Help Save Christmas

Remember that small cottage in the middle of the Snowy Tundra biome? That's right! Thomas and Aurora's home. Well turns out, that's where Santa was headed.

The skies were clear, and the moon was shining bright. As for Juliana and Quintin, they were still awake sitting by the fireplace. Were they awake waiting for Santa to come? Or were they spending time together before heading off to sleep themselves? The house was quiet. The children were sound asleep. But just as Quintin and Juliana had thought everything was peaceful and calm, there was a knock at the door. Who could that possibly be?

Juliana and Quintin walked over to their oakwood door. Quintin grabbed the handle and opened it. Standing outside, in his big red fluffy clothing with his bushy grey beard and blue eyes, was Santa.

"Good evening Juliana and Quintin," Santa said, "May we come inside?"

Juliana and Quintin were confused. Why was Santa asking to come in? Doesn't he normally slide down the chimney? Something was wrong. But neither Juliana nor Quintin knew what was happening. Both of them stepped out of the way and allowed Santa to come in.

He wasn't alone though. Moving around inside his coat, were three tiny Elves. Juliana and Quintin could hear them whispering to each other.

"Ouch. Be careful Moon," Sunshine whispered as a loud sound was heard. Sunshine and Moon both inhaled deeply.

"Alright," Sunshine said, "who farted?"

"Guilty," Lars giggled as Moon and Sunshine quickly crawled down Santa's leg and jumped down onto the floor. The floor was made up of spruce wood planks. They ran away from Lars as he jumped down onto the floor. "It's just a fart you guys," Lars said.

"Yeah we know that! That was gross though," Moon stated.

"It just slipped," Lars giggled.

Santa, Juliana, and Quintin all looked down at Lars, Moon, and Sunshine. Juliana and Quintin were amazed at how tiny they were. For one, Juliana had thought they would have been more tinier. Guess she was wrong. Thomas and Aurora turned over in their beds.

Quintin and Juliana looked over at their beds to make sure they were still asleep. Thankfully they were. The three obnoxious elves didn't wake them up.

"Lars, Moon, and Sunshine," Santa said, "please keep quiet. We don't want to wake the children now."

All three of them looked up at Santa and Quintin and Juliana. They weren't purposely trying to be loud. It was just because Lars farted. Moon and Sunshine didn't like that. That's why they expressed their frustration with Lars.

"Why have you come here Santa?" Quintin asked.

"Yeah I'm curious to know too," Juliana said, "where's your sleigh and your reindeer? Where's your sack of presents?"

Santa itched the back of his head. How should he explain what's going on? Do Juliana and Quintin know of the Dark Elves' existence? Would they even believe his story if he were to tell them? Christmas wasn't the only thing being threatened; the lives of every blockhead is also in danger.

For starters, the Dark Elves aren't going to surrender easily. They will put up a vicious fight. That's for sure. Anyways, Santa figured out how to answer Quintin and Juliana's questions.

"Christmas is in big trouble," Santa began to say.

Juliana and Quintin frowned. They were confused as to how and why Christmas was in trouble.

"In trouble?" Quintin questioned, "how so?"

"My sleigh crashed nearby thanks to the Dark Elves. If it weren't for them, I would still be delivering presents. Without any magic to fly my sleigh, I'm afraid I'm grounded until then," Santa answered.

"So these…Dark Elves," Juliana said, "were they the ones that made you crash your sleigh?"

Santa nodded his head. "Indeed. They stole the magic that allows my sleigh to fly. Without it, I'm afraid I'll be going nowhere right now."

"Have you delivered any presents at all?" Quintin asked.

"Only a few," Santa said, "the rest of the presents are back at my sleigh."

As Santa, Juliana and Quintin were engaged in a deep conversation, Thomas had awakened from his sleep. He was sitting on his bed, listening to his mom and dad. As Thomas continued to wake up, he rubbed his eyes a few times. After that, he stretched and yawned.

What he didn't notice at first was that there was a third blockhead amongst his parents. Only this blockhead wasn't dressed like Juliana and Quintin. As Thomas sat on his bed, he examined the blockhead. After about a moment, Thomas realized who it was. His eyes got bigger, and his mouth dropped.

"San—Santa?" Thomas said in a surprised tone, "is that you? Like really you?"

Quintin, Juliana, and Santa all turned around to look over at Thomas. Aurora was still sound asleep in her bed. Thomas leaped out of his bed and ran over to Santa with his arms straight out. Thomas then gave Santa a big hug.

"I knew you were real," Thomas said, "I knew it."

Santa chuckled and smiled. He looked down at Thomas. Hiding behind a bookcase, Lars, Moon, and Sunshine peaked out to see Santa talking to the young boy.

"How is that boy awake? He should be sleeping," Lars questioned.

Moon turned her head and looked at Lars. Lars could tell she was frustrated with how he was acting. He's normally never like this.

"Would you keep quiet?" Moon whispered, "why are you being so loud?"

Lars shrugged his shoulders. "I ate a lot of candy canes. What can I say? I love candy canes."

"Oh for Santa's sake, Lars!" Moon said, "be quiet."

"Sorry," Lars apologized.

After he apologized, he saw a small black figure climbing up the window on the outside of the house. Followed by another and another. It took a minute for Lars to identify the mysterious small shadows.

"Dark Elves," Lars said.

When he said that he managed to catch the attention of Moon and Sunshine. Moon and Sunshine looked all around them. If the Dark Elves were here, where were they hiding?

Suddenly faint but noticeable footstep sounds could be heard coming from the roof. Santa, Quintin, Juliana and Thomas all heard the footsteps. They all looked up at the ceiling.

"Santa?" Thomas said as he was beginning to get scared, "what is that?"

Santa didn't immediately respond.

"I told you it was the Dark Elves!" Lars said.

"Are those the Dark Elves?" Juliana asked Santa.

"I'm afraid so," Santa responded.

Aurora had suddenly awakened from her sleep. She must've heard the footsteps. That's probably why she woke up. Juliana ran over to Aurora's bed and sat down next to her. She held Aurora close to her.

Just as everyone had thought they were done for, horses neighing could be heard close by. Quintin walked over to the window and looked outside. Five, variously colored horses began circling the small house, galloping in perfect unison. All of the horses had riders on them.

As the horses continued to circle the house, the footstep sounds came back. As the Dark Elves jumped down off the roof, they screamed. No way were they going to try and fight. They wouldn't win. Running away was their only reasonable option.

Not even a moment later, the Dark Elves had vacated the area, retreating back into the woods. Santa walked over to the door and walked outside. One of the horses was walking towards him.

"Quintin. Juliana," Santa said, "come out here."

The rider jumped off of his brown and white horse, landing on the snow covered ground. The blockhead walked over to Santa. His entire outfit was a dark blue. The hat he was wearing was pointy and had yellow stars on it.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the blockhead himself," the blockhead said.

"Ceres?" Santa said, "is that you?"
