Chapter 6: Past and present

Her father entered while dragging her disheveled brother. Lily looked at her brother and remembered whenever her brother became too noisy, her father would give him a beating.

Mr Wisteria and Leo saw Lily had woken up. They looked at her slight smile and walked in worriedly.

Mr Wisteria asked gently : "Lily, how do you feel?" but immediately turned to Leo:" Apologise to your sister!"

He said softly: "Im sorry" His regreted shouting at her when she had just woken up.

Lily smiled, "It's ok brother, Im fine after I rested."(Dad, give me a chance to answer...)

"What I did was wrong, please forgive me" She was not the Lily that made a suicide attempt but she had to at least apologies for her.

Her brother was surprised. In the past she would never look him in the eye, she would always look downards and she seems to have regained her memory.

Mr Wisteria who was watching by the side noticed that she recovered her memory too and her personality changed. She is not as timid as before. Her atmosphere changed from gloomy to a tranquil atmosphere.

She looked at them brightly and had a natural smile as beautiful as flowers blooming.

He was worried about the the cause of the change might be but this change could be for the better. He was also happy for her.

He did an investigation after her attempt and was shocked that she was being bullied and did not tell them, truthfully it was not her fault alone. He was even ashamed he did not know.

His son hated it when he kept tabs on him when he was younger so he liked to give his children personal space.

Sadly both him and his son never put in enough effort to find the source of her gloomy atmosphere and when she would not talk about it they never pushed her believing she would tell them in time. Yet reality proved they were too naive.

At the start of her recovery, Lily had to be pushed around in a wheel chair, her father took care of her in the mornings and her brother in the afternoon.

Her brother always said he only came because he passed by but he would always give her food he prepared before hand.

Her father had to take occasional calls from work but always took great care of her needs. Her father took her around the hospital to get fresh air whenever she felt stifled.

She also took the opportunity to ask him for a new phone after he took a business call. Her father did not ask about her previous phone and immediately had his assistant buy her the latest xphone. The top brand in this world.

The previous Lily had a phone but she did not want to interact with the hosts previous fake friends and best friends, since she woke up they would eventually find out and come back with their acting skills.

They would only ask her for money yet talk about the original host behind her back. Her previous best friend took it a level further and prevented everyone from having a good view of the host and still used the host for advantages.

Her family was well of and there was no need to have any contact with the people from her previous school but that did not mean she would them of if she ran into them.

She also spoke to her father about moving to a new school, in the past the host followed her best friend to an average school but there was no need to hold herself back.

In her past life she was top of her class and now she could take the opportunity to go to a hero school.

The system told her when she recovered she would receive a mission, and the missions gave her coins to use in the systems shop. She found the shop after visiting hours were over and she had nothing to do.

Once she saved enough coins for a usefull power she could say she awakened her power. In this world, people unlocked their powers at fourteen and the host was fourteen. She would either gain a power the from system or gain one naturally.

Either way being a hero was going to be her side job and she till needed to do more research about this world and finalise the plans for the main job she wanted.

She was going through all this effert because only heroes had a legal right to use their powers in fights outside of schools.

Since she needed time to level up with the system she asked her dad if she can join a school next year instead of after she recovered.

She also wanted to take advantage of the system and gain an advantage in power with levels but it would depend on the difficulty of the missions and the rewards she could receive.

Lily spoke with her father and he agreed to let her join school next year. In hero schools people join a class based on the type of hero they want to be.

A fire fighter, detective, fighter, protecter and healer or even if they wanted to work behind the scenes. They could receive training and become a hero after graduating. Internships would take place during the last grade.

Her father had also placed body guards outside her room but Lily found out from her brother that they had been guarding her since she entered the hospital 4 months ago she just noticed them late because oc their skills in lowering their presence.

Lily had started her physical therapy because of her weakened muscles. Now she could take walks around the hospital when she was bored.

She walked around aimlessly until she settled in the rooftop garden for vip guest's. She looked at the long green leaves swaying gently and breathed in the frash air. (I feel comfortable when I am around nature)

She felt the smooth and glossy texture of a leaf between her fingures.

Suddenly the long time silent system alerted her with a message.
