Bitter Reunions

(Jared's POV)

Amity Park…

Danny riding home on his electric scooter down the streets as I am doing the same with my hoverboard from 2015 Hill Valley. We can see Fenton Works not too far in the distance.

"Finally. One day where I get home on time without any ghost detours making me miss my ten o'clock curfew." Danny said, happily.

Danny looks at his watch, which reads '9:57'.

"You had to jinx it." I said, while Danny's ghost sense and my ghost sense goes off. "Now you're not going to make it."

"Yeah." Danny said, bringing his scooter and I bring my hoverboard to a stop and looks up at the sky, where we see three old vulture ghosts flying. They phase in and out of three houses, scaring the people inside as they go. "Going ghost!"

"It's Hero Time!" I said, smirking.

Danny drives his scooter and I skate my hoverboard behind a van and goes ghost, then flies up alongside the vultures.

"You fellas look lost. Um, any chance of you staying that way?" Danny asked.

"Mind your own business, fancy pants ghost boy." Vulture Ghost #1 said.

Bus…

The vultures fly down and phase into a bus. Danny and I follow them and land in the aisle of the bus and find the vultures sitting in the seats.

"Hey, we've been circling this town for hours. We could have been halfway to Florida by now. Ask for directions." Vulture Ghost #2 said.

"I know where I'm going!" Vulture Ghost #1 yelled.

"You so do not!" Vulture Ghost #3 said, pointing to Danny and I. "Ask them."

"Ask us what?" Danny asked.

Amity Park…

The vultures fly up out of the bus, and Danny follows them into the air.

"We're on a search-and-destroy mission." Vulture Ghost #1 said, sighing, flying towards Danny and I. "Can you help us find and peck to death this guy here?"

He holds out a torn photo of a younger Jack.

"Jack Fenton?" I asked, looking down at the photo.

"Dad?" Danny asked, looking down at the photo too.

"Ah-ha, see? I told you they'd know where he is." Vulture Ghost #2 said.

I drew out electrical energy out of my body and shot an electrical bolt at Vulture Ghost #1, who dodges the shot.

"Nice try, kid. Get 'em, boys!" Vulture Ghost #1 said, angrily.

The vultures start to quickly circle Danny and I.

"Give it your best shot, guys! I'm a whiz at dodgeball!" Danny said, excitedly.

The vultures stop circling and all charge at Danny and I, who jump out of the way, causing the vultures to crash into each other.

"Okay, technically it's 'dodge-beak', but who cares?" Danny asked.

The vultures recover from their daze and fly after Danny and I, who fly towards a clock tower.

"Danny…" I said, noticing the time on the clock. "Your curfew…"

"Agh. It's almost ten!" Danny said, gasping.

Danny, the vultures, and I spin around the clock tower, and the vultures stop in front of it while Danny and I phase through the side and peeks out from the clock. Danny phases out with me and grabs Vulture Ghost #3's legs.

"Hey!" Vulture Ghost #3 yelled.

"You know that old saying about a bird in the hand?" Danny asked, spinning the vulture around and hits other two with him, then throwing him towards them. "Well, neither do I!" The vultures fly away. "And don't go messing any windshields on your way out of town!"

The torn picture of Jack floats down from the vultures and Danny catches it, then looks at it.

"I wonder why those guys were trying to waste Dad." Danny said, while the clock chimes ten behind us.

"Danny, Jack." I said, when Danny flinches and turns to look at the clock.

"Oh, no. Dad." Danny said, sadly.

(Open POV)

Fenton Works…

Danny opens the front door and peeks inside with Jared, then looks up to find Jack and Maddie with their arms crossed, looking upset.

"You're late again, young man." Jack said.

"Oh, poop." Danny said, frowning.

"Speaking of poop." Jared said, when bird poop suddenly hits the back of Danny's head. "They took it literally."

Danny turns to glare at the vultures as they fly off above him and Jared.

Fentons' living room…

Danny is sitting sullenly on the couch, Jared is playing Splatoon 3 on his Nintendo Switch, and Jazz is in a chair reading a book. Maddie is standing while sternly lecturing Danny, and Jack is working on a large green invention that looks like a giant hot water heater.

"Danny, this is becoming a problem. You're constantly late coming home…" Maddie said.

"You're shirking from your chores…" Jack said, peeking out around the invention.

"Your grades are slipping…"

"You're shirking from your chores…" Jack said, peeking out again.

"You already said chores." Danny said.

"I know, but when you don't do 'em, I get stuck with them."

"Look, I'm under a lot of pressure. You two have no idea what it's like to be a kid today!" Danny said, angrily.

"Come on, Danny. That's the oldest excuse in the book." Maddie said, while Danny sits down and leans his elbow against the couch's armrest. "There's nothing you're going through…" Danny's elbow phases intangible and he falls into the armrest. "…that your father and I didn't go through when we were your age."

Danny panics and Jared covers his arm with his free hand, but quickly recovers and turns it tangible again before anyone sees, "Yeah? Well, I beg to differ."

"The reason Danny doesn't think you can relate to him is that you never take the time to tell him about your childhood!" Jazz yelled, closing her book and looking up.

"Jazz!" Danny said, annoyed.

"Well, did you ever tell Danny about how you met?" Jared asked, looking up from his Nintendo Switch. "About your first date. I know it because I do."

Jack walks out from behind the invention and stands next to Maddie, both pondering over what Jazz and Jared are saying.

"Jazz! Jared!" Danny said, annoyed.

"Where you went to college?" Jazz asked.

"You know, Jasmine, Jared, that's a great idea!" Jack said, excitedly.

"It is?"

"What is?" Maddie asked.

"This is!" Jack said, holding out an invitation to a college reunion party for the University of Wisconsin. "You can come with…" He pulls Maddie close. "…your mother and I to our college reunion."

"I...can?" Danny asked.

"Wisconsin?!" Jazz exclaimed.

"Can I come to Wisconsin?" Jared asked, his Nintendo Switch in his hand.

"Sure! My old pal Vlad is throwing a huge shindig there. We'll take the RV so the whole family can go together. You can learn more about your mother's and my college days, and while we drive…" Jack said, leaning down in Jazz's face, smiling. "…I can blather on about ghosts!"

The invention Jack was working on suddenly dings and rumbles, and the hose attached to it waves around and shoots green goo on Jazz's head. She glares angrily.

"Haha!" Jack said, raising his arms victoriously. "It works! I can't wait to blather on about that, too."

RV…

The RV driving down the road. Jazz is sitting next to Danny and across from Jared in the back of it.

"How does this happen? You goof up with Jared, and I have to spend four days jammed in the Fenton Ghost RV?" Jazz asked.

Up front, Jack is driving and Maddie is reading a map.

"That's the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle, folks. Every button in this baby is a ghost's worst nightmare." Jack said.

"Ugh. I need some air." Danny said, going to press a button.

"Danny! No! Don't press any buttons!" Jared said, worried.

Several weapons suddenly appear on the outside of the GAV. A laser shoots a chunk out of a tree, another weapon freezes a bird mid-air, causing it to fall, and another laser zaps a guy talking on his cell phone while driving, charring his face. A hose then waves around and once again shoots green goo on Jazz's head.

Jazz glares at Danny, "I'll get you for this."

Truck stop…

The GAV is parked for the night. The Fenton family and Jared are lined up together in sleeping bags in the back.

"Get some rest, everybody! I want the entire Fenton clan and their friend bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when we meet Masters tomorrow." Jack said.

"Wait, wait, wait." Jazz said, holding up her hand. "Masters? As in Vlad Masters? Who was named Affluence Magazine's 'Billionaire of the Year?'"

"That's the guy! In college, he was my best friend." Jack said.

Jared thought of a smiling Jack and Vlad in college, while other students humiliated them in the background.

"We were very popular guys. Roommates, lab partners, we did everything together. Until the thick fingers of fate stuck themselves right in Vlad's eyes." Jack said.

University lab in the '80s…

College-age Vlad, Maddie, and Jack are wearing lab coats and observing a small proto-portal on a table. Vlad is pondering over it, while Maddie and Jack seem pleased about it.

"I'm telling you, Jack, it won't work." Vlad said.

"Bogus, V-Man! It totally will! This Proto-Portal is guaranteed to bust open the wall into the ghost dimension." Jack said, happily.

Vlad, still skeptic, peers through the portal for a better look. Meanwhile, Maddie and Jack walk over to another table, where Maddie looks over a stack of papers while Jack picks up the remote for the portal.

"Jack, these calculations aren't right." Maddie said, noticing something wrong on the papers.

"Banzai!" Jack said, not paying attention and activating the portal with the remote.

The portal starts up and swirls green in its center, but then something goes wrong and it shoots out an ectoplasmic blast that hits Vlad right in the face.

"Aaah! Bogus!" Vlad said, screaming.

The blast stops, and Vlad grabs his face with both hands. His hair has turned from black to white and there is green smoke coming off his head. He turns towards Maddie and Jack and drops his hands from his face, causing the other two to gasp. His face is covered with pimples and his eyes are glowing an electric blue.

Truck stop…

"He was hospitalized with a horrible case of ecto-acne." Jack said, thinking about College Vlad covering his face again. "It devastated him…" He then thought about College Vlad runs off. "…and killed his social life." Jared closed his eyes and fell asleep. "We haven't spoken since that day. But the good news is, I think after all these years, he's finally forgiven me."

Danny looks away from Jack with a worried look on his face and Jared looked down at the floor, thinking about what to do next.

(Jared's POV)

Vlad's mansion…

The GAV pulled up to Vlad's mansion in Wisconsin the following day. The Fenton family and I walks up the front steps as Vlad steps out to greet us.

"Jack...and Maddie! You've never looked lovelier, my dear." Vlad said, ushering Maddie, Danny, Jazz, and I inside. "Please, please, come in."

We go inside the mansion, leaving Jack outside.

"Vladdie, my man! It's good to…" Jack said as the door slams in his face, cutting him off. "Hello? Hello?!"

We are walking into Vlad's entrance hall, which is decorated in green-and-gold and filled with Green Bay Packers' football memorabilia.

"What's with the green and gold? You're a billionaire! Surely you could afford an interior designer." Jazz said.

"Jazz, we are in Wisconsin. And Vlad is a Green Bay Packers fanboy." I said, wearing my hoodie and jeans. "There's football helmets, jerseys, and cheeseheads, everywhere. I watched enough football games over the years to at least distinguish the team colors."

"Hello?" Jack asked, still outside.

"Oh, 'fanboy' is such a negative word." Vlad said, placing a hand on my hand, before raising his hand. "But, yes."

"I don't understand. You have billions of dollars! Instead of buying this stuff, why don't you just buy the team?" Jazz asked.

"Because the Packers are owned by the city of Green Bay and they won't sell them to me!" Vlad said, irritated, before regaining his cool, and looked at Maddie next to him. "One of two things my wealth has not as of yet…" He chuckled. "…been able to acquire."

Maddie smiles innocently at Vlad.

"Is he hitting on Mom?" Danny asked, looking over at Jazz.

"As long as he's got working toilets, and Mom says no, who cares?" Jazz asked, walking away.

"I'd, uh…" Maddie said, uncomfortably, still under Vlad's gaze, before pointing at the door. "…better let Jack in."

"That's probably for the best." I said and Maddie walks away.

Danny notices an autographed football, "Whoa, cool!"

"Indeed." Vlad said, picking up the football. "This ball was autographed by the legendary Ray Nitschke himself." He hugs the football to his face. "It's my prized possession."

"Heads up, V-Man!" Jack said, barging in and tackles Vlad to ground; grabs football. "Ha! I see you've still got the old moves."

Jack stands up.

"Old moves? Bit rough on Vlad." I said, pulling Vlad off the ground with my hand.

Vlad snatches football back, angrily.

"Give me that!" Vlad said, putting the football back on pedestal. "I never had any old moves! All those years in the hospital robbed me of that!"

The Fenton family and I looked at Vlad silently, surprised and worried over his outburst.

Vlad composes himself again, "Yes. Well, it gave me time to chart out a course for my life, didn't it? Make some decisions that helped to make me very wealthy, very quickly. And it never would have happened without you, Jack."

"Awkward…" I said, while Vlad smiles creepily.

"Uh, yeah...maybe we should go." Maddie said, uncomfortably.

"Yup! We should go back to the good old Fenton Works!"

"No, no, you should stay with me!" Vlad said, putting an arm around Jack. "That's the whole reason I'm throwing the reunion here in my castle - previously home to the legendary Wisconsin Dairy King." He looked up at a portrait of the Dairy King. "Just so I could...reconnect with you, Jack. I insist you stay."

"Well, I don't know. We do have a really cool RV." Jack said.

"Let's stay here!" Jazz said, faking a cough.

"Smooth." Danny said, sliding a hand through the hair.

"You know, Jack, the Dairy King's ghost could haunt these very halls…" Vlad said.

"I'll get the bags!" Jack said, excitedly.

Jack runs off while Vlad smiles sinisterly.

Guest bedroom in Vlad's castle…

Later that night, where Jack and Maddie are sleeping.

Jack suddenly bolts upright from the bed, "Bathroom."

Vlad's castle…

Jack walks out into the hallway in search of a bathroom, and the vultures from earlier phase down through the ceiling and start to fly after him.

Danny and I are asleep in another room. We suddenly wake up as Danny's ghost sense and my ghost sense goes off.

"Oh, great. Just what we need, Jared, a working vacation." Danny said, annoyed.

"Yeah. I hate those so much." I said, as Danny and I goes ghost and flies off in search of the ghosts.

The vultures are about to attack Jack with their talons when my hands phase up through the floor beneath Jack and grab his legs, turning him intangible. I then phase Jack down through the floor.

"Hey, what gives?" Vulture Ghost #1 asked.

"Thanks for helping me with this, Jared." Danny said, happily.

Danny and I flies his half-asleep dad into the bathroom and flies out.

"Don't mention it." I said, smiling. "As long as your idiot dad is safe."

Bathroom…

Jack wakes up and notices where he is, "Ah! Sweet relief."

Vlad's castle…

Danny and I phase back up to the hallway where the vultures are.

"Hi, guys!" Danny said, punching a fist into his palm. "Remember us?"

The vultures turn and see Danny and I, freak out, and fly away.

"Okay. That was almost too easy." Danny said.

"Way too easy." I said, sadly. "I don't like this one bit."

"Ah, bright boys." Vlad said.

Danny and I turn around to see a new ghost, Vlad Plasmius, floating behind us. Vlad's arms are crossed and he has a smug grin.

"Oh, whatever. I was aiming for the birds, but you'll do." Danny said.

Vlad raises an eyebrow, amused. Danny swings a powerful punch at Vlad, but he grabs Danny's fist in midair. Danny is surprised, and Vlad flings him hard against a wall.

Danny slides down the wall and lands on a table, grabbing his head dizzily, "Whoa."

"Danny, he's fast. You have to stop fooling around and take this seriously." I said, sadly.

Danny launches himself at Vlad again in attack, but Vlad stops him again midair by grabbing him by the throat and throws him down hard to the ground.

"My vultures were supposed to bring the big idiot to me, but you two will do! Danny Phantom and the Black Pearl, right?" Vlad asked, looking between Danny and I.

"You...you know us?" Danny asked.

"Of course I know you two!" Vlad yelled.

Vlad phases backwards through a wall and Danny and I follow him into Vlad's private library.

"The both of you are the ghost boys who use their powers for good." Vlad said, pointing at Danny and I. "How quaint." He gets in Danny's face and my face and flies around us. "Aren't you going to try to shove me into your ridiculous thermos? Or use your electrical shocks to zap me?"

"I...I don't wanna fight you!" Danny said, worried.

"Me too. You're tougher than a Dalek or a Cyberman!" I said, terrified.

"No. No you don't. Neither of you." Vlad said. "And what a compliment coming from you, Black Pearl."

Vlad fires ectoplasmic rays at Danny and I, sending us crashing into a bookshelf.

"Get away!" Danny said, flying up and firing an ecto-blast at Vlad.

"Seriously! Get away from us!" I yelled, tossing an electrical coin into the air and aiming it at Vlad.

"Ah, an ectoplasmic energy blast and a Railgun." Vlad said, blocking the blast and the Railgun with an ectoplasmic shield and crosses arms smugly.

Danny fires more blasts and I fired more Railguns at Vlad, but Vlad casually moves his shield around to block them.

"So...year one." Vlad said, yawning. "And I know of Mikoto Misaka, a child prodigy. A Level One from Academy City. Boring. She's not a Level Five yet."

Vlad's shield disappears, and Danny looks worriedly at his still-glowing hands and I looked down worriedly at th floor.

"Tell me, children, can you do this yet?" Vlad asked, duplicating himself into three other copies.

Danny and I backed away from them.

"No, I can't! And neither can Jared! How are you doing all this?" Danny asked.

"Years of practice, which you two, unfortunately, have no time for." Vlad and his duplicates said, at the same time.

All four Vlads each shoot an ecto-blast at Danny and I, who screams in pain and falls to the floor, then struggles to stand back up. Vlad then continuously attacks us and Danny and I phase back out into the hallway, crashing to the floor.

"Danny…" I said, looking over at Danny, as we tried to stay awake but falls unconscious.

Vlad phases out into the hallway as well just in time to see Danny and I transform automatically back into our human selves.

"One of the ghost boys...is Jack's son? And the other ghost boy is the one that hung out with the PowerPuff Girls?" Vlad asked, surprised.

Vlad transforms back into his human half, Vlad Masters.

"Well, what do you know?" Vlad asked, amused.

Guest bedroom…

Danny tossing and turning beneath his bedsheets and I'm asleep, squeezing his hand.

"No! Get away!" Danny said, waking up and removes the bedsheets from his head to find ourselves back in his bedroom. "Huh? Where am I? What happened?"

"Don't know." I said, opening my eyes. "What did happen, Danny?"

"I was going to ask you the same question, young men." Vlad said, appearing in the doorway, walking into the room.

"Danny, it was a long road trip from Amity Park." I said, yawning. "We're tired. That's all. We'll be fine in the morning. I promise. Danny, say sorry."

"I'm sorry for the scare." Danny said, frowning.

"Oh, what's a little scare between friends, sons, hmm? Sleep tight, little badgers." Vlad said.

Danny and I go back to sleep and Vlad closes the door on his way out.

"Yes, sleep tight." Vlad said, chuckling evilly.

(Open POV)

The next night, people are arriving at Vlad's castle for the reunion. Danny and Jared, now wearing suits, peeks into Vlad's screening room to find Jazz watching old football clips.

"Jazz, aren't you coming to the reunion?" Danny asked.

"What? And watch a bunch of old fossils pogo to new wave music? Pass. Did you know the Packers won the very first Super Bowl?" Jazz asked.

"Whatever." Danny said, leaving.

"Enjoy, Jazz." Jared said, following Danny.

"On a snowy day at Lambeau, Bart Starr faces Butkus and the Bears." The sports announcer said, on the film screen.

Main party in a ballroom…

Danny, his parents, and Jared come in, and Jack looks around before spotting an old classmate, Harriet Chin.

"Hey, Harry!" Jack yelled.

"Ugh." Harriet said, spitting out food. "I'd know that voice anywhere." She walks over to Fentons and Jared. "Jack. Maddie. How nice."

"Danny, Jared, meet Harriet Chin. She's a big-shot reporter for the Milwaukee Journal now, but back in my college days she was just Harry. Harry Chin! Haha!" Jack said, grabbing his head. "Get it?!"

"Jack, not the best pun for your college friend." Jared said, letting out a sigh.

"Jared, I thought you'd like that pun!"

"I'm really sorry, Harriet." Maddie said, looking at Harriet.

"Sweetie, you married him. You should be." Harriet said.

New wave music begins playing.

"Hey, my song! Come on, let's pogo!" Jack said, beginning to pogo while dragging Maddie along with him and runs into people.

"Okay, I'm officially mortified." Danny said, grabbing Jared's hand.

"Believe me, I was. When my grandmother was line dancing at parties." Jared said, rolling his eyes.

"What took so long?" Harriet asked.

Later in the evening, Danny and Jared are sitting at a table looking bored. A party guest pogoes past them, then Vlad walks up to them and puts a hand on Danny's shoulder.

"Well, son, you and your friend are looking much better. I was wondering...if you and Jared could do me a huge favor." Vlad said.

"Oh, sure, Mr. Masters. But call me Danny. 'Son's' what my dad calls me." Danny said.

"Oh, yes, yes, of course. Now, could you and Jared go to my lab, second door on the right upstairs? There's a present in there for your father that I'd like you and Jared to bring down." Vlad said, chuckling.

"Okay!" Danny said, getting up with Jared. "Let's go, Jared."

"Fine…" Jared said, leaving with Danny, while Vlad has an evil smirk on his face. "If only Team RWBY was here right now…"

Vlad turns and glares at Jack pogoing on the dance floor while Maddie and the other guests watch him. Vlad then focuses on Maddie.

"Maddie…" Vlad said, talking to himself. "That lab accident cost me my youthful chance at you, but that's all about to change…"

Vlad's lab…

Danny and Jared are walking into Vlad's lab, looking around for the present.

"Present? I don't see a present." Danny said, sadly.

"Neither do I." Jared said, walking over to a framed picture and motioned Danny to look at it. "Danny. Look at this."

It is a framed picture of college-aged Vlad and Maddie on a table with the top-right corner teared off.

"Hey! Wait a minute." Danny said, reaching into his jacket and pulls out the torn picture of younger Jack the vultures had and realizes it's the missing corner from the picture. "Oh, no." He backed away with Jared. "No way."

Danny's ghost sense goes off and Jared's ghost sense goes off.

"Shit." Jared said, frowning.

Danny transforms into Phantom and Jared transforms into the Black Pearl. They looks around defensively, but the two ectopuses from 'Mystery Meat' suddenly reach down and grab their arms, pulling them up into the air.

"Let go!" Danny yelled, kicking one octopus away.

"I honestly forgot about this. Still tired from the road trip." Jared said, pulling the other ectopus down and slamming it into the floor.

"Those ghosts... Jared, they were two of the first ghosts we fought!" Danny said, worried.

"And they're not alone, puppies." Skulker said, trapping Danny and Jared in two of his nets and shocks them through them, then steps out of the shadows to reveal himself.

"Skulker?!" Danny exclaimed, breaking free from the net.

"He's a pain in our ass." Jared said, using his electrical shocks to break free from the net. "Why can't he leave us alone?"

"I don't know." Danny said, kicking Skulker into some large tank-like units. "How did you get back in your ecto-skeleton? What are you doing here?"

"All excellent questions. Catch!" Skulker said, rolling out two small black cubes towards Danny and Jared which grow and trap them inside two large glowing boxes.

"Huh? Hey! I can't phase out of this. It's disrupting my powers!" Danny said, terrified.

"And mine!" Jared said, trying to use his electrical shocks to try and break free of the large glowing box. "Ugh! This sucks!"

"And that's not all they do." Skulker said, pressing a button on his wrist and the boxes shock Danny and Jared, causing them to scream in pain and transform back into their human selves.

"Shocking." Jared said, rolling his eyes.

In a daze, Danny's head and Jared's head fall forward on the box, but Skulker picks it back up and holds out a glowing green blade from his wrist to Danny's neck.

"Uh, the glowing blade is new." Danny said, chuckling nervously.

"You like it? I've had some upgrades!" Skulker said, casually, before speaking evily again. "Now…"

"Enough!" Vlad said, standing near the lab door. "I didn't free you to kill the boys, Skulker! Your work is done."

Skulker, Danny, and Jared share a confused look before Skulker retracts the blade.

"Yes, well, I…" Skulker said, reading from the PDA on his wrist that beeps and starts typing. "I've gotta go to the library and check out a book on a gorilla. Again!"

"Man, that will never get old!" Jared said, laughing a lot.

Skulker's jetpack activates and he flies up, phasing through the ceiling.

"Skulker? The ectopuses? I don't understand!" Danny said, looking at Vlad.

"Of course not. You're, what, fourteen?" Vlad asked, walking around Danny's box. "Too young to drive and not in college yet?" He is now walking around Jared's box. "At least Jared here has experience by traveling with a madman with a box." Vlad stopped and is now looking between Danny and Jared. "I sent those ghosts, and others, to test your father's skills. Imagine my surprise when I find the two of you, the second and third ghost hybrids his foolishness created."

"Second and third?" Danny asked, while Vlad transforms into his ghost self. "You! I'm going ghost!" Nothing happens. "Going ghost!" Nothing happens again. "Why can't I go ghost?"

"You have a battle cry, and I suppose Jared has a battle cry too, hilarious. I, on the other hand…" Vlad said, patting the box Danny's in. "…have this! A spectral energy neutralizer, designed by Skulker, paid for by me. And as long as the two of you are contained within those boxes, Daniel, you and Jared are as human as your idiot father."

"Let me out of here!" Danny yelled.

"Why? So you, Daniel, can go back to stumbling through your adolescence? And you, Jared, can go back to stumbling through your adventures? Both of you are desperately trying to get control of your powers? And Jared, I know your ghost powers were an evolution of your Semblance which you got from a parallel world. One that is pretty Grimm and not filled with ghosts. Powers, by the way, that I've had for twenty years." Vlad said, as he is demonstrating his powers, including ghost shields, duplication, and invisibility. "I have experience, my children. And the money and power attained through using those powers for personal gain, you see." He splits into three Vlads. "I could train you both, teach the two of you everything I know." Vlad combines back into one. "And all you'd have to do, Daniel, is renounce your idiot father. And all you'd have to do, Jared, is renounce your precious Doctor and Team RWBY."

"Dude, you are one seriously crazed-up fruit loop." Danny said, scoffing. "That is never going to happen."

"It really won't, Vlad. And I agree with Danny, you are one seriously crazed-up fruit loop." Jared said, letting out a sigh. "Team RWBY is safe at Vacuo and the Doctor is somewhere in the universe saving the day. I won't let you lay a finger on them."

"Yes, well, Daniel, once your father is out of the way, and Jared, once the Doctor and Team RWBY are out of the way, we'll see how you two feel." Vlad said, laughing and teleports away.

Party…

Harriet is talking to Jack, who doesn't look interested in anything she's saying, "Then I covered the guerrilla uprising in Rumackistan, got an exclusive with the rebel leader that got raves…"

Jack puts his chin on his drink glass out of boredom, and Harriet notices.

"Am I boring you, Jack?" Harriet asked, annoyed.

"Frankly, yes." Jack said.

Vlad Plasmius phases up invisibly from the floor behind Jack and overshadows him, turning his eyes red.

"So, what do you say we liven up this shindig?" Vlad asked, overshadowing Jack.

"…picks up Harriet and throws her, causing her to crash into the punch bowl table." Jack said, controlled by Vlad.

Maddie runs up behind Jack, "Jack, what's the matter with you?!"

"Why Maddie, didn't you always know I'd turn on you?" Vlad asked, turning around. "That when you chose me you chose wrong?"

Vlad reaches his hands out angrily above Maddie.

"Get out. Get out of me!" Jack said, trying to regain control.

Harriet walks up behind Jack while he struggles with Vlad for control of his body, "I don't know what's come over you, but when I write about this I swear…"

"Ghost...overpowering me. Maddie, run. RUN!" Jack said, clutching Maddie.

Jack floats high above the dance floor as Vlad takes over him again. Several party guests run away screaming.

"He's a ghost? This is the story of the century!" Harriet said, excitedly.

"Come on!" Maddie said, dragging Harriet away from the scene. "We have to get to the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle!" She looked at Harriet, worriedly. "I mean, the RV!"

Vlad's lab…

Danny and Jared are struggling to break free of the box. As they do so, Shirai Kuroko teleports in a flash of blue light with Mikoto Misaka.

"Ugh. River told us you got yourself into trouble." Shirai said, looking at Jared.

"Well, I never expected this." Mikoto said, her hand on her hip. "Need some help?"

"Hey, you're Jared's friends!" Danny said, relieved.

"That we are." Mikoto said, as she and Shirai walked over to the boxes and pressed the 'Open' buttons on the side of them. "This looks easy enough."

"Why didn't you teleport out of there?" Shirai asked, while she and Mikoto freed Danny and Jared.

"I wish I could have, Shirai." Jared said, watching the boxes return to their smaller cube state. "How are things going with the Helicarriers?"

"They're doing good."

"Let us go?" Danny asked, kicking the cubes out of the way. "Well, thank you! But, why?"

"It was either us or the Dairy Queen." Mikoto said, looking away for a moment. "And not all ghosts are evil."

"Sissy's right. They just want to be left alone there." Shirai said, sadly.

"Hey, Mikoto, Shirai, will you help me and Jared fight Plasmius?" Danny asked.

"We still have duties back home." Shirai said, typing in coordinates into her vortex manipulator. "And River called us to rescue her damsel in distress."

"That of course being Jared." Mikoto said, as Shirai pressed the button on the vortex manipulator.

Danny and Jared smile as Mikoto and Shirai disappear in a flash of blue light.

"Thank you, Mels." Jared said, happily.

"Jack!" Maddie said, nearby.

"Dad!" Danny said, alarmed.

Danny goes ghost with Jared and the two of them fly off.

GAV…

Maddie and Harriet are getting into the GAV outside the mansion.

"So, Maddie, when did you first realize your husband was a monster bent on destroying his smarter, more successful, and better-dressed peers?" Harriet asked, holding a record towards Maddie.

"What are you talking about? That jumpsuit is incredibly stylish." Maddie said, driving the GAV straight into Vlad's mansion, passing shocked guests and running into some items.

Vlad's mansion…

Maddie passes by the screening room in the GAV, and Jazz peeks her head out the door.

"I'm guessing we won't be invited back." Jazz siad, sighing.

Dance floor…

Several guests are running out of the room, screaming, and one man jumps out of a window. Jack (still overshadowed by Vlad) is throwing tables around, flying, and scaring people.

"If you live to tell the tale, remember that big, fat…" Vlad said, overshadowing Jack, and hits a man. "…Jack Fenton did this to you!"

"Guess again, cheesehead." Danny said.

"It's really gouda to have you here!" Jared, smirking.

Danny flies in with Jared, with the two of them turning intangible, and they fly through Jack's body, knocking a screaming Vlad out of Jack and phasing them both through a wall. Meanwhile, Jack falls to the floor.

"Nobody uses Jack Fenton as a human meat puppet!" Jack yelled.

(Jared's POV)

Vlad's library…

Vlad, Danny, and I and phasing into Vlad's library as Danny and I knock him in there. I then tries to punch Vlad, but Vlad kicks me away.

"Daniel, Jared, stop. Think about the things I could show you, the doors I could open for the both of you. You, Danny Phantom and the Black Pearl, and I, Vlad Plasmius. Together, we could rule." Vlad said, looking between Danny and I.

"Forget it, pal. Your money can't buy my mom, it can't buy the Packers, and it can't buy me!" Danny yelled.

"It can't buy me either! Yes, I am a goody two shoes. But I am an idiot, passing through, learning. You can give me an army for all I care. But I've got Team RWBY and the rest of my friends. Always them." I said, sending an electrical shock at Vlad who absorbs it with one hand and shoots it back at me with the other hand. I create an electrical shield around myself to block the attack. "I spent enough time with the Railgun to learn some of her tricks and more."

"I know who you are. I'll tell my father. I'll tell everyone." Danny said, pointing at Vlad.

"And so will I. Honestly, if you expose me, you expose yourself and you expose Jared." Vlad said.

Honking from the GAV is heard and Danny and I turn towards the noise.

"Huh?" Danny asked.

The GAV bursts through the wall of the library, with Jack driving now, and Dann, Vlad, and I fly out of its path.

"Mind if I cut in?" Vlad asked.

An intangible Vlad phases his hands down through the top of the GAV and pulls Maddie out of the middle seat.

"Let go of me!" Maddie yelled, and they both turned tangible again.

"Never again, woman." Vlad said.

Danny and I look up at the scene to see Jack get out of the GAV and chase after Vlad who flies away with Maddie in his grasp.

"Maddie!" Jack said, worried.

GAV…

Danny and I turn intangible and phases into the GAV with me sitting in the driver's seat. I looked down at the gear shift.

"Oh, great. It's a stick." Danny said, looking over at me. "Do you know how to use it?"

"Yeah, I do." I said, readjusting the gear shift. "I did spend a hundred years living in the twentieth century."

Harriet only sees the gear shift moving.

"And I wasn't going to come to this thing! Ha!" Harriet said, excitedly.

I got the GAV to move and drove it towards Jack, who is looking up at Maddie who is being dangled by her foot by Vlad up in the air.

"Jack, look out! The RV!" Maddie said, terrified.

Jack dives out of the way of the GAV.

"Sorry, Jack. I have one chance to get this right." I said, swerving the GAV to a stop almost just below Vlad and Maddie. "Which one is the ectoplasmic goo again?"

A laser cannon appears out of the top of the GAV while the steering wheel converts into a weapons-tracker battle mode for me to use. I first fire an 'energy beam' option at Vlad, who knocks it away.

"Nope. That was the energy beam." I said, sadly.

I then shoots 'lightning' at him, but Vlad lets it phase through him.

"Lightning? Not as good as mine." I said, frowning.

Finally, I fire the 'ectoplasmic goo' option, which does hit Vlad as he recoils in disgust and it knocks him back, causing him to drop Maddie.

Vlad's library…

"Jared, you did it." Danny said, quickly phasing out of the GAV and overshadows Jack, then uses him to catch Maddie. "I've got them."

"Jack! You did it!" Maddie said, excitedly.

"It was nothing, Mom…" Danny said, overshadowing Jack. "…uh, Maddie. Sure, heh, Maddie. You make sure Harry's okay…" He sets Maddie down. "…while I finish this."

Maddie runs towards the GAV and I phased out of the GAV while Danny, still overshadowing Jack, lifts a goo-covered Vlad up off the ground.

"How's it going, V-Man?" Danny asked.

"Ooh, Daniel, you've overshadowed Jack. And I bet you, Jared, fired those shots at me. Ooh, I'm so scared. Now what's next? A card trick?" Vlad asked, mocking Danny.

"Listen to me. I swear I'll walk out of my dad right now and expose us both, unless you agree to a truce." Danny said.

"You're bluffing." Vlad said.

"No, I'm not. My parents will accept me, no matter what. But if I expose you...well, what would my mom think of you?" Danny asked, lowering Vlad a bit.

"I know what Maddie would think of you, Vlad. I've seen it. It wasn't pretty." I said, looking down at the floor.

"Of course you would know with your foreknowledge, Jared." Vlad said, making a worried face at the thought of Maddie's reaction. "How bad was it?"

"Pretty bad."

Danny sets Vlad down, "You'll be miserable and alone for the rest of your life, unless you call a truce."

"Using your opponent's weaknesses against him. I am teaching you both something after all. Very well. Truce. Eventually, the two of you will join me by choice. You and your mother, Daniel. And you, Jared. I know how lost you are without Team RWBY But for now…" Vlad said, clearing his throat and floats up dramatically in the air. "Curse you, Jack Fenton! Your world-renowned expertise of all things ghost has defeated me! ...Until next time, sons."

Vlad dramatically screams as he dissipates into a green mist until he disappears. Danny then phases out of Jack's body and flies off with me, while Maddie and Harriet come up to Jack's side.

"World-renowned expertise! Outstanding!" Harriet said, speaking into the recorder.

"Jack! I have never seen you like this! You beat that ghost all the way to Kenosha!" Maddie yelled.

"I did? Aw, heck, I'm just doing my job." Jack said, happily.

Maddie hugs Jack as they smile.

"And mine! Jack, for all the years I thought you were a crackpot, I sort of apologize." Harriet said, while Danny and I, now human, join Maddie and Jack at their side. "Ghosts! This story will make your career - and mine!"

GAV…

It is driving away from Vlad's mansion later that night. Danny is sitting in the passenger seat while Jack drives. Jazz is lying on a bed in the back while Maddie sleeps in another bed across from her. I am busy playing Pokemon Legends A-Z on my Nintendo Switch.

"I can't believe they fired Harry." Danny said.

"Of course they fired her. She tried to file some crackpot story about ghosts. It's the Milwaukee Journal, not the National Enquirer." Jazz said, turning over to go to sleep.

"It's like wanting to expose aliens to the public. Imagine if there's a spaceship crashing into Big Ben." I said, looking up from my Nintendo Switch for a moment. "It's not like I was there or anything."

"I can't believe Harry blames me. And Vlad was so mad, he didn't even say goodbye." Jack said, depressed. "And we were all such great chums in college."

"Oh, whatever. Who cares what you were when you were younger? It's who you grew into that makes you who you are." Danny said, looking at Jack.

"You think?"

"Hey, if you can cause that much damage in college, and still turn out to be this cool, ghost-butt-kicking adult, well, maybe there's hope for me yet."

"Thanks, son... But your curfew is still ten." Jack said, putting an arm around Danny's shoulder.

"Oh, man!" Danny said, annoyed.

The GAV drives past a sign reading, 'Now Leaving Wisconsin', and the lights above the sign flicker off.
