Chapter 45

The next day Ain appears in Alex's mansion. She has a smile on her face as she walks around like she owns the place. 

She is looking around the mansion when Alex appears behind her. "You know, with you sneaking around my mansion… I could get the wrong idea and attack."

Ain turns around with stars in her eyes. "Wow! Alex, this place is so spacious, can I live here? That way I don't have to pay rent… I am a little low on cash right now."

She shamelessly asks to live here. Alex raises a questioning eyebrow at that. "What? Obviously not."

"C'mon, we are friends, right? At least do this much for me!!" Whines Ain as she shakes Alex by the shoulders. He has a nonchalant look at this as he continues to refute her.

"No way."

"What?!! How could you do this to a comrade of yours?!!"

"We are not comrades."

"I helped you in the airship!"

"Hm? I don't remember that."

"What?!! How can you be so shameless?!!"

"You are the one who is asking to sleep in the same room with me... it's kind of creepy by the way as I am only six years old."

"I didn't ask to sleep in the same room as you!!" Yells Ain with an annoyed look on her face, while Alex still has a nonchalant look on his face. He now took a popsicle out of nowhere and put it in his mouth.

"I dunno, I remember it differently."

*sigh* "You are such a little b*stard."

Alex shrugs at that. "I am not the one asking to sleep with a kid."

Ain gets an enraged look in her eyes, and that is when Lily walks in on this. 

"What is this about sleeping with Alex?" Asks Lily, and she is wearing a black tank top with black hotpants. She was training till she heard Ain and Alex arguing.

"That is just Alex saying nonsense." Explains Ain.

Alex just shrugs at that. "Well, she is the one asking to sleep in my room for 'safety'. Never knew a teen as Ain would be into a kid like me. But I guess with a plain look like hers she doesn't have a lot of options, except manipulating me to hopefully like her very plain looks."

Ain drops on her knees with a depressed aura around her. 

Alex is amused at this. While Lily just shrugs and goes back to train. 'Welp, not my job to care about Alex's love problems.'

She walks away and Alex's smirk widens as he looks at Ain. "You know, it truly is hard to read you. You definitely are someone dangerous."

Ain gets up and nonchalantly looks at the side. *sigh* "Well, I ain't anyone special. Just another plain girl who is hiding many things."

"Hmmm… is that so?" Questions Alex, his smirk widening. He then gets close to Ain, a malicious look adorns his face. "This curiosity is killing me. Maybe I should torture you for some info?"

"Hehehehehe…" Ain snickers at this, not even one trace of fear on her face. "Old man, you could torture me for a decade straight and you wouldn't be able to do anything with your outdated techniques."

"Bahahahaha!" Alex laughs at that loudly, his childish voice echoing through his mansion. "You are a smart woman."

In the end, they both discuss what they will do for this time as they plan to go outside of Magic Academy together.

One hour later and Ain has a backpack on her while Alex and Lily have storage rings on them, each costing millions of gold. 

They walk through the city and reach the outskirts and just walk outside. There is no need to guard the city, nor is there any need for walls. Because as soon as something with negative intentions enters the Headmistress knows, she knows anyone who enters. And if anyone she doesn't want to enter… still somehow enters, then her Rank 4 Magic Items, which are just a bunch of magic robots will attack the person and decimate them. 

There are thousands of those that she has in storage. Even with those, she could beat the rest of Magic City by using them and not having to lift a finger. That is true power, Magic City isn't powerful because it is the highest concentration of high-level creatures, but because of the Headmistress.

Nobody knows what she is after, except that some know that she wants to go through beyond Legendary Rank. Even Alex isn't confident in what she was after, he knows what her plans are, but she never showed what she wanted. Because while back while in-game she had a partnership with Alex, neither of them expressed any of their deep desires towards each other. Because to Alex back in the game... she was just an NPC.

As they walk through a field of grass, Lily looks at Ain and Alex with an annoyed look in her eyes. They both refute using flying magic to help them move around. 

"Lily, you need to learn to enjoy life." Says Alex. "Training every waking moment is not healthy."

Ain nods in approval at that. "Yep, life is for living. One can go mad if they don't do side adventures."

Lily looks at them in annoyance. 'Yeah right… you two are definitely up to something.'

As they walk, they arrive in a forest. As they walk they hear the scream of a girl.

"HELP ME!!! SOMEONE PLEASE!!!" 

Immediately as that scream is heard, Ain and Alex look at each other, while Lily immediately is already dashing towards where she heard the voice.

*sigh* "She is so reckless." Says Alex as countless magic circles appear above him.

After putting those buffs on himself he immediately charges after Lily.

Ain has a strange smirk on her face as she sees that. 'Hmmm… all his spells are perfectly cast. He is quite smart. As expected…'

Lily arrives at a scene of a woman who is pinned to the ground by a burly man wearing armor. She is about to go and help the woman, but a hand on her shoulder stops her from moving anymore.

She turns around and sees Alex who signals her to be quiet. Lily is annoyed at this, and disappointed in him, so she slaps his hand away and is about to go and help the young woman who seems about to be defiled.

<Blood Paralysis>

Her body freezes in its tracks and no matter how hard she tries, she can't move at all. Her eyes widen and her face morphs into one of anger. 

'Alex!!' This enrages her, this is something that she finds unacceptable. 

But what she saw next shocked her.

[Rock Spike]

The defenseless girl was being molested by the burly man. Well, she isn't that defenseless as a rock spike skewers the burly man and pins him on a tree. The young woman gets back up and fixes her clothes, she then gets close to the skewered man and he looks at her with hate. But in his gaze was a trace of fear.

"Y -You bitc-"

Baam!

Another earth spike pierces his head, killing him instantly. 

"Tch, he had nothing too valuable on him." Complains the woman as she takes a pouch full of gold coins from the man. "I knew I should have gone for that Wayne Noble."

Lily is shocked at this while Alex has a smirk on his face, having cast <Invisibility > on both himself and her so they aren't seen by the girl. He just didn't want to get involved in the situation. 

"Next time think before you act, how could a Mage be so defenseless that she can't beat a man with his pants down." Reprimands Alex, making sure to convey the truth to Lily. Even a Rank 1 Mage can stop a Rank 4 Warrior from defiling her. After all, with his weak point exposed… just a spike in the genitals will be enough to bring down the toughest of men.

The young woman was clearly in her twenties, so Alex could see what was going on here. She was using some dumbass who thought it was a smart thing to do something like this to someone who has survived the Magic City for so long.

Lily is shocked at this, but she calms down and nods. Feeling embarrassed for having assumed such a stupid thing, once she thought about it, she couldn't help but blush at how silly she must have seemed to Alex.

"Is everything okay?" Says Ain as she just arrives at the scene. She sees the man skewered with an earth spike on the tree and tilts her head curiously. "Oh, so it was just another honey pot trap. A lot of young men have been dying from these lately. There are even rumors of there being an underground Honey Pot Guild. Can you believe that?"

Alex smirks at that slightly, many players joined that secret guild. It was mostly male players with female game characters wanting to mess around in the beginning. 

But it turned into a genuinely good business, after all if one can find an arrogant noble and lure him into a Honey Trap, you are pretty much set for life. Plus if you are extra lucky the Noble might even have an artifact, which isn't that rare amongst nobles.

"Anyway, let's get on with our journey." Says Alex nonchalantly.

A/N: We see that if someone survives in a cruel place, even a pretty girl, she won't be just some damsel in distress. She will use her womanly charms calculatingly against any man...
