Chapter 23- Zhang Wei

Energy gathering elixir and the endeavour pill came in a small simple vial which made it look very ordinary at a glance. However, these two magical items had the effect of allowing him to grow at a rapid speed.

After he quickly gulped down the contents of the vial, he felt two different refreshing energies rush through his veins and reach every part of his body. These energies were soothing and extremely beneficial for his body.

After feeling the energy reach every part and meridian of his body, a unique effect suddenly enveloped him. Although this effect wasn't noticeable to the eye, Yang Chen who was feeling it, was aware that the effects of the two items had already started.

"Let's go and hunt some demonic beasts" He gave an excited smile and delved deeper inside the jungle.

To train his movement type battle skill side by side, Yang Chen continuously used the burst step skill to move forward. Compared to the attack type Eight Fold Split, the Burst Steps skill required relatively less battle energy.

Thus with the effect of the Energy Gathering Elixir activated, Yang Chen did not have to bother about his Battle Energy consumption. On the contrary, he felt like he could continue to use the Burst Steps without his Battle Energy going down even a little.

Like that, Yang Chen was able to cover more distance. He met a few weaker demonic beasts on the way and quickly disposed of them. Although they might not provide much in terms of experience, they were still a viable target to practice his Attack type Battle Skill.

Thus with the help of his Battle Skills, Yang Chen quickly took care of some weak demonic beasts. He was making steady progress, the stronger demonic beasts that have reached Seven Star battle apprentice or above only took him an hour or so to defeat now.

Numerous Demonic Beasts fell under him and by the time the sun finally started showing signs of setting, he made a new record.

He had defeated twelve demonic beasts, three of which were in Seven Star Battle Apprentice level and one in the Eight Star Battle Apprentice. Not only that, but his two battle skills have also progressed.

The Eight Fold Split had reached the intermediate completion stage while his Burst Steps skill was only a few more practice away from reaching the peak completion stage.

Looking at the slowly setting sun on the horizon, Yang Chen was ready to call it a day. Before it got dark, he wanted to find a good camping place and use the remainder of his time practising his skills in a safe corner while the effects of the two items were still on.

He was just about turn around a corner, when suddenly, he heard the bushes behind him rustle and a couple of figures quickly rushed out. They landed beside him and cut off all of his path of escape.

"Young master, I told you he would be ahead"

A voice that sounded a little familiar to his ears rang out from behind those bushes and more figures stepped out from within.

When Yang Chen saw who they were, his face immediately turned gloomy.

'So they have found me already huh' he thought internally as he observed the badge these people wore on their clothes. The character Zhang was written boldly on it. The people from the Zhang clan finally came chasing after him.

When two more figures leisurely stepped out of the shrubs, Yang Chen immediately placed his attention on them.

He recognised one of the conversing voices and as it appeared, it was none other than the leader of the hunter band that had fled the scene that day, Li Hao.

Standing beside him was a young man around his twenties with a relatively handsome face and long hair. He wore expensive clothes and carried a dignified aura around him.

"Hnn… it looks like you were right, the Zhang clan's slave that ran away was indeed alive" The eyes with which the young man looked at Yang Chen had an unconcealed ridicule in them.

Yang Chen had a faint impression of this person, he was the young master of the Zhang clan and the son of the patriarch, Zhang Wei.

He was one of the geniuses of the younger generation of the Zhang clan alongside his two elder brothers, having reached the Nine Star battle apprentice stage at the mere age of ninteen.

Although his talent wasn't as great as his two elder brothers, he was considered quite decent. It was also rumoured that he had cleared the conditions for the entrance test and was likely to get admitted to the outer academy of the Holy Orchard Academy.

This achievement raised his social status within the clan even more so much so that it even reached the ears of an ordinary slave like the previous owner of the body.

An evil smile appeared on Zhang Wei's face as he sized up Yang Chen in front of him.

"Hehe, young master please don't forget my reward for leading you to him" Li Hao rubbed his hands and gave a bootlicking smile.

"Hmph, this young master always keeps his promise. Here is your reward" Pleased by the other party's behaviour, Zhang Wei tossed out a pouch of coins towards him.

"Thank you very much young master Zhang Wei… hehe" Li Hao hurriedly caught the pouch of coin and showered the young man with even more praises.

Zhang Wei ignored the man and slowly stepped towards Yang Chen.

"So you are the slave of our Zhang clan that dared to bare its fangs on its own master? I must say you are quite gutsy?" His voice was extremely carefree and laced with mockery that did not put Yang Chen in his eyes.

"Who would have thought that a slave like you would be able to survive this long inside the Star Fall Jungle? Well now that I have found you, I will bring you back to the clan where you will be punished according to clan laws"

The way Zhang Wei spoke, it was as if he was an extremely righteous person who was here to exact justice.
