17 . Holding The Fort Part 4

POV: T-9I

The trap had worked perfectly. The human had followed her exactly where she wanted and all that was left for him was death .

The T-9R she had called for back up had arrived at the perfect time.

"Da da da da da da da da da da "

The T-9R opened fire on the human , unleashing a volley of the assault cannons red energy bullets .

Her own attack fired of at the same time , a blue blast energy that impacted the human body .

The T-9I used her damaged sensors to scan for a life signature where the human body had been thrown back .

Surprisingly, the acid mixture had been very effective on her body with how horribly everything seemed to be working .

" Give me cover as I complete the mission . "

The T-9I said as it continued crawling towards the space rift. The mission was of more importance .

It's scanners had picked up the stable heat signature at the location where the body had landed .

' Crack crack crack '

The T-9I looked back as the sudden noise broke through the normal forest sound .

The human walked out of the smoke that had covered him before . 

The only change that seemed to signify the firepower that had landed on him was his torn clothes ,

His body was covered with a crystal membrane That was cracked on several places .

" T-9R, change your mission objective to Eliminate the human ." T-9I had finally understood the threat the human was to their objective .

T-9R glowed red and started moving forward . The Skynet assault cannon was still aimed at the human target preparing for a second attack .

The human finally did something unnatural. With great agility, the human scaled the tree beside him with great speed . 

His fingers dig into the tree's trunk as he started to jump from tree to tree becoming a blurry after image that the T-9R could not lock onto . 

The human did all these while also shooting back at the T-9R . Three precise pistol shots landed on the T-9R'S eyes and did absolutely nothing . 

The T-9I had moved near enough to the space rift that it started transmitting the information back to the future . Her eyes were still on the ongoing battle as she maintained a distance where she could see everything evenly .

The T-9R was keeping the human at bay with the Skynet assault cannon . The human was also doing a good job at using the trees as cover but the fire rate of the assault cannon was one of it's biggest advantage and it was quickly clearing the number of tree platforms the human could use .

The battle was all but in their favor , until it wasn't . 

The human did something that the T-9I thought was impossible . 

Three separate attacks from the terminators standing point all headed towards it . Three grenades had been deflected by the human using the remaining trees that were not shot down and all of them headed towards the T-9R seamlessly .

The speed of the human then suddenly picked up as he disappeared and appeared running towards the terminator on another one of it's side . 

It was a spectacular execution of using the blind spots the human had created . The three grenades would land first on the terminator providing both cover and acting as damage to the terminator . 

The human would then follow with the finishing attack . 

As if !!!!

POV : MIKAEL

Mika was watching everything happen in his slowed down perception . The T-9R was still moving normally . A showcase of it's high capabilities . Mika despite going for the final attack , still maintained a certain level of hesitation in his movement . 

He had realized the terminators were not as intelligent as he thought them to be . They still had a sort of robotic touch in how they did things . A certain awkwardness that was present in their every actions .

That was why Mika was struggling predicting their actions . How was he supposed to handle something that relied majorly on logic and not human based reactions .

A normal human would try to run away when faced with a grenade or at least dodge . But the terminators were not human

His answer to that , being un predictable . Doing an action so stupid that the terminator would question the logical basis of what he was doing . 

The grenades blast would both injure him and the terminator and that was what he was betting on . 

But Mika was still hesitant He was still hesitating . Which would the T-9R choose . which poison would it choose to drink . What attack would it choose to face , him or the oncoming grenades . The T-9R made it's choice . 

And then it finally happened . The T-9R glowed a deep crimson . A red miasma started exude out of the T-9R plasma core after which it was absorbed by the assault cannon covering it in a red glow .

[ BURSTT SHOOTTT !! ]

" DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA "

" BOOOM BOOM BOOM "

The T-9R swung in a wide arc it's firing rate faster than anything it had shown so far . The three grenades were shot down instantly producing a blinding smoke screen that covered the area . 

The T-9R finally stopped in it's arc as it aimed the muzzle of the assault cannon at him. 

The T-9R had finally used the skill that worried Mika . The only move that would damage him enough to retreat . The only move that came into existence when he T-9R held the assault cannon . 

[ Burst shot - increases the firing rate of the assault cannon to 50% of it's normal firing rate . The user will have zero recharge rates at this rate and all shots fired will have the piercing state and burst damage . WARNING !!! The use of this skill puts the user in a state of exhaustion and energy depletion . The assault cannon will become unusable for 5 minutes after this . ] 

Mika was expectant , he would laugh if the opportunity was right but it was not . 

He could finally use it . The thing that made him confident enough to charge towards the T-9R despite it having this skill . He pulled it from his storage and charged like a madman towards the cannon . 

The final act of the battle was quickly approaching .
