Tracy and Elizabeth made me stand in front of them while they checked me out. Girl you look beautiful. with this look that spark is bound to happen Tracy said. I smiled God knows I don't want any spark with Carl. The only reason why I have taking my time to dress up, was because I had a feeling Ray would be there too and if he said Wow when we went for the award night, I was wondering what he would say today. In fact I only agree to go because I saw it as an opportunity to see Ray.

Carl did not have to call me out when he come over to my apartments to pick me up that evening. The time was 6:35pm but the day was a bit bright. I heard my neighbors announce him. Carl, Carl Carl I heard from every conner. So I knew he was there, I piped though my window and I could see him taking picture with them. I picked up my purse and got set to leave. Don't you want to take pictures with Carl I ask my friends who where standing by the window smiling.

No, I can never let my Carl see me like this, I feel stressed and tried. we both look pale Tracy said. have fun and make sure that spark happen. Then we can take pictures anytime we want Elizabeth said with a smile.

I nod my head and walked out of the apartment. Wow Carl said as soon as he saw me. You look amazingly gorgeous he said. I smiled thank you. I was about to compliment him too but someone brought his phone and he turn to receive the call. Yeah sure he said. I am on my way. Alright then he ended the call.

We arrived at the party with the other CREW. The record label they were signed in was having their thirtieth anniversary celebration. I step out of the car and I saw Ray and the rest doing same. It was a red carpet invent . Cameras where every where. We took some photo and God I was feeling so shy. Carl held my hand and it kind of gave me some courage.

I kept stealing looks at Ray, who did not bother to look at me. Some people from the media come to ask some question. No question was directed to me and I was so great full for that. Carl did most of the talking. While Ray and the rest basic nod in agreement. The only thing I heard Ray say was he was happy beginning a part of the record label.

When I thought it was over someone asked "Carl who is this pretty lady with you tonight" my heart beat fast for an unknown reason. I will say just one thing, she is special to me he said. I blink my eyes I did not believe my own ears C,arl barely knew me how could he call me someone special in front of everyone. Plus the show was going to be shown live on television.

Carl signal me that we should go inside. As I followed his leading some one stop him to take a picture with him. I used the opportunity to try to look at Ray. When I turned around my eyes meets his. It kind of send a shiver all over my body. Was this just a crush or something else. He was looking as handsome as always. Our eyes stayed locked for sometime and then he looked away and Carl took my hands and we walked inside.

All though the rest of the time I was there, I thought about how our eyes lock. Ray did not take another look at me. I wonder what was going on in his mind. Carl was all touching and caring. There were a lot of celebrity around and I still kind of find it unbelievable that I was in the same table with the CREW. The CREW and other musicians performed on stage and trust me the evening was fun. Or should I say most part. Carl made me Dances with him. As we danced I took a look at Ray, he had an unexplainable expression on his face. One movie star and singer come to meet Ray and they were talking. It was actually the first time I will see Ray acting so free with a lady. The lady kept touching him and smiling. Ray was smiling too. I wondered what they were talking about. After a while I saw the lady asking Ray to come and dance. I knew this because of the body gesture she made. She also made a failed attempt to move him from his sit.

By 11pm Ray said he wanted to leave, the party was still on. Yeah I should go drop this beauty home too Carl said. Emmanuel and Wilfred were not ready to go. When we got to the car Carl made me look at him and he look at me like he was going to kiss me. My heart was beating fast. Was Carl really into me or it was something else. I was not looking at Rays direction but I knew he was watching. I did not understand why I wish that Ray was the one standing there. Carl looked at Rays and I did too, like I thought he was watching. Then Carl look back at me and he kissed my forehead like Dad use to do, then open the door for me to get into the car.

When I got home My phone started ringing I wonder who was calling me that late. I took the phone from my purse, it was a group call from Tracy and Elizabeth. Why are you ladies still awake by this time? I asked as soon as I pick the call.

How was your evening? Tracy asked without answering my question. It was wonderful I replied taking off my shoes. Details please Elizabeth said. The show was live you should have watched it on the television I answered. I am not asking about the show, I watched every bit of it Elizabeth said. How did it goes with Carl? she asked.

I shake my head and wonder if there was more to the question. Fine I said. Of course it was fine, Carl said she was someone special Tracy said. So tell us did you guys Kiss? Tracy asked. No we did not I answered. That strange Tracy said. I think Carl does not want to rush things Elizabeth said. I deep my hands into my heir wondering why they even thought we will kiss. Ah! my friends were one in a million. I am sure they will sell me to Carl without thinking twice. Ladies I am tired we can have the rest of this discussion tomorrow or Sunday. Or even Monday I said. Okay, they replied and I hang up.
