Chapter 13 Old Song, Old Memory

A young man walked quickly to the door and opened the driver's door for KK. He handed KK a number and rushed over to open the door for Santichai, but when he walked to the other side of the door, Santichai had already opened the door and got out of the car.

KK found Santichai's movements cute and innocent. He couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Santichai, you should stay in the car and wait for him to open the door for you."

Santichai walked up to KK and said, "I don't have a disability, I can open the door by myself." He saw two people walking in front of KK and him. As soon as they reached the door, the two doormen opened the big glass door for them. "Mr. KK, I've never been to a place like this. If someone asks me, I don't know what to do or say."

KK said, "As long as you stay by my side, I will do the speaking."

Santichai likes that idea. He is underdressing for this type of party. If he stood beside KK, everyone would think he was just another sommelier, so people would not pay attention to him. He walked slowly behind KK and walked into the grand open ballroom.

Rushing from the left is Dussadi. She waved to KK and shouted, "Pi K, this way." She quickly went to Santichai and KK. "Pi K, our table is over there." She pointed. "Lada is already here waiting for you."

KK said, "Santichai, this way."

Dussadi said, "Hey, who is he?"

KK said, "He's, my guest."

Dussadi said, "Whatever."

They sat down at the table, and suddenly, an old and soft voice sounded in the banquet ballroom.

Chairman Chongchit said, "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. First of all, thank you very much for attending tonight's party. As everyone knows, my daughter." He smiled. "My only daughter has been engaged for six months, but I don't have time for this dinner party. Tonight, I'm throwing it with the help of my beloved nephew Klaew Kla," he joked. "By the way, he's currently single, and we're desperately trying to find a suitable wife for him." The crowd laughed, and so did Santichai.

KK looked at Santichai and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Santichai said, "He's funny."

Chairman Chongchit continued, "Chairman Siriporn and I have been friends for a long time, today I want to say Pi Siriporn, please take good care of my daughter in the future because I will take good care of your son and love him like my own son." The crowd applauded. "So let my daughter and future son-in-law dance to their song to kick off the party tonight." The crowd applauded. "Everyone welcomes my daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law Asnee Siriporn and Tipkamol Chongchit."

As soon as Santichai heard Asnee's name. He looked up and saw Asnee leading Tipkamol into the middle of the ballroom, and the song "The Moon Represents My Heart" began to play. The two fiancés danced in the ballroom and smiled at each other.

Dussadi said, "Pi K...Pi K…Bring Lada to the dance floor, it's her favorite song."

Laddawan said, "Pi K, for the sake of the old days, let's go dance together."

KK looked at Santichai. Santichai smiled and said, "I'm going to the bathroom."

KK asked, "Are you okay? Should I go with you?"

Santichai smiled and said, "I just need to leak, don't make the lady wait too long."

KK looked at Santichai and said, "Okay." He walked onto the dance floor with Laddawan and many other guests.

Dussadi looked at Santichai and said, "Hey, they're so perfect, don't you think?"

Santichai watched Asnee dance happily on the dance floor like a prince leading a princess in a palace ballroom. "They are so perfect for each other," he said sadly.

Dussadi looked at KK and Laddawan, "I agree." She took out her phone and started taking pictures of KK and Laddawan.

Santichai said, "Excuse me." He walked to the main entrance and turned to look at the many people dancing on the dance floor. He looked at them and saw his own reflection in the mirror. He knew that everyone on the dance floor was a match made in heaven. He scans the dance floor and sees Asnee and Tipkamol dancing happily. "Asnee, goodbye and this time is for real." He wiped his tears. "From the bottom of my heart, I happily gave you, my blessings."

A loud female voice came from behind Santichai. Mrs. Siriporn grabbed Santichai by the arm and dragged him out of the ballroom to the front door. She pushed Santichai against the wall. She pointed at Santichai's face. "Santichai Kittibun! What are you doing here?"

Santichai looked at Mrs. Siriporn. His terrified voice trembled, "Auntie."

Mrs. Siriporn gritted her teeth, "Are you here for Asnee?"

Santichai said, "No."

Mrs. Siriporn insisted, "If you're not here for him, then how do you get inside. Tonight, is a big night for Asnee to achieve another purpose in life, you..." She pointed to Santichai's head. "Don't ruin it for my son." She raised her voice. "What the hell do you want, eh? You want to ruin Asnee's life, ruin him completely to make you happy? I know who you are." She pulled her phone out of her handbag. "What's your account number?"

Santichai asked, "Why does Auntie want my bank account number?"

Mrs. Siriporn said madly, "You are here to extort Asnee. Tell me your price, ten million, twenty million, fifty million? I will transfer the money to you, and you will stay away from my son's life."

Santichai said, "Auntie, we have broken up, I don't need anything."

Mrs. Siriporn said angrily, "Then stay away from my son. You should know your place, no matter how I look at it, your place will never be here. Go back to your own world. Stop ruining my son's life or damaging his reputation. I know the man of your statue, you're only here for money, money-grabbing face." She watched Santichai walk out the front door, and she went back to the ballroom frantically.

Santichai walked out of the grand hotel. He walked slowly down the street, and the light rain began to pour down. As he walked alone on the long coastal road, the raindrops hit the ground and sang the melody of the song "The Moon Represents My Heart", and it was this moment that brought him back to the first Christmas he spent with Asnee.

(Memory)

Santichai has no plans for Christmas other than staying home. Asnee had told him earlier that evening that tomorrow, Asnee and his family would be in Singapore to visit Asnee's grandparents. As he turned to the left, his phone rang. It's Asnee.

Santichai, "Asnee, aren't you going to sleep?"

Asnee said, "Chai, go downstairs and get your tape player."

Santichai, "Why?"

Asnee, "Don't talk too much, oh remember to bring our favorite song. Come on. I'm counting to thirty, if you're not at the front door, I'm leaving. One...two..."

Santichai got up quickly and grabbed his tape player. He struggled to put on his socks. "Asnee it's not fair. You're not fair," he complained.

Asnee continued to count.

When Santichai opened the front door. He saw Asnee on his bike frantically standing by the side of the road. He said, "I'm sorry." He walked over to Asnee.

Asnee said, "One hundred and fifty-six. You took too long."

"You caught me off guard, you're not fair," Santichai said.

Asnee looked left and right, only the two of them were on the street. He pulled Santichai into his arm and kissed Santichai on the lips. He murmured, "If I play fair, then you won't belong to me."

Santichai pulled away, "Who's yours."

Asnee said, "You." He smiled. "Come on, get on the bike, I'll show you something."

Santichai sits on the back seat of the bike, and Asnee starts paddling down the dark streets. Santichai put his right hand on Asnee's waist and rested his face on Asnee's back.

Asnee said, "Chai…"

Santichai, "Mmm…"

Asnee said, "Chai, let's stay together like this."

Santichai, "Mmm."

They paddled for a while until they came to an abandoned building. Asnee stopped his bike, and the two young teenagers started walking toward an abandoned building. Asnee took Santichai's hand, and they began to climb all the way up to the top of the building.

Santichai asked, "Asnee, I heard the building was hunted, should we go home?"

Asnee said, "Why are you scared? You live in a triple murder house; you're not even scared. Santichai goes to that table and puts your tape player there."

Santichai was twenty feet away, but he didn't see any tables. He turned and saw that Asnee was gone. He panicked, "Asnee, where are you?" He hurried up to make way for the exit, only to find the chains there tightly locked. "Asnee, where are you?"

Suddenly, the tiny roof lights up. Santichai quickly backed away, looked up, and saw a projector counting down from ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one. Then the sound of the music starts playing. Santichai turns to see Asnee begin singing 'the moon represent my heart'.

After the song, Asnee smiled and said, "Chai..." Asnee hugged Santichai and kissed him. "Merry Christmas, my love."

Santichai hugged Asnee tightly, sobbing, "It's still a week away."

Asnee smiled and said, "Do you like it?"

Santichai nodded, "Mmm."

Asnee kissed Santichai's forehead. He said, "Love you very much." He lowered his head and kissed Santichai.
