Deadly Motivation

696 B.C - Asgard: Asera's Cell

Asera sat in her cell, mulling over what the janitor had told her yesterday. On a side note, she should really try and get his name the next time he shows up.

She was having a hard time planning an escape, mainly because she was so weak physically, currently. If she was at peak condition, she thought that she could probably get out of the jail cell eventually, but now she had a time limit.

Of course, she also didn't want to leave Gáe Luvi in Odin's vault, where she assumed he had put it.

She was really wishing that the stupid janitor had atleast given her a small way out. The only lead she currently had was when her magic returned for the briefest of moments when someone entered the cell.

Sadly, that moment was so brief, she wouldn't be able to get off a single spell. Then, she also had to worry about her prana returning to her. After all, she knew that just because the wards turned off for a moment, doesn't mean the she would have the energy to cast even a simple muffling spell.

The goddess let out a slight sigh. She was already feeling exhausted, even though she had only been awake for about two hours today.

The girl sat down onto her bed, thinking about the ways she could escape. The main one in her mind was to trick Frigga, but she had been repairing their relationship recently, and she didn't particularly like the idea; even though she would do it if need be.

696 B.C - Asgard: Asera's Cell

Asera stood in her cell, waiting. She had asked Frigga the other day to see if she could talk to Odin. The girl wanted to see if she could reason with the man, not particularly wanting to die.

She watched as the king stood behind the energy of her cell, waiting for the girl to speak.

"Father, do you know why I called you here?" Asera asked, "I mean, you are the god of magic, you should atleast have a small idea of what's happening to me."

Odin sighed, realizing where this conversation was going. "I'm not removing the bounded field, daughter." He said, shutting down her request before she even asked it.

Then, the king just walked away, not caring for the conversation any longer.

Then, before he got far, he heard Asera say something. "So that's it? You're just going to let your only daughter fade away. Mind, body, soul. All gone forever?"

Unbeknownst to Asera, Odin slightly flinched when he heard what she said, before he continued on his way.

696 B.C - Asgard: Asera's Cell

Asera was seething. It had been a few days since her small talk with Odin, and her only escape option, Frigga, had stopped coming to see her.

She knew Frigga herself wouldn't stop coming, she was far to kind. So, she quickly put together that Odin had stopped the woman from coming down into the dungeons.

"So, this is how it ends. Fading away in a cell, nothing left of me besides simple memories." Asera said, chuckling in slight sadness.

Asera wasn't scared of death. She was however, scared of fading away. She had wanted to live a happy life, but she never got to. Most of the girl's life had been spent away, training. Yet, the girl thought that she atleast would reincarnate when she died.

Sadly, she knew that if she were to fade away, she would cease to exist completely.

Then, the girl heard a voice, one she didn't expect to hear so soon.

"So you're just gonna give up? She won't be to happy about that. After all, if you fade, you won't get to be reunited, ever." The man said chuckling. "She would have been fine with you dying, after all, then she could have been reunited with you sooner rather than later."

Asera sighed, not really caring about what he was saying, but still slightly listening. "Well then, why don't you kill me. Wouldn't that make 'her' happy. Who ever she is."

"Sorry, can't do that. After all, if I were to kill you, you wouldn't be allowed into her domain. I'm a bit special that way."

Asrea groaned, her exhaustion catching up with her. Then again, she may just be done with the janitor's shit.

"Listen, if you aren't here to give me a way to not fade, then I'd just rather fade in silence."

The janitor chuckled once more, seemingly reminiscing about something. "Even after all this time, you're patience for my shit is still as low as ever Time."

The girl gave the man a middle finger, flopping onto her bed, ready to sleep the rest of her rather short life away.

"Well, I won't give you much help, but I can give you something to help motivate you." The man said as she felt a slight bit a magic enter her body. "This my dear Time, is a Death Clock! This well tell you when you fade, if you do nothing to prevent it."

Asera looked into the corner of her vision, seeing the timer saying that she had 3 days, 7 hours, and 19 minutes left.

"Also you're welcome. If I hadn't zapped you with a bit of magic to make that clock, you would have less than twelve hours left."

Asera knew he was telling the truth, after all, she hadn't felt as good as she currently did in days.

The goddess sat up to thank him, but saw her cell empty once more.

"Well, if I have a bit over three days left, I might as well see what I can do. Especially now that I'm feeling slightly better."

Well there you go. Asera is about to plan her great escape.

We also learned a bit more about this 'her.' I wonder if any of you can guess who she is. Probably, but if you can, then you get to know the love interest early :)

Also, I've written enough extra chapters so we can have a power stone goal for an extra chapter today. So, at 300 powerstones I'll upload an extra one.
