How are my abilities for the greater good when they are able to harm my friends....?

After that sentence, everyone started going crazy as if they had taken the insanity serum themselves. They yelled at each other and were roaring from the top of their voices which made me perform the screeching static again. Instantly they all fell on the floor, their hands on their heads screaming as my body started going in overdrive.

"JAMIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Hazel yelled.

I stared at the floor to see that I was hurting my friends. I stopped immediately, shocked by what I had just done.

"Guys I'm so sorry I didn't know what just happened!" I confessed.

"Neither did we. Jamie, I think you should stay here!" Hazel pleaded.

"Guys no!" I shouted.

But Layla already brought out a needle filled with a blue substance and stuck me with it. I let out a little shriek as I commenced to faint on the floor.

"Guys-" My sentence was stopped by the tiredness from the anaesthetic kicking in.

Vengeance is the only duty I require and desire…

As Jamie collapsed on the floor I stroked my head from the recent pain Jamie inflicted on me.

Now that Jamie was removed from the picture I was one step closer to having my revenge by destroying ALIRON once and for all.

Layla then started to put us in pairs to make sure that we had each other to rely on. I had to make sure that I was not paired with Hazel; she would block me from having my vengeance. Without hesitation, I stood by Aanisah.

"GUYS LET'S DO THIS!" Layla praised.

Back in the Afghanistan battle, I read the enemy's flag: "ALIRON till death". At that moment, I swore vengeance upon those that slaughtered my family.

"So do you understand what Layla just said or were you daydreaming?" Aanisah asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Umm yeah, I was just thinking about Jamie" I lied.

Aanisah gave me an odd face but continued.

"So Layla said that our job is to go behind the church through the sewers and place several bombs under there to wipe all the data ALIRON has while Hazel and her go in front and try to destroy each bit of the new serum while keeping some to analyse it," she explained.

"Ok got it!" I replied.

"If you got it then why are you standing here! Go to the back of the jet and get the bombs!" She shouted.

Damn what was wrong with this woman?

ALIRON must have created the serum to make them like this. I then started walking towards the back of the jet when I noticed the Apex Alpha serum lying on a marble table with the case open. Then I sneakily grabbed one of the tubes and pick it in my pocket hoping nobody recognised it. Next, I got the bombs and went back to the group. Layla gave us a big speech about how proud she was of us and the whole time I was just hoping that she would finish and let me get on with the job I came here for.

We then dashed out of the jet for the hardest battle of our lives.

Me and Aanisah kept walking until we reached our destination and was kind of wearying as we didn't even talk. We then reached a small forest behind the church which was filled with equipment as if it was used as a training ground. The tall evergreen trees lashed and crashed against each other like drum sticks in the hands of a giant. I lifted my face, letting the light and shadow dance across my skin. Bees hummed in and out of the pennyroyal. I inhaled its minty smell and continued on, delighting in the sound of my feet sliding through the crisp leaves.

Aanisah kept marching with a map in her hand, determined to get the underground sewer system to install the bombs while I tried to come up with a plan to get to ALIRON before anyone else. Then suddenly a plan came into mind.

I got out a needle filled with anaesthesia that Layla had used on Jamie and kept it behind me. Next, I purposely dropped on the ground and let out a little shriek. Aanisah ran by me and checked what was wrong.

"What's wrong Elijah, are you okay?" She questioned.

An evil smirk grew on my face as I quickly stabbed the needle in her shoulder causing her to fall to the ground.

"YOU LITTLE-" She yelled.

I stood up and dragged her body by a small tree that was near me and put a sheet over her with bean bags.

"Sorry but nobody is stopping me from getting my revenge, nobody," I whispered as I ran my way through the forest closer to the church...

Even the strongest of people have a weakness…..

Me and Hazel started walking straight to the church with a little chat now and then.

We made a plan that I would say to the ALIRON leaders that I had kidnapped Hazel and was giving her to them to use as a weapon. Then when they believed us, we would go to the lab department to take the new serum while Hazel used her powers to crush the building on them and we escaped.

"Layla, I don't know if I can do this," She admitted.

"What do you mean Hazel?" I asked.

"I already used my abilities today and well if I use too much I could overwhelm myself. I need Jamie," she replied.

Listening to Hazel's comment made me feel sympathy but I knew that it was for the greater good. Jamie was not able to control his powers and could have put our plan in danger.

"Hazel, I know it's going to be hard for you without Jamie but we need to do this. Hazel, ALIRON is willing to murder millions of people just because of analysis!" I explained, hoping she would understand.

With small tears in her eyes, she gave me a nod and kept moving. After half an hour of walking, we reached the church. It was huge, filled with bright stained glass windows and big wooden doors. The church was boarded with security and guards, making sure nobody was going in without permission. Quickly. I tied Hazel's hands and dragged her along with me. She gave me a nod and went into acting.

"Uggghhhh let me go!!!" She commanded.

"NO, LET'S GO FREAK!" I replied.

It made me giggle how we were acting and if it would really work. Then when we were by the big sliver gates around the church a guard stopped us.

"CAN I ASK WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" He asked.

I breathed in and got into action.

"EXCUSE ME! DO YOU KNOW WHO THE HELL I AM? TALK TO ME WITH RESPECT YOU PEASANT!" I roared.

The guard was filled with fury.

"YOU LITTLE- WHO ARE YOU?!" He demanded.

Then I shuffled a little closer and in a fierce tone, I roared.

"I AM LAYLA ANGELOU! ONE OF THE APEX ALPHAS!" I screamed.

Damn my voice really started to ache. The man stared at me in shock and started to apologise. The first stage was a success! He let us in and we went inside the church hoping we'd come out as one...
