Absolem
The closer Vanessa came to the smoke, the more mushrooms she noticed growing throughout the forest. They were all roughly her height. Some were growing on leaves or grass. It made her question their importance.
Obviously, in the story, it was the mushrooms that made Alice shrink and grow. But there was no real way to replicate that and Vanessa had already shrunken without anything. A cheating maneuver indeed. Yet, a worthy note to jot down.
Smoke clouded the air above Vanessa's head. Something she found to be disgusting. It was already making her cough. She kept under one mushroom or another as she looked around for Absolem to avoid the smoke.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" called a deep voice.
"Hmm?" Vanessa looked up and around, "Who's there"?
The man kissed his teeth, "Quit acting like you don't know me"!
Vanessa stepped back, laying her eyes on a giant red caterpillar, "Why, I don't ever recall meeting a caterpillar before".
