39. I Really Love Hunting!
The raiding party walked for a couple of hours. Quietly, they went through the forest. They came across a few groups of Trickster Cats and Saber Wolves. Lance, unfortunately, didn't get to kill many, but he did get objectives and gained 28,000 experience from completing them.
Eventually, they arrived at the cave. There were several patrolling wolves, and the entrance was much bigger than the one Lance had seen before.
The group stayed a couple of dozen meters away and planned their attack. "The front guards will go out first and grab the attention of the wolves, drawing as many out as possible. The rear guards will attack once the major part of the pack shows up." Elandra explained simply. Everyone nodded and readied themselves.
"Where am I?" Lance wasn't assigned to any formation. So naturally, he was curious about what his role would be.
"You stay with me. We are to attack the Alpha and Beta once they show. We will keep them distracted while the main forces clear out the smaller wolves." Elandra was the strongest member of their group. Lance figured her role was to take on the bosses. But it didn't occur to him that he too would be part of distracting the bosses.
Four big men took huge shields off their backs and spears. They went forwards while the rest of the group stayed behind. Once they reached the cave, two of the men started banging the spears on their shields, as the other two attacked the wolves.

Lance's eyes went wide, he couldn't believe the amount of experience he could gain. Plus two bosses, which he could gain even more experience from. Excitement started to form within him. He wasn't sure if he could beat both bosses, so he aimed to deal at least 50% damage to both.
As Lance read the quest details, wolves started flooding out of the cave. The second team of guards ran forward and a bloody mess ensued. The body parts of the wolves flew in every direction. Blood dyed the ground red. And that's when the shit hit the fan.
"Hhhooooooowwwwwllll!"
The Beta called from within the cave as the two bosses made their way out. "It's time! You distract the Alpha, I'll take the Beta." Elandra ordered as she charged forward.
Not gonna miss his chance, Lance summoned his wolf companion and sent it to help Elandra. He hoped the damage did count towards his overall damage. Then he charged at the Alpha. A quick scan showed the Alpha to be Level 17, and the Beta to be Level 21.
'Dash!'
'Hurricane!'
'Hard Hit!'
Lance wanted to take the beast down quickly. He knew how to fight the Alpha effectively. Knocking it to the ground and quickly following up with Hurricane to its weak points. Blood floods the battleground with each gash Lance makes. Pieces of flesh flew from the poor beast's hide in every direction. Lance was unrelenting in his assault.

The first objective completed, Lance quickly scanned the remaining health of the Beta. With Elandra and his wolf. they barely did 10% damage to the beast.
Lance focused harder, He wanted to take this beast out and go after the Beta. He stepped up his game and went all put. Stringing Hurricane after Hurricane. The big boy's health dwindled to nothing.

With the Alpha down, Lance Dashed over to the Beta. His sudden appearance shocked Elandra. She ordered him to distract the Alpha, and she could handle the Beta by herself. She was about to yell at him till she looked over to see the corpse of the Alpha laying lifeless on the ground. "What!?"
Lance started his barrage of attacks against the Beta. He knew this one was gonna be tougher. Not only because it was a higher level, but because his experience told him he had to go all out. Holding back at all will cost him his life and possibly Elandra's
Elandra's surprise caught her off guard. She knew Lance was becoming powerful fast, But she didn't expect him to become so strong, so fast. Even she would take longer to bring down an Alpha alone.
Before Lance arrived, Elandra was only able to take out a quarter of the beast's health. 'Good, I can still have a chance at completing the objectives.' Lance was quite happy, but he didn't let up. Slowly his Stamina was running out from the constant stream of skills. The fur of the beast flew off with every strike, and blood splattered everywhere.

With that one out of the way, he had one final objective to complete. But before he could, the big girl jumped back and let out a loud, echoing howl.
"HHOOOOWWWWLLL!"
Lance knew this was her calling for help. "More wolves are incoming. They will be stronger than the last group." Lance didn't turn from the big beast. He dashed forward and continued his assault.
"You heard him, get ready!" Elandra ordered the group as she got ready herself. Lance had the attention of the Beta, he didn't need her help. So she was gonna keep the new pack from hindering Lance at all costs.
Lance shot out the poor girl's eyes, blinding her, as he charged forward. Without the worry of the packs being called, he could focus everything on the big, bad, boss. Without fail, he used all his Stamina and unleashed every attack he could muster. Stabbing, slashing, and making deep cuts in the flesh of the beast to whittle her health down.
Very quickly, the Beta's health dropped down to nothing. With her out of the way, all that was left was clearing out the remaining wolves.

Lance watched his experience climb to its highest value yet. 'Doing these quests for Elandra is rich with Experience!' Lance became resolute, from this moment on, he would do hunting quests for the guards, and at every chance, he would accept Elandra's missions.
