Headstart

"Hm? What did you say?" Victoria asks as she stops to look at where Ray is staring.

"Oh, I was wondering, who is she?" Ray asks while trying to hide his shocked face.

"You don't know who the Goddess of magic is?! She is Marrin! She is a member of the 14 Primus'! How do you not know who she is!" Victoria shouts while looking extremely surprised.

"Oh… I just have never seen a statue of her. Anyway I have to go find a place to stay tonight, goodbye Victoria!"

Ray says as he begins to walk out, and heads towards the cliff.

'She is a deity as well…? I mean it makes some amount of sense, but how has she already begun to be worshiped? I just arrived! Did she get a headstart?!'

Ray thinks while trying to make sense of what is going on. He arrives back in his territory after a while.

'Well, I am going to need to read up on her at some point, but first, I need to make some form of shelter here…'

As he thinks that, a transparent card appears that says

[Intelligence of 40 needed to gain the skill. 'Construction']

'Damn… I won't have many attribute points after this… Oh well.. Put 4 attribute points into intelligence'

[Points allocated! Current intelligence, 40]

[Skills gained! Construction lvl 1, Alchemy lvl 1, Foraging lvl 1, Forging lvl 1]

"Yes! It was definitely worth the 4 points!" Ray says with a smile.

'Now how do i cut down trees? Hm… I might be able to control my mana more now that I have a technique. Alright let me try focusing it'

He closes his eyes as he begins to focus on the feeling of using his mana before.

As he does, it feels slightly different, it feels more pure and powerful now. He attempts to channel it into his hand, as he does another transparent card appears that says,

[Skill gained! Mana Infusion lvl 1]

[Mana infusion: You can focus mana into your hands or a handheld object that will heighten its damaging properties, such as making it easier to cut. Cost depends on the amount of mana used]

Ray walks over to the only tree in his territory, and begins to infuse mana into his hand.

'I'll start small and only use one celestial mana for now'

As he swings his hand at the base of the tree, it is immediately cut through, almost as if it was air.

'Well, that was efficient…!' Ray laughs to himself a bit. And begins to cut more trees down outside of his territory.

After 10 minutes of cutting the wood apart back in his territory, he realizes he only needs to use around 8 mana to cut through the wood.

After 2 and a half hours of cutting, building, and securing the building. Ray makes a small shack that is barely big enough for a bed, but it is secure, and water won't come through the top of it.

'Alright, I am halfway to level 3. I should also probably figure out what these perk points do..'

Ray uses the real card and tries to open the perk tree tab, but when he does the cards wording changes to,

[Perk tree will unlock at level 3]

'Well there goes that idea, well might as well make some spears out of this extra wood while I rest.'

Ray makes 12 wooden spears out of some sturdier wood. Then he rests for 2 more hours.

It is now around 9 Pm. and Ray thinks,

'Alright, School won't start until the day after tomorrow, which means I have tomorrow to train and hunt before I go to college.'

He lays down on the ground and starts to drift off, even though he doesn't have to sleep, he might as well. His final thoughts before he drifts off completely are,

'My body is fixed. I guess I was too busy to notice but… this is great!'

Ray wakes up at 6, and gets one of his spears and jumps onto the top of his roof.

'Divine Sight!'

His vision is heightened as he looks around, after 30 seconds he spots a large rabbit that is very muscular, and around 5 feet tall.

The rabbit is about 150 feet away from his shack, and has yet to notice Ray.

'Perfect! Let's try this out. I already know the mana dissipates quickly when the object leaves my hand, but if I infuse enough it may work… lets try 2 celestial mana'

He readies the spear, and after lining it up, throws it. The spear is sent off 275 miles per hour, with a golden glow around it.

The rabbit notices the spear, at the very last second, but it is too late as it strikes straight through its skull.

'Nice, but not that much experience… Well guess I better keep looking'

Ray looks around, and sees a couple more blood rabbits and quickly throws spears at them.

After killing all 6, he sees the transparent card appear again,

'Damn, I guess I can't grind all of my experience off of blood rabbits, I also only have 6 celestial mana left'

Ray continues to look around, but doesn't see anything and jumps down, but when he does, he sees a humanoid creature with purple fog wafting off of it, sprinting at him.

[Accelerated scheming activated!]

The creature arrives in front of Ray and swings at him with its hand in a claw shape.

Ray moves barely out of the way, as he infuses 4 celestial mana into his hand while he slams his palm into the creature's chest.

The Creature is sent flying hundreds of feet back into the forest, crashing through a couple of trees along its way.

The creature staggers as it gets up and continues to sprint.

'Shit! Put 2 points into Celestial mana!'

[Points allocated! Current Celestial mana 4/22]

'I can't leave my territory, I have to wait for it to come…'

The creature continues sprinting, seemingly way faster than before, as it arrives and swings to claw Ray's throat.

'Rapid step!'

Ray speeds up, and dodges the claw by a hair. The creature continues to swing, narrowly missing every time, but doesn't appear to be slowing down.

'Shit, I can't hit it while I dodge…'

Ray moves slightly this time, allowing the claw to graze his shoulder, as he swiftly kicks upwards into the creature's chin, sending it straight up by 50 feet.

'There goes another celestial mana. I have to make sure this next hit kills…'

Ray picks up two spears, as the creature starts falling, Ray leaps up, and sends a spear straight through its heart, and spins to slam the spear through the ground pinning it there.

While using the other spear to pierce the head of the creature. Ray pants heavily as he collapses after using all of his mana.
