THE INFINITE

What is Infinity?... a Number, a Being, or maybe... just maybe... something much more extraordinary... This is the story of Meng Tian, a normal high-school student, who stumbled into an amazing reality much like his own. Meng Tian was an ordinary sixteen year old boy who accidentally fell into a world where a unique energy was taking form and changing the environment. Modern day humans were focused on improving their body strengths to fight mutated beasts on land to keep everyone safe. As he was trying to wrap around his head on what was going on, a blue screen appeared in front of him showing his body parameters as a Status. And he did not need to do much to improve his body, his martial techniques, etc. All he had to do was watch, learn and survive... marching towards an infinite set of possibilities -- Hey there!! Watch and Learn

[Basic Sword Experience +10]

Meng Tian was shocked to see that he got the Experience Points just by watching Teacher Tiao perform the Basic Sword Technique. He was ecstatic by this discovery. 'Maybe I can learn other weapon techniques too?...'

After Teacher Tiao left the Sword group, they began to practice by themselves. Fatty Li used Hammers and went on to learn the Basic Hammer Technique. Meng Tian also went to a corner by himself holding a wooden sword. But, all of his concentration was on Teacher Tiao as she performed the five weapon techniques one after the other. After about an hour, she finished teaching the students. When she was thinking to check their progress, she saw Meng Tian intently gazing at her. She was an experienced woman and quickly noticed that although Meng Tian was staring at her, it was entirely out of curiosity without any ill-intent. So, she ignored him and went on to mind her own business.

What Teacher Tiao didn't know was that Meng Tian had only been staring towards her because when she finished teaching, he summoned his Status screen to have a look at the new Experiences that he had gathered.

'Hahaha... Just as I thought, this is awesome. I can learn any techniques just by observing them. But there seems to be a limit on how much I can learn by observation. While reading, I did not face such a limit... This must be because I was actively performing the action of reading and understanding. I really want to see what happens if any one of these Experiences reaches hundred. I'll go home and read as much as possible in all my subjects to see what happens. Maybe I can bring the Mathematics Experience to a hundred tonight... Now, let me see how useful a Sword Experience of ten really is...'

Meng Tian started practicing the 8 moves of the Sword, one by one. He drew the sword holding it with both of his hands, moved a little bit forward with his right leg holding the sword upright, and made a sudden motion dropping the sword from the top in a fluid motion. Just as the wooden sword was halfway down, he moved it sideways to perform a quick slash and finally finished the move off by thrusting it forward. The three offensive moves- Cut, Slash and Thrust executed in one swift attack. This all happened in just a couple of seconds that no one paid any attention to it.

The defensive moves were more difficult because defending against an imaginary enemy needs more focus. So, Meng Tian imagined an enemy coming towards him with a deadly attack and he drew his sword again to intercept the enemy's sword. Just as the enemy tried to move his sword, Meng Tian made a twisting motion and forced the enemy to lose his grip on the sword and disarmed him. Finally he put his sword back in the sheath. Although imaginary, as he executed the series of moves, Meng Tian felt like he was using up the entire energy of his body.

He felt that his body would collapse if he practiced any further. Only now did he realize how weak his constitution really was. 'I should eat more and add some Energy Points to all my body parameters as well. Otherwise, it would be useless no matter how many Experiences I gather. I won't be able to use them for long...'

Meng Tian stopped his training and wanted to relax in his corner. Just as he was about to sit down, Teacher Tiao's voice came from behind, "Mr. Meng, I don't suppose you were thinking of slacking off in my class, were you?" Meng Tian's body turned stiff and cold sweat started drenching his back as he turned and looked at the cold yet charming eyes glaring at him. He immediately replied, "No Ma'am. I just thought that I saw some bug on the floor and wanted to take a closer look to kill it."

Teacher Tiao was puzzled by the lame excuse, 'I knew this student never paid much attention in my class this entire year. I thought that he just did not want to attend college and just wants to graduate high school. But even after all this time, I have not seen any improvement in his technique. If this continues, he will definitely fail my class. Today he is interested in class for the first time. I should hit while the iron is hot. I'll whack some sense into him so that he can use at least some time to practice every day.'

Looking at the Teacher looking at him like prey, Meng Tian couldn't help but shiver. He carefully called, "Teacher Tiao?" She came back to her senses and said, "Let's see how much you have improved over the year. I hope you show me some skill, otherwise I will assign classes for you to learn the sword over the entire summer vacation. Come, draw your sword!"

Teacher Tiao performed the same move as earlier and attacked Meng Tian. As he had already practiced, Meng Tian thought that he could easily dodge the cut motion. But no matter how he moved, he saw the sword swinging down on to him like a death blade. When it neared his head, he used his entire body's strength to shift slightly to the side dodging it. This movement sapped more of his energy and he quickly lost his balance falling down and went unconscious. Teacher Tiao was first stunned upon watching Meng Tian dodge her sword. But she had excellent sword control and stopped her sword just before it hit his shoulder. She wanted to continue with another move in response, but Meng Tian fell down and closed his eyes. She quickly approached him and sprinkled some water on his face to wake him up. She secretly sighed to herself thinking, 'This kid is too weak but he might become a good Sword Apprentice candidate if he improved his Stamina.'

Meanwhile, Meng Tian was startled by a blue screen pop-up in front of him.
