stance at all times, standing 50 meters apart. Nobody out of the match may interfere, nor will they be interfered by the match itself. Neither player may use any weapon other than a revolver. And neither player must begin with their hand on their weapon. Are both players ready"?

Both Logan and Teddy confirmed their agreement to the rules.

Oaka then pulled out a red flag and said, "With the dropping of this flag, the Quick Draw will commence".

Oaka held the flag high and began to drop it. But before the flag dropped both Teddy and Logan were bouncing around with their revolvers in hand.

Oaka then spoke, "May I please have both players back in their starting positions. Both must wait for the flag to drop before starting".

Logan and Teddy sniffed at each other before returning to their positions.

Oaka repeated himself again and held the flag up. Both Logan and Teddy were shaking with anxiety to shoot the other one early.

The flag dropped and both Logan and Teddy drew their revolvers. Logan held both hands onto his revolver and fired till he was empty. To almost everybody's amazement, he missed every shot.

When Teddy fired his revolver at his hip, it simply clicked.

"Oh my God," said Carter as he wiped his face.

Logan began reloading while Teddy started observing his gun, "Wait a second. This is not my gun".

Carter looked over and sarcastically asked, "Wow, how did you ever lose your own gun"?

Mike laughed, "Did you seriously lose your gun".

Teddy laughed, "Yeah. The gun I had was one of those cool cop guns. This ugly thing doesn't even work. Let me use one of your guns"?

Logan began firing the second set of rounds at Teddy as he stood there, yet missing every shot.

Oaka stated, "It is illegal to use or swap weapons with somebody outside of the game. Doing so will result in an immediate disqualification".

Carter looked up into the sun, "I can't believe this is happening. Somehow my team leader let his gun get stolen and now he is here making a fool of himself in front of everybody".

Logan was reloading when Mike yelled, "Come on man! you still got this! Just get close and beat him with your gun"!

Teddy looked over at Logan who was getting ready to fire his third set of rounds, "I ain't doing that".

Carter sadly stated, "They must stay 45-50 meters apart at all times. Unfortunately this embarrassment will only continue".

Teddy threw his arms up, "Well what am I suppose to do"?

Mike answered, "Fix your gun".

Teddy started to search his inventory, but Carter answered, "He doesn't have a repair kit".

Teddy confirmed after a full search, "I don't have a repair kit".

Benji who was leaned against the carriage shook his head, "Then just dodge everything and let it end in a draw".

Teddy stood there until finally, Logan had hit him with a bullet. But Teddy was wearing a bulletproof vest.

"Disqualified for the use of an illegal weapon. Logan of The Wild Bunch is the winner," announced Oaka.

Carter shouted, "You're just as low as he is"!

Mike asked, "Where're our bulletproof vests"?

Logan flipped his revolver and popped his hip to the side as a victory pose. Jeff faintly clapped as Andres laughed at Logan's humiliating win.

Carter walked a few meters ahead of Teddy and made an announcement, "It is hereby declared that The Wild Bunch is innocent. Their bounties will be removed and they will be allowed to walk free. Nothing more".

"Why?" asked Teddy.

"Because of your nonsense. Besides... they are innocent".

Teddy threw his hands took off with his men. Jeff and Andres walked up to Logan and patted him on the back.

"How did you break his gun?" asked Jeff.

Logan smirked, "I swapped it when I gassed their carriage".

"Genius," said Andres, "And just in time for the girls to see".

Jeff and Logan looked into the crowd and noticed Vanessa, Jaivva, Dani, and Hakim mingling. The team ran over with Vanessa giving him a hug. It was Jeff who brought the cheer to an end to investigate the outskirts.

It was a surprise to Vanessa and Jaivva that the celebration was ending. Surely they should celebrate Logan defeating a top player. Hakim clarified that Logan is a top player who has defeated each of the El Chales team members in fair combat except Carter.

It shocked them more when Andres made clear that El Chales was already a pro team set to play in Tallahassee next August. Logan was nodding his head when Jaivva reassured him that they will take him to pro.

However, Logan's real concern was getting to the outskirts as Jeff had suggested.
