The Immortal (twilight fanfiction)

"An everyday man gets thrown into the world of twilight thousands of years before the start of the plot. With immortality and incredible abilities. How will this man's presence change the outcome of the original story?" [ this is a slow-burn fanfiction; the MC is just trying to experience life and enjoy it, not to take over the world and rule from the shadows.] I do not own twilight or the characters of the twilight world, all that belongs to me are my own characters.

Plans revealed

Carlisle stood still for a moment as he absorbed all of the information that was in front of him.

Which was me standing behind a kneeling vampire, shirtless, while squeezing the head of said vampire until cracks appeared on his head and face.

"Was it really necessary to blow my door off?" I asked, looking past Carlisle at the splinters of wood that covered the floor to the entrance of my home.

He looked at me confused.

"I thought you were in danger!" Carlisle said, gesturing at me, then Eleazar.

I chuckled.

"Me…in danger."

Ignoring me, he stepped forward and looked down at Eleazar.

"And…who is this?" He asked as Eleazar let out a grunt of pain.

"He's some pup of the Volturi. Came here to invite me to some meeting at their 'demand'." I said, squeezing again, making Eleazar yelp.

"So you're going to kill him just because he was sent here to give you a message?" Carlisle asked, worried for Eleazar.

"perhaps." I said, knowing Carlisle would have a problem with me if I actually did or wanted to.

Which I didn't.

From what I could remember about Eleazar, he and his mate managed to convert to that of 'vegetarian' vampires, along with the three sisters.

So hopefully, one day, he could become a friend and an ally.

But thinking about all of this made me wonder why they would send Eleazar of all vampires here.

With Eleazar's powers, he was a great asset to the Volturi.

With his ability to find people with dormant abilities that will fully awaken once they are turned was too valuable for them to send on a suicide mission like this.

'Somethings off here.' I thought, as I slowly loosened my grip from Eleazar's head.

"Why are you really here?" I asked as I watched the cracks on his head and face slowly heal themselves.

Eleazar didn't speak instantly but instead looked to be thinking, which for a vampire is quite some time to think.

"If you lie, this day will become much worse for you." I said, hopefully swaying him towards telling us the truth.

When he didn't speak again, I slowly started to add pressure to his head again.

Bringing back the cracks.

"I was sent by the Volturi…but it wasn't to invite you to a meeting with them." Eleazar gasped out.

In an instant, I released him from my grip and stepped away from him.

"That wasn't so hard to say, was it?" I asked while circling around him until I was standing by Carlisle and in front of Eliazar.

"So why are you really here?" I asked, expecting him to either try to make a run for it or not say anything again, forcing me to make even more of a worse first impression than I already have.

"I was truly sent here to find you, but I was sent to see if I could get a reading of your power while staying out of your sight. Not to invite you to a meeting with the Volturi." Eleazar said, looking up at me and Carlisle from the floor.

"Then what was the purpose of the letter, and why did they send you to see if you could read my powers?" I asked.

He paused again.

"The letter was to get you to 'distract' the Volturi. Giving me the time to get my mate and escape with her."

I turned my head to the side while he continued.

"And the reason I was sent to try and get a reading of your powers was because Aro has become increasingly paranoid. Nobody knew of what, but his actions in recent years have shown us all that. He no longer allows anyone from a Coven that has broken the rules to live. And no member of the Volturi with abilities is allowed to leave." Eleazar said.

"Everyone thought it was because Aro was starting to lose his mind after all these years, when in reality it was you who he fears. Although I had to figure that out on my own.

Normally, when I am sent to find someone, I am given details of their possible location to make the 'acquisition' of them easier. But they were very…vague with what they told me of you. The only thing they told me that was of any help was that you had white hair." Eleazar said.

"Then how did you find him with so little information?" Carlisle asked.

"I used the Volturi's archives to slowly put the pieces together. Using scattered mentions of a white-haired figure, I managed to follow quite a few of his exploits, as well as figure out why Aro has become the way he has." he said, turning to look at me.

"I found a connection to you in Rome around 100 BC." Eleazar said.

I smiled.

"When I founded Gringotts."

Eliazar nodded.

"Yes. From there, it was easy. All I had to do was look at the recent movements of the bank, which was here in the colonies." I nodded my head at his words.

"Now to the fake letter?" I asked.

"Like I said previously, the Volturi no longer let vampires with abilities leave. We are now no more than their slaves. There to do their bidding." Eleazer said, a grimace on his face.

"And you couldn't simply run away?" Carlisle asked.

I shook my head.

"The Volturi have vampires that could track him anywhere he went. And I believe he mentioned that there is someone he doesn't want to leave behind." I said.

Eleazer nodded his head.

"My mate Carmen, she is still in volterra." I nodded my head as I turned to my desk, where I grabbed my glass of whiskey and downed it in one gulp.

"So your plan was to get me to go to the volturi where hopefully there would be an altercation, leading to me fighting the volturi. Giving you time to get your mate and run?" I asked.

Lowering his eyes, Eleazer slowly nodded.

I shook my head.

"That's some crappy planning if you ask me." I said, setting my glass back down onto the table.

"I am a desperate man." Eleazer said.

"Clearly." I said, tapping my finger on my desk a few times.

"I'll tell you what." i said "how about i help you out."

I watched as Eliezer's eyes slightly grew.

"I will help you escape the Volturi and get your mate. But under one circumstance." I said, raising my pointer finger.

"Yes, anything." he said pleadingly.

Lowing my finger to point at him, I said.

"You and your mate will no longer drink human blood. Instead, you will only drink the blood of animals."

My words seemed to give him pause as he thought on my words.

"Is that even possible?" he asked.

I nodded my head but was unable to speak as Carlisle interrupted me.

"It is possible. With much practice and self-control, that is." Carlisle said, stepping up to stand by me.

For the first time, it seemed Eleazer saw the color of Carlisle's eyes.

"You only drink animal blood?" Eleazer asked Carlisle.

He nodded.

"I do," he said.

Looking at me, Eleazer nodded his head.

"Very well. If you can free us from the Volturi then we will change our ways."

Oh my goodness, was this chapter hard to write.

I have rewritten this chapter no less than five times.

I don't know why, but every time I went through it and checked over it, it didn't sit right with me.

I don't know if it was just the flow of it or something needed to be added.

Even now, I'm not sure how I feel about this chapter.

So please let me know.
