The Stand

The ground trembled as hundreds of horrifying mechanical beasts tread across it. The defenders had their muskets ready, a few with their Anti-Armour weapons. From behind the line, a row of artillery laid ready to fire, regardless of how ineffective it may end up becoming.

Before the lines, perhaps thousands of mines remain hidden in the ground. There are enough to the point where not even the defenders know the exact count, nor the exact positions of them - but that didn't really matter. Right now, they weren't the ones who absolutely needed to cross the minefield. If they just sat down and protected themselves, they'd get out of this.

Buevonville was quiet, abnormal for a city of its size. Thankfully, under orders from the Pope herself, they had evacuated to an unknown position. It was kept hidden so that no spies could find its location.
