Zeus went back to his study "I miss you" he murmured looking at a photo of a little girl in the frame, placing it back in the drawer, and walking out of the room holding his wallet in his hands, marching to his room and knocked on the door "you read- you look cute" Zeus was not ready for this but this is exactly the reason why he was getting married to her.
"they're double my size but thanks"
"let's go food's ready"
Rida walked down the stairs with Zeus, a little worried about Shelly being there "will she be there?" it was obvious she feared her as the last encounter was not pleasant nor were the threats, she heard she made to him "who? Shelly?"
"yes" she nods her head "she already left, she won't be back for a while now, you heard the conversation?" Zeus was expecting her to say no but she nods in agreement looking at him "yes I did, it looked like she was not happy about you getting married"
"it doesn't matter what makes her happy, don't think about her" Zeus states getting closer to her and staring at her, it was like a little torture for a girl who never dated someone.
Rida exhales and walks away from him "okay" she says going down the stairs before him.
Zeus smiled looking at her, letting her run away from him, they went to the dining area where the maid served the dinner. They were giving warm smiles as if assuring Rida that she would be safe there. "do you like the food?" he asks looking at her and taking a bite from his plate "yes, it is good" she replied.
"what do you do Rida?"
"umm, I just graduated and was supposed to start working as an intern but- " The sadness in her voice was heard and understood by Zeus "that's nice, you want to keep working even after you get married?" Zeus questioned taking a bite of steak from his plate.
Rida couldn't believe what she just heard "can I?" she curiously asks him as she was sure he wouldn't let that happen "if you want to but the guards will follow you, they'll have eyes on you wherever you go, will you be okay with that?" Zeus asks sipping wine from the glass.
"that'll be hard even if I want to endure it, people around me won't be comfortable with it" Rida speaks letting her head down "yes, it's just for your safety, you are no longer Rida Williams, you are my fiancé and future wife!"
'Yes, his wife. I will be his wife, but is being his wife worth being guarded? Who is he? and will I be used as his weakness to suppress him?' thoughts run through her head
"Now my turn!" Rida says, she was ready to interrogate him Zeus narrowed his eyes looking at her waiting for her to speak "what do you do?" she was all ready to throw questions at him.
Zeus glances at her as she takes a bite from the pastry eagerly waiting for him to answer, "You sure you want to know?" he asks slightly rubbing his jaw "Yes I want to" she is serious.
"I am Zeus Martin, the heir of Martin enterprises" he says holding a tissue in his hands
"The MARTIN, MARTIN?" she says almost choking on her food.
He hands her the tissue "is there another Martin in the city!?" he asks, trying to remember, Rida coughs looking at him.
Martins are the richest in Mexico for generations now. Rida stared at him, she did not want to piss him off, not anymore "why was Drake behaving like that and why were your guards not holding their guns back?" she asks the most stupid question "because he knew who I was"
"who are you!?" she asks, trying to get him to speak "Zeus Martin!" he replied sipping on wine from his glass.
Rida looks at him blankly, he gives in and placed his knife on the plate before speaking "Martin enterprises is not the only thing I am entitled to Rida Williams"
"then?" she asks curiously "you don't need to know about that cupcake!" he reminds her
"but-"
Zeus did not want to share his other identity with her to make things awkward between them when he just got her "what is it?" Zeus asks, looking at Rida who stood there holding up questions to ask.
"what will happen to Drake" she asks trying to take her mind off him "he'll live for now" he replied staring at her "and dealing with drugs?"
"He won't be able to sell any, and if he does then he'll definitely go to jail" he was sure about it as he made sure it happens "but the cops know him and will let him walk away" she says looking down "he can't walk away now!"
"seriously?? I just hope he gets the punishment he deserves" she says excitedly "you helped him today, just one word was enough to kill him, but you asked to let him go..." Zeus says placing his phone on the table "I did not want him to die a peaceful death" Zeus glances at her "okay, he won't get it" he states.
Rida glanced at him, the man who saved her, is now promising her, he will make that man's life hell for what he did to her "go and get some sleep, it's already late, and you might be tired because of the drama" Rida nods in agreement "you know the room right?" Zeus asks to confirm "yeah upstairs second room"
"good" Zeus went back to his study leaving Rida in the dining room, the maid started cleaning the table, she walked up to the room and lay on the bed, the moment her head hit the pillow she fell asleep.
After hours of sleeping, Rida woke up and saw Zeus sleeping beside her holding her tight closer to him, Rida was hardly holding her scream, this closeness was enough to give her a heart attack but at the same time it was new to see someone whom she just met hours ago will be his husband, she tried to calm herself, she didn't want to wake him up seeing how peacefully he was sleeping beside her, but that was not helping, she was freaking out but this was the only time she could get to see him this close to her, she slowly caressed his falling hair pulling them back which covered his face blocking the clear view of his face.
'I want to have a clear view of him' she pushed his hair back and was lost in her thoughts caressing his hair, she couldn't stop herself from kissing him, and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Zeus helped her get rid of the forced wedding and she kissed him but regretted it that very second, she doesn't know what made her kiss him, but it was true that she kissed him.
"Thank you for saving me, thank goodness he's not awake if not I would have been in big trouble for kissing him"
