29. Time To Power Level!

Lance walked around looking for some good firewood. Every time he passed one of the corpses, he would interact with it and collect all their loot. He now had over two hundred claws, over one hundred hides, and fangs. He found a couple more Beta Wolf parts on the corpse of the mother wolf. And had over a dozen bones. Other than finding a clothier, Lance had no idea what he was gonna do with the hides, as for the rest, he thought about going back to Lokarn's workshop and having him make him some more weapons.

As he walked around he decided to level up his class to match his level. Still having over forty thousand experience, He leveled his class up to fifteen. 'No new skill yet. That's ok I guess.' He almost collected enough wood and decided to finish spending his experience before he went back.

He opened his level window and added experience to level up two more times. He didn't have enough to reach level fifteen. Leaving him with just over five thousand experience. He dumped the rest into blacksmith. With all his experience spent, he finishes collecting the wood and heads back.

Sharna was still building the fire pit. She collected all the large stones she could and made a decent size circle. She heard Lance approaching and looks in his direction. "I'm almost done. Just set the wood down."

"You're the boss, little lady!" Lance jested, finding himself to be amusing he let out a little chuckle. Sharna huffed at his comment but he ignored it. He wanted to check his stats out now.

The first thing he noticed was the plus beside his rank. To him, it meant his rank can go up. But he was still at the bottom of the pool right now. He had seventy attribute points and wanted to hold onto them for now. He could make himself immensely strong by spending them, But he wanted to try out the other classes first. He knew from the video games back home that you can't always reset attribute points after you spend them.

'Lance, You're getting a lot stronger. And you're coming up on your first class advancement. At this rate, by the end of the week, you should be able to advance.' Vixen was preparing herself to explain what class advancements are and how they work.

'Ok, we can deal with it when the time comes. For now, we should all get some rest.' Lance's fatigue was gone, but he was tired from sleep. It was a long day and a hard-fought battle. A well-deserved night's sleep will do him some good.

Sharna finished the firepit and it was burning gently into the night, "There, all done." Sharna looked over to Lance. He was laying down with his eyes closed and looked like he fell asleep. "Oh." She hushed herself so she wouldn't wake him. She too felt like it was time to go to sleep, her only problem... The ground was hard and damp, and she didn't know where to sleep. Looking all around the makeshift campsite, she tried to find anywhere that would be more comfortable. Her eyes fell on Lance, "umm".

*

The next morning.

The Suns were shining brightly through the trees. The bright light bugged Lance's eyes, so he raised his arm and covered his eyes from the blinding suns. And that's when he felt pressure on his chest. He looked down and found Sharna cuddled up into him. He laid his head back down and looked into the morning sky. 'Well, this is unexpected.'

Vixen was floating off in Lance's view, sleeping like always. She squinted her eyes and slowly awoke when she felt Lance was awake. Sleepily she sits up and rubs her eyes, "Good morn...." It was then she realized what was going on. "What the hell. Did you sleep with her? Lance!" She yelled out in anger.

Even though Lance didn't do anything wrong, he was being scolded. 'Can you calm the fuck down? Nothing happened, and I just woke up to her like this.'

Sharna felt Lance's movements and started to wake up herself. She was drooling in her sleep and wiped her mouth. Then she felt a soft pillow under her head. But when she opened her eyes, she saw it was Lance's chest. The sight jolted her awake and she jumped up and flew back. "I'm so sorry. I-I-I...."

"Stop, we were asleep. It doesn't matter." Lance shrugged it off and let it go. He didn't think Sharna sleeping on him was a bad thing, more so he understood. The ground was wet from morning dew and rather hard.

Snap!

A twig snapped nearby and Lance leaped to his feet and grabbed his sword. That's when he saw several guards surrounding the pair. And a dark hair woman shaking her head, "If you two need some privacy, we can come back". It was Elandra and a group of guards.

Elandra's group came into the forest, following the signal fire that Sharna sent last night. Normally, they wouldn't send out a search party for the recruits. But a distress call was sent by the couple, and the guards felt the need to provide aid. But when they arrived, the pair were fast asleep. Surrounded by corpses of wolves, and one of a Beta wolf. Seeing the beta surprised all the guards, Elandra included. Even if they did arrive on time, they weren't even sure if they could beat it.

"Shut up. What took you guys so long anyway?" Lance ignored the comment. He was more concerned with them being there now, instead of last night.

"The city is still pretty far newbie, and we can't take vehicles or helicopters. So be thankful we are even here." The same old Elandra. It was refreshing to Lance. But Elandra had a sour look on her face. "I only have one question for you." She looked stern.

"Yeah?" Lance spoke with a questioning tone, he wasn't sure what was gonna happen but he knew he wouldn't like it

Elandra pointed to the corpse of the Beta wolf and asked, "Who killed it?" Her voice came out almost like an order.

Lance looked to where she was pointing. Obviously, he knew who killed the beast, "I did. Did I do something wrong?" He looked back at Elandra.

"No, But I don't believe that you....." She paused for a second while she inspected Lance. He didn't look that different, but she could see he was much stronger than yesterday. "Whatever! Your training is still underway. We will be taking our leave. You two get back to the training ground. After you clean this up!" And with that, she waved to the guards and headed back to the city.

"She's scary." Sharna stayed quiet up until then. She was always scared of the guard captain, but never spoke up.

"You got that right!" Lance laughed, "Can you burn all these corpses?" He was hoping to get the cleanup done and on their way back to the city as quickly as possible.

Sharna looked around, There was quite a bit, and she would have to go up to each one. "Yeah, But what do I get for my trouble?" She teased, she didn't want anything, she just wanted to fluster Lance.

"I'll get you back in one piece." Lance stuck out his tongue at her while he spoke in a teasing way.

"Not fair!" Sharna stomped the ground and walked off towards the corpses, still smiling.
