Chapter 9

As they charged towards the ruin guards, the ruin guards started to move to attack. As Aether and Lumine was fighting the ruin guards, a platform as being raised slowly. Lumine and Aether both noticed the platform and was trying to reach over to it. Aether "Lumine! I am going in to attack! Protect me!" After getting a nod from Lumine, he began to concentrate his power into his sword. His sword began to shine brightly, and for a second there was a dragon roar. As Aether's sword was a bright as a sun, he swung down his sword the platform surrounded by ruin guards. To their surprise the ruin guards acted as tanks, taking all the damage and protecting the platform.

The ruin guards that took the blow were destroyed but it had no impact. There was simply to many ruin guards, the platform began to rumble as the object began to activate. "Aether, what is that?" Lumine asked confused as of why the ruin guards would take action to protect it. "It must be very powerful for the ruin guards to protect it" Aether said grimly.

The mysterious creature seemed to be charging up as the ruin guards protected it with their body's. "Lumine we both attack!" said Aether as he held his sword and concentrating his power into it. "Yeah" Lumine said charging up her sword as well. The mysterious creature seemed to have fully charged up. As the ruin guards started to approach Lumine and Aether. The creature stood up revealing itself. It was a ruin guard but had a powerful looking cannon on its head. As it stood up the energy around it was dropping drastically. The cannon on its head began to open and a concentrated ball of energy formed.

"Look out!" Aether shouted as the ball was lunched at Lumine. She quickly tried to make a shield. But the cannon had absorbed all the energy in the surrounding area. Aether noticed and ran towards Lumine when the energy ball was fired. He then pushed her out of the way as the ball was about to hit her. Bang!

Aether coughed up blood after being hit by the ball. His body was a mess that was covered in blood. Lumine quickly rushed towards him. "Are you okay?!" She cried "Why did you take that shot?! I could have taken it?!" She said as a tears began to fall of her face landing on his wounds. "I said I am going to protect you didn't I?" He said with a chuckle.

The ruin guards started approaching towards the siblings, as the cannon ruin guard began to charge up again. "Run..." Aether whispered to Lumine as he felt his strength leaving his body. "No! I will protect you!" Lumine said wiping her tears of her face. She stood up and glared at the ruin guards and yelled "BRING IT!" She shouted with rage.

"Lum..." Aether said quietly as he felt tired and could barely keep his eyes open. The last thing he saw before his eyes shut was Lumine charging towards the Ruin guards with her sword out. 'Noooooo!' He shouted as he raised his hand and tried to reach her. 'Huh?! Where am I' Aether said as he looked around. He saw person with chains holding him down. He tried to sense the power of the person chained down. To his surprise he couldn't. "Who are you?" He asked carefully. The person chuckled and said "I am your power"
