Chapter 70 Blind Dates

(Flash Back)

Sitting around a table in a large hotel, Asnee looked across the table and saw Tipkamol staring at him. The two young people didn't speak, just listened to the parents' gossip about their bad habits.

Mr. Chongchit then said, "Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to have lunch with us. I appreciate it very much. I know it's hard for our children to see each other because you live in Bangkok, thank you again for coming."

"I held business meetings here from time to time. We are thinking about expanding our company here," Mr. Siriporn said.

Mr. Chongchit said, "That's a good idea. I have a lot of friends here. There are three main families here, Suwannarat, Meechai and of course us. If you really want to expand your business here, I will definitely help you."

Mr. Siriporn smiled and said, "I'll start by saying thank you."

Mr. Chongchit said, "We've been friends for so many years, there is no need to thank me."

Mr. Siriporn looked at Tipkamol and asked, "I heard Tipkamol went on a blind date, how is it?"

"Tip and the others decided not to go on a second date because they didn't have anything in common," Mrs. Chongchit said, looking at Asnee. "What about Asnee?"

Mrs. Siriporn said, "He has no one right now."

Mrs. Chongchit said, "Oh..." She turned to look at Tipkamol. "Tip, why don't you show Pi around. I know you two are boring to sit and listen to us old people."

Tipkamol looked at Asnee and said, "Pi Asnee, let me show you around the hotel."

Asnee and Tipkamol walked around the beach, Tipkamol's bodyguard following her at a distance. Asnee looked back at the bodyguard and asked, "What's your bodyguard's name?"

Tipkamol said, "Pi Yang." She turned and saw that she put herself a good distance from her parents. She looked at Asnee. "Are you forced to come to see me?"

Asnee said, "I was willing to come see you because I can't say no. How about you?"

Tipkamol said, "I was forced to come and play."

Asnee smiled and said, "I like your positive attitude."

Tipkamol looked at Asnee and smiled, "I just want to tell you, like I tell every man my parents introduced me to them. I already have a lover. We've been together for four years. My boyfriend...he's the one standing behind us."

Asnee turned back to look at Tipkamol's bodyguard and chuckled, "No wonder he looked at me as if he was going to tear me to pieces." He looked at Tipkamol. "Don't worry, I have a lover too. We've been together since we were fifteen. I don't plan to marry anyone but him." He sighed. "Thank you for being honest with me." He took out his mobile phone and took out a photo of him and Santichai. He handed his phone to Tipkamol. "This is my love, he's not with me, but he's waiting for me at home."

Tipkamol took the phone and was surprised to find that Asnee's lover is a man. She returned Asnee's phone to Asnee. She asked, "Your lover is a man? Are you...?"

Asnee smiled and said, "Yes, I'm gay."

Tipkamol scoffed and shook her head. She said, "What's his name?"

Asnee said, "Santichai Kittibun."

Tipkamol turned to look at his bodyguard and said, "His name is Yang, we met in college in Shanghai."

After their exchange of conversations, Tipkamol suddenly said, "Asnee, do you want to marry me?"

Asnee said, "I already told you that the only person I want to marry is Chai."

Tipkamol said, "We only get married in front of other people, not in front of each other. I know my parents won't let this go. They want me to marry another upper-class family, which goes against my will. If I don't promise to marry you today, I'll be with someone else tomorrow, and I'm sure you will too. After marriage, you can live with Santichai, and I can live with Pi Yang."

Asnee said, "I'll think about it."

"The wedding doesn't need to be rushed. We can stay engaged for as long as possible and figure out what we need to do," Tipkamol said, smiling at Asnee. "Pi Yang and I are saving money, and then we'll fly to Switzerland or Japan and not set foot in Thailand until the day my parents were willing to accept us."

When Asnee returned from Chonburi, he found Santichai sitting on the sofa. He walked over to Santichai and sat down. He saw Santichai's gloomy face, and he asked, "What's wrong Chai?"

Santichai reached for two yellow envelopes from the coffee table and handed them to Asnee. "I found these under the mattress," he said.

Asnee sighed, "Have you seen it?"

Santichai said, "Mmm...are you going on blind date?"

Asnee said, "Yes." He looked at Santichai and found that Santichai was already crying. "Chai...you listen to me...I had to go on blind dates. I went on those blind dates for my parents."

Santichai said, "You are going on a blind date, why are you hiding it from me?" He looked at Asnee. "It hurts less if you would tell me truthfully."

Asnee said, "Because I don't want you to be sad like this."

"Are you dating anyone?" Santichai asked tearfully.

Santichai asked, "Are we dating now?"

Asnee said, "Yes."

Santichai asked with tears in his eyes, "Since we're dating, why are you dating another woman?"

Asnee felt his head pounding, about to explode. He wasn't angry with Santichai, but he suddenly felt a surge of anger rushed past him. He said angrily, "I already told you that our relationship needs to be kept secret for the time being. If my parents know about our relationship, they will break up us again. Is that too hard to understand?" He stood up and walked to the bedroom's door. "I won't say anymore, I have a headache."

Santichai asked, "Do you want to eat?"

Asnee grunted in pain as his head was throbbing in pain. He said loudly, "No..."

Asnee lay in bed in pain, dizzy every time he got up. He stayed in bed until late at night when Santichai came to lie down beside him. He approached Santichai and took Santichai in his arms.

Asnee sighed and wiped Santichai's eyes with his right hand. He coaxed, "Don't cry anymore, Tomorrow when you go to work, you won't be able to see with those swollen eyes."

Santichai said, "I thought about it, it's okay to have a blind date...but can you not bring your date around or marry anyone."

Asnee smiled and kissed Santichai on the forehead. He sighed happily and said, "I'm getting married, but the person standing opposite me can only be you." He wrapped Santichai with his arms. "I know I used to be a jerk. I know I was selfish when I broke up with you, but I'm trying to correct my past mistakes. I'll never break up with you. Please bear with me for a while, and when I save up enough money, we will move out to our dream house, okay?"

The next day, Mrs. Siriporn walked into Asnee's office at lunchtime at the Siriporn Cooperation. Mrs. Siriporn put the food on the table and said, "Come and eat and talk to me."

Mrs. Siriporn asked, "Has Chai contacted you?" She rolled her eyes at Asnee and picked up the spoon.

"I haven't contacted him since we broke up," Asnee said.

Mrs. Siriporn said, "Very good. Have you read the applications I sent you?"

Asnee lied, "I have."

Mrs. Siriporn said, "Well...while the other applicants are beautiful, I think of all of them Phawta Bunchu is perfect for you. Are you two officially dating?"

Asnee said, "Yes."

Mrs. Siriporn said, "That's fine, I've told her you'll be taking her to dinner with you tonight."
