10 danger and gore

BEING THE OLDER SIBLING, she has always felt the urge to protect and defend her brother whenever he is in a tight situation. Also, everything automatically becomes her fault, leading her into getting scolded every single time she doesn't act tough and stand her ground.

So, she is never going to make mistakes that will lead her into being scolded; hence, her personality.

The man stares into her furious brown eyes for some seconds and Aubrey tries to remain calm under his ethereal, mesmerizing dark eyeballs. Then he speaks, "You can't do that."

Aubrey scoffs, "You want to try me?"

In an instant, he pulls Aubrey by her shirt until her body is flushed against him and she yelps with wide eyes.

"What are you doing?" Aubrey's eyes are immediately filled with fear as she stares up at his dark eyes which holds so much mystery and danger. Her body begins to shake from fright and nervousness and she can't move away from his arms. Her body stays flushed against his hard muscles, his breath fanning her face and soon, it's like every other person on Campus disappears.

But she still manages to say, "Let go of me."

"You feel that?" He lowers his face close to hers and she moves her head back, disgusted. To Aubrey, he looks like a freak and a pervert who is spoilt for his age.

"That is what you will feel anytime I breathe next to you." He says in a husky voice. "Because I am fright itself."

That sentence snaps Aubrey from whatever trance the man has put her in and she pushes herself off him, "Again with that crap?" She raises her voice at him, "Don't make me hit you with the bag." She narrows her eyes at him.

He keeps a straight look, tucking his hands into his jeans in a hurry as if he suddenly feels cold now that she is away from him. "I hate it when mortals raise their voice at me." He groans.

His eyes are dead serious but Aubrey refuses to be moved or spooked by it. She is getting her toaster no matter what; her mum yelled and scolded her hard for it and she also put her family in an uncomfortable position because of the break-in caused by this childish goof who is acting like a freaking anime character.

"Look. I don't have time for this, I need to get to work." She ignores his statement. "So, give me my toaster. Don't make things harder for yourself; you won't want to see my bad side."

The man in front of her just stares into her eyes, like he is fascinated by them and that makes Aubrey uncomfortable so she growls at him, "Gosh, didn't they tell you it's rude to stare." She says, "Quit staring and give back my toaster."

She makes her voice sound firmer to seem tough in front of the thief when she is truly not.

He detaches his eyes from her face with a sigh, "Fine. I'll give it to you." He says casually straightening up to his full height, leaning away from the car and towards her.

Aubrey is nonplussed. She's cut-off by how easy it is to get back her toaster and it gets her thinking if he is teasing her.

"Yes, give it back." She says, trying to dissipate the uneasiness laying in her stomach.

"Come to Groom-vine street by 6 in the morning. I'll be waiting." He says before opening up his car door and stepping inside, leaving her confused.

She stares at him with shocked eyes, watching him enter into the red Lamborghini, take out his shades, putting them back on. It feels too easy to get the toaster back but she is going to take whatever chances she gets.

"You better not be late." She yells after him as he drives off and she feels ignored.

That is when her non-friends come running to her.

"You really have lost your mind like your mum said earlier on the phone." Harper says in shock once she gets to her project partner, hitting her on the arm.

"Why did you do that?" Joe asks, equally shocked.

"See? I told you he was the thief." Aubrey tells them.

Harper groans, giving her the stink eye. "You didn't have to go that far if you didn't want to drive with us." She pulls joe, "Come on Joe, let's go."

They both leave her standing there but she doesn't make any effort to apologize. It's better she doesn't get in the car; they're both from exotic homes, so technically she will have nothing to offer them when she wants to return the favor.

And she won't be stupid to be indebted to the rich.

Also, Harper won't even believe her when she says the mayor's son is her thief because Harper believes every other rich person is above faults just because they smile innocently and act nice at dinner parties. But Aubrey knows differently, she knows the mighty and rich ones are the evilest.

She watches as they drive off in their fancy-looking blue car. She then turns to the path the black-haired man has taken to see other students getting into their cars. She is probably the only one without a car in the university but on the bright side, she will get her toaster back and won't have to spend money on a new one; she might even save up for a car.
