52 Game with Her

He enjoyed the game she was playing with him. If anything, the uncertainty of it all made him feel as if he was actually alive. For so long, he thought he had forgotten what it felt like to want something so much that his body ached for it. 

She was like a poisonous obsession, deadly yet addictive. Her slightly-parted lips invited him in for a kiss, like that of a colorful plant luring in its prey before snapping off their necks. Yet, like the moth inevitably diving into flames, he was drawn to her. 

He should have killed her when he took over her kingdom. He should have slain her in front of a crowd, terminating the thoughts of anyone who dared to think of reviving the Kingdom of Eversun. Instead, all he did was try to please her over and over again, knowing very well that if she had accepted his advances, he would have never been drawn to her in the first place.
