Wide Reciever(MC position so I'll explain more about this position than the others)

- Can be lined up on the outside which is the far left and right but also the slot which is set between the Offensive Line and the Outside Recievers

-Generally it's Reciever 1 & 2 who are lined on the outside while Reciever 3 is in the slot however this can change depending on the coaching scheme. The numbers refer to the recievers position in the depth chart

- Route refers to the route the reciever runs in the play picked by the offensive coordinator which can be used as decoy or to score touch downs but the decision in the end comes down to the Quarterback and O coordinator .(I'll try to make it simple.)

- Slant ( Fake run to go straight before quickly changing direction to run across the middle in a diagonal direction to get the first down.)

-Post ( Basically a deeper version of a slant)

-Go route ( Straight run to go deep)

-Fade ( Similar to a Go but you instead are trying to create enough space to get the ball near the sideline)

Curl/comeback ( Run as quick as you can before hitting the brakes and shifting your body to face the reciever and catch the ball)

- inside dig ( Run extremely fast before making a sharp cut to the right and Out is the same thing but to the left)

Tight End - They act as Recieves some time depending on the play and sometimes as Blockers for the Quarterback

Cornerback - They prevent the Wide Reciever from scoring and try to intercept the ball which is often call a Pick and when they take it back for a TD it's called a Pick 6

Safety ( Last line of defense for deep routes similar to cornerbacks)

Running Back ( They typically run the ball but they can receive it too)

Linebacker (There the middle ground between the Safety and lineman, they have hybrid role that involves playing in coverage like CBs to try to intercept the ball and blitzing to tackle RBs and QBs)

Outside Line Backer (Typically they blitz from the outside but the can also play coverage to especially on Tightends and running backs who are going to the flats which is basically a "safe pass" near the sideline.

Inside Line Backer( They play coverage over the middle to prevent slants and similar routes around the middle but can also blitz up the middle)

D-Lineman( They apply pressure on the O-line that protects the QuarterBack and they try tackle the RB and QB to cause a fumble and get the offense the ball)

O-lineman( They protect the QB and create space for the RB to run through)

Kicker (There relied on to score extra points after a team scores a TD which is worth 1 pt but there also relied on to seal the game or clutch the game as of it isn't after a TD it's worth 3 points)

Punter( Similar to Kickers however it's used typically on 4th down when the offense fails to get it going and get the first down and they're out of field goal range(the kickers range)

Downs( A team gets a total of 4 downs to get the ball up 10 yds, for example on 1st & 10 it means it's the 1st down and they need 10 yrs to get up field while 3rd & 16 means it's 3rd down and the team needs 16 yds to get the 1st down ,the downs reset once the down is reached)

Stars and Ranking ( The more stars you have typically the better you are and I know a lot of people say rankings don't matter but they're a good indicator for how good a player is but factors like how big your school is the state you live in and the competition you face goes into it too so basically clout matters but not as much as you might think)

Hey Guys it’s my first novel so let me know if anything should be added or changed.
