Chapter 69 The Difference Between Like And Love

Santichai sat alone on the balcony of KK's bedroom, staring at his phone, deciding whether he should call Asnee or not. Every time his finger was about to press the call button, he was afraid, he's scared because he didn't want to make KK angry. If Asnee answered the phone, he didn't know what to say to Asnee. He was caught in between the two closest people to him.

KK said loudly from the bedroom, "Santichai come to try on your suits and see if it fits. I must be my brother's best man, so you will have to sit alone until the reception is over." KK turned around and saw that Santichai was still staring at Santichai's phone, as if he was waiting for someone to call him. KK went to the balcony. "What's wrong with you, Santichai?" He put his hand on Santichai's shoulder.

Santichai looked up and said, "What?"

KK smiled and said, "Go try on your suit."

Santichai looked at the bed and tried to smile in front of KK without much guilt. "It looks good, it should be fine," he said.

KK sat across from Santichai and asked, "Is there something wrong with you? To be honest, if you don't want to go, you don't have to."

Santichai said, "KK, I…"

KK smiled and said, "You stay at home, and tomorrow I will go to the wedding alone." He reached out and touched Santichai's hand. "I'm sure Asnee will be there. If you don't want to see him, stay home."

Santichai wants to meet Asnee. Since Decha told him that Asnee has a brain tumor, his heart has been restless. He said, "KK, if I can't fall in love with you, will you be angry?"

KK said, "I've already told you that even if you can't love me, I'll still treat you as a friend." He looked at Santichai's face. "If you have anything to say, just tell me. You don't have to be afraid; I won't hurt you like Asnee."

Santichai said, "He didn't do it on purpose, he...sometimes just can't control his temper."

KK looked at Santichai and asked, "Do you still love him?"

Santichai said, "No…I... I don't know...I'm trying to forget him."

KK said, "The tone of your voice sounded very sympathetic towards him." He sighed. "Santichai, do you know you're very bad at lying? You've got the word guilt written all over your face."

"KK, I'm trying to forget him," Santichai said.

KK said, "But you can't."

Santichai said, "No... I did forget him, but I only recently learned that what he did to me in the past is just my story. I don't see the whole picture. He hides a lot of secrets from me, secrets that I don't even know. Secrets of his sacrifices. So, I am afraid...KK. I'm so scared." He burst into tears. "So afraid."

KK said, "You are afraid that instead of falling in love with me, but instead you will fall in love with him again." He stood up, walked to the other side of the table, and took Santichai in his arms. "Like I said, if you can't forget him, then go and claim him."

Santichai suddenly burst into tears, "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."

KK knows that letting go of Santichai will hurt him a lot, but he also understands that love cannot be forced. He was no longer the hot-headed young man he used to be. Although he considered his brief time with Santichai short, that short time made him a better person.

KK kissed Santichai's forehead, "There's no reason to be angry with you, I know you've tried, and I can accept the outcome."

KK sighed and smiled at Santichai, "If the task is too heavy, you don't have to carry it yourself."

Kittichat and Ying's wedding took place at the same grand hotel that hosted Asnee and Tipkamol's engagement party. Many people attended the wedding banquet. Santichai refused to share the table with the Suwannarat, so he chose the last table at the door away from all the important guests.

Kittichat took KK's arm and pleaded softly, "Please don't argue with Grandfather. I beg you, just for today."

KK smiled and said, "I have promised you, today is your special day, I will not make trouble."

KK and Kittichat sit at the table with other family members and Laddawan.

Grandfather Suwannarat stared at KK and said, "Look how lively this wedding was. Kit, I'm so glad you got married, knowing that our bloodline did not end, I can rest in peace now."

Mr. Suwannarat said, "Pa…please, today is Kittichat and Ying's wedding."

"I know that as long as he doesn't talk back and doesn't talk nonsense, I won't be angry," said Grandfather Suwannarat.

In the grand wedding banquet, many guests sat around the table. From where Santichai sat, Santichai could see Asnee's back. Santichai was seated with many other guests, while KK and the Suwannarat family sat at the main table. Santichai knew that Mrs. Siriporn didn't like him, so he tried his best to hide from the crowd.

Taking center stage, Kittichat said, "Thank you all for coming to congratulate us today. Next we'll be dancing to our favorite songs; we'd like to invite nong Tipkamol and nong Asnee to open the dance floor with us tonight."

The crowd applauded, and Asnee and Tipkamol made their way to the dance floor. Asnee didn't stop there, taking the microphone from Kittichat and saying, "I also hope Pi Klaew Kla and his partner come and dance with us."

The crowd applauded.

KK knew Asnee was trying to embarrass him and Santichai. He looked to the right and reached out to Laddawan. He smiled and said, "Let's go dance."

Laddawan smiled and said, "Sure."

As the music started, the four of them were dancing on the dance floor with other guests. Asnee looked at KK frantically and said, "I thought you would bring your lover to this event, but you didn't, what a pity."

KK said, "Stop it, Asnee. Please do not embarrass yourself in front of Tip. The person who you are referring to is also here too."

Decha stood beside Santichai, "I thought you wouldn't come."

Santichai said, "I promised KK to come."

Decha said, "Now that you're here, how about we go and say hi to Asnee?"

Santichai said, "Frank, that's not funny."

Decha smiled and said, "Chai, are you sure you don't want to say what you want to say to him? We don't know when his tumor suddenly decided to explode, he is walking on that thin line and his timing is uncertain."

Asnee said from behind Decha, "Frank…"

Decha moved out of the way so Santichai and Asnee could see each other. He smiled and said, "Ai Nee…"

Asnee muttered to himself, "Chai..." He chuckled happily. He took two steps towards Santichai, but suddenly remembered that Santichai chose KK, and his days were outnumbered. Since Santichai had a deep hatred for him, he should just let it be. Just as he looked away, he felt a warm blood spurt from his right nostril. He raised his right hand to wipe away the blood. Santichai quickly grabbed a napkin from the table, blocking the blood from Asnee's nose.

Asnee looked into Santichai's eyes, he missed the slight glow in Santichai's eyes, when Santichai was about to cry. He smiled and took Santichai's hand. He said, "Chai..." He slowly fell forward into Santichai's arms. Santichai quickly supported Asnee to prevent Asnee from falling to the ground. "Chai...I miss you so much."

Santichai's lips trembled, his arms tightened around Asnee's waist. With tears in his eyes, he murmured, "I miss you too."

Asnee felt his heartbeat faster, his world darker. He murmured, "Really?" He slowly kissed Santichai's neck.

"Blood." A woman's voice said in horror.

Decha quickly grabbed Asnee from Santichai and found that Asnee had already passed out. Decha shouted, "Ai Nee!"

As soon as Mrs. Siriporn heard Asnee's name, she stood up and looked at Asnee, who had collapsed in Decha's arms. She ran over with Mr. Siriporn, who helped Decha get Asnee out of the party walking towards the front door.

Santichai stood there in tears, watching Asnee being carried away by Decha and Mr. Siriporn, while Mrs. Siriporn ran after them. Immediately afterwards, he felt his left arm being held tightly. He turned right and saw KK standing next to him.

KK said with a tearful smile, "If you love him, go claim him." He pulled Santichai in his arms and kissed Santichai's forehead. "The choice is yours."

Santichai looked at KK and smiled, "Mmm..." He rushed towards the front door.

Laddawan said, "Pi K, you like him so much, why did you let him go?"

KK said with a smile, "The difference between me and Asnee is that I am the like, and Asnee is the love. He has always loved Asnee, although he has denied it many times. His lips can lie, but his heart cannot. He has always been deeply in love with Asnee, in his heart no one can replace Asnee, he has always known this."

"But by doing this, you are the one who gets hurt," Laddawan said.
