Elemental Water Affinity

"I have only unlocked the [Elemental Water Affinity] talent after watching Principal Ren execute it today. It looks that talents can be directly acquired and doesn't seem to follow the path of the skills."

"To acquire any skill, the first step is to get some Experience by observing someone who executes that skill or reading its corresponding manual, the second step is to practice enough and fill the Experience to a hundred, which will finally generate the corresponding level 1 skill."

"It makes sense though. I can get a lot experiences by observing and reading. That doesn't mean that I want to obtain all of those skills. Although I'd like it, the cost of Energy Points is too much. And I have to increase my Spirit stat to strengthen my soul in order to learn more number of skills. So, it's best that I stick to some skills which I really need... for now."

Meng Tian was currently left with 328 Energy Points. He wanted to use some of them to improve his water talent. He started adding points gradually again and as he added the 100th Energy Point, his Soul felt a sudden tremble.

In the dark consciousness space in his mind, he observed that a huge amount of blue light dots began to gather in front of his Soul body. After all of it had gathered, his Soul started to compress all of it into a water ball the size of a fist, and swallowed it whole.

As soon as his Soul swallowed the water ball, it began to grow in size and only stopped after it grew about twice as much as it had been before. Meng Tian felt like the quality of his Soul had changed becoming much more gentle... And a prompt appeared in front of his eyes.

[Elemental Water Affinity Lv.2 (0/100)]

He felt his entire being refreshed and felt a real affinity towards water. He could feel the water elements in the air much more distinctively. He waved him to collect all of them together in his hand creating a floating water ball. He couldn't do anything more than that but he would probably never go thirsty again in life.

When he observed the change in his Soul, he checked to see if there was any change in the Spirit Stat. To his surprise, there was no change but he felt like he could learn about ten times more skills than he could before. This really changed his perspective on the importance of Talents.

------------------------------------------

He was finally left with 228 Energy Points which he wanted to use in the case of any emergency. So, he went downstairs but his parents were late today. The maid had already prepared dinner which he sat and finished. He did not have any plans for the night, but he was too energetic to just sleep off.

So, he started browsing the internet to download all kinds of books and started reading. He was constantly gaining Experiences in different areas of cultures, histories, languages, technologies, sciences, etc. Because of his increased stats, his ability to memorize, analyze and understand things had increased dramatically.

The next morning, he was woken up by his mother again. When he opened his eyes, he saw his mother glaring at him. "Why did you fall asleep on the chair again? Do you really have to study that hard? You only need to pass high school. I am happy that you are taking your studies seriously. But that doesn't mean that you are allowed to ignore your health. At least, sleep on the bed."

Meng Tian was now wide awake and hurriedly started apologizing, "I'm sorry, Mom. I was just so immersed in reading, that I got tired and slept off on the chair. I'll keep in mind not to strain myself too much. Please don't worry." His mother finally put away her anger and sighed, "Alright. Freshen up and get ready for school."

Meanwhile at school, Principal Ren was going through some files in his office when he heard the office door open and a tall muscular man walked in. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt, black goggles, khaki shorts and flip-flops. "Old Ren, this better be worthy of me being called here. Now, where's that little punk?"

Principal Ren just chuckled and said, "Looks like the island life has gotten to you. Did you just fly in?"

"Yeah, yeah... Not everyone gets to chill out like you do. I am on constant patrol against those nasty things. Ugh... Anyway, what's up with you and who's that punk that broke the crystal sphere?"

"Old Han, it's like this...", Principal Ren narrated all that had happened yesterday, about Meng Tian and his crazy improvements in physique and martial techniques. Martial General Han Yufei had a serious expression on his face.

"It looks like this kid has met with some kind of a lucky encounter... If so, this will be a little troublesome... It's best if his natural talent for water is as good as you said. Otherwise whatever encounter he had might not necessarily belong to him alone."

Principal Ren also had a cold expression on his face. "I have already checked the energy movements in his body. He is not using any breathing techniques that we know of. It looks like his body is naturally attuned to the energy around us. He may very well be a genius born with a flawless body."

"The elemental crystal also showed his incredible water talent. If he really had a breathing technique that I couldn't detect, the moment the crystal touched him, there would have been a slight disturbance in his energy movement, out of his control. I didn't see that as well. This is one simple thing that cannot be masked."

"So, I believe that his flawless body had somehow awakened, resulting in all of his improvements the past few days. We have seen this happen before like that kid from the Eagle country. Now that our country has produced someone with such a talent, it's a real blessing. If any of those old fogeys try to hatch up some schemes against Meng Tian, I will make sure that an example is made for everyone to see."

Han Yufei was surprised by the resolve in his old friend's eyes and sighed a little. "So... It really is Old Meng's family. Alright, I'll stand by your side. Anyway, this kid has yet to become a Martial Apprentice, so we still have time. Hmm... Master has been in seclusion all this while trying to find the path. Let's see if this kid can catch his eye."
