Let There Be Light
Thick chains trailed down the hall past his tracks. The rust scratched into the floor. Blood from self-incision dripped stained the ground he walked on.
Jeff struggled to carry Dani away. His arms felt bruised as though beaten with a hammer. Likewise, Andres had attempted to carry Leira away despite the burns and itches that ran along his back. The weight of the thin girl felt like that of the obese demon himself. Each step holding him back like shackles to his ankles.
No matter how many times Andres had turned back to face the skinless demon, it had always got back into the chase.
Dani shook her head along any body part that she could. It didn't help any. But Dani's distrust refused to give up.
Jeff fell to the ground ready to give. Andres tripped over, dropping Leira. She failed to reach for her bow. The effects weighed even more so on her arms to the point of remaining flat.
