"Is this guy stupid or does he just have loose screws?" Ariel thought to herself as she watched Lotus attack the legs of the beast with high velocity. The beast was unable to attack back or defend itself, and bit by bit, each leg was being torn down by the slashing of Lotus's crimson blade. A wailing that could be heard from miles away filled the air. "Oooaaaaarrrr," the beast yelled. A distorted look began to show on his face. "Hehe, I like that sound. The sound of pain. Mmm, lovely, hahaha," he said.

"yep, definitely some screws loose" Ariel then proceeded to cast a wind barrier around Lotus as she noticed that the dragon was emitting heat waves in its rage and defence. But surprisingly, Lotus yelled out to Ariel, "hey Miss, take the barrier off. I don't need it." In a surprised state, Ariel immediately lifted the barrier, and Lotus continued his rampage on the dragon. His movements and agility, combined with the constant yet rhythmic slashing of his sword, created a beautiful expression of dance as he swiftly and elegantly tore down the dragon's legs.

"It's Ariel" she said unexpectedly

"Huh?"

"My name, it's Ariel"

"oh haha, like the mermaid,"

"haha very funny" she rolled her eyes

"anyways, Old beast. Haha. Any last words? Man, that feels too good to say,".

"It's you who needs last words," the dragon replied, releasing its true draconic aura, which almost made it hard for those around it to breathe. The legs that had been partially cut off and torn were suddenly healed and covered by fiery armour. However, this wasn't enough, as Lotus immediately resumed his attacks, mercilessly slashing the beast's legs. But the more he did, the more he realized that it was needless and inefficient, as the beast repelled his attacks with gusts of wind blades.

watching Lotus attack the legs of the beast at high speeds, a look of infatuation appeared on Ariel's face before she could even notice it. Zoning her attention back on the fight "who is this guy "

observing and passively manoeuvring away from the pure barbarity of his attacking force, mixed with his total disregard for defence or his surroundings, with a sinister grin creeping on his face. Lotus looked directly into the dragons eyes with a piercing gaze that spoke more then words could say. For the first time since his birth thousands of centuries ago an expression of fear spotted on the beast

Lotus too noticed and felt the change in expression, with haste he gathered strength in his legs and bent his knees gathering potential energy, as if he was a spring he shot up amidst the thick mana and heat, pointing the spirited crimson blade upwards it lit up, piercing the dragon's chest. the sword then grotesquely began opening up the dragon's chest and Lotus, hanging by the sword handle dissected all the way down till his feet reached back to the ground

Ariel with a pensive appearance further cast a wind attack causing further impact to the chest.

"You dare be so audacious!"

furious, absolutely furious that was an understatement to describe the beasts' feelings right now, utterly humiliated and beaten

"Tis a shame," Lotus said ruefully

feeling the temperature cool off and the heavy feeling of dominance wear away, Ariel asked inquisitively "what is a shame?"

"one thing that has a way of making my blood boil is being underestimated, It's always happened to me growing up and even in University"

'University?' Ariel questioned inwardly

"wh… wait are you by any chance… also from earth"

'earth?' wasn't that the only place to be from, Lotus thought to himself "I mean yes, are we not on earth!"

"well.. " just as she was about to answer, Ariel noticed the dragon muttering something in his dying breath, as his existence was vanishing with the mana

"o' great sage take me with the tao and let all things around me burn".

It was then, following a moment of silence, an impending feeling of doom overtook both Ariel and Lotus, the dragon faded but right after its end, the beginning of chaos arose, burning the cave began to burst with heat so imposing that inhaling burnt the nose

"Owww owww owww" Ariel was first to crack under the heat, falling to her knees and writhing in pain, tears forming down her rose puff cheeks. Lotus was in a panic and feeling deep emotions of pain, not from the excruciating heat he was experiencing but from seeing Ariel in pain he felt an Instinctual sensation to protect her.

quickly picking her up and throwing her over his shoulders he ran for the exit, the cave seemingly demolishing itself in flames

Seeing the corridor exit collapse,

Lotus' eyes instantly Lit up bright gold and in an instant he imagined the desert spot he first landed in when he first got here, closing and opening his eyes he found himself there, again, out in the vast desert sand only this time he had extra baggage.

Laying the passed-out Ariel(probably from the shock of pain) gently on the ground Lotus greatly exhaled and fell to his butt

"Gosh what a day" although he said that, the sun still brightly lit the horizon, something Lotus found quite peculiar, 'maybe time doesn't pass like normal here' he wondered.

suddenly Lotus coughed up blood painting the sand red

"ugh, damn i'm feeling so drained" in that moment his vision started to blur and his head became light, as a result he fainted right beside the girl he had just laid to rest…
