Damn Goats
Nana lashed at the goats, charging them through the main exit where they killed the two soldiers. They raged forward, bypassing all potential threats. Kiki raised her shield, yelling for Nana to go faster.
Goats were pack animals. Typically used to get through tough terrains like mountains and deserts. Despite the disappointment, Kiki felt blessed to be getting away. Given that it was the first town, it shouldn't be that hard to escape.
Hearing the soldiers shout across town changed her heart. Numbers and letters were yelled across, giving direction to each of the soldiers from neighboring roads.
"Don't worry," said Mimi from within the cart, "We got this. We're gonna whip these goats and get out of here".
Kiki held the map up, getting ready to direct Nana to a left turn coming up. A hoard of soldiers, each wielding spears and shields, jolted across the road to pierce through the carriage. Wooden chips fell out as the wagon flew across the road.
