Chapter 44

<Three Dimensional Slash>

Alex's eyes widened in surprise. 'This is Nobunaga's signature move, the unlockable Dimensional Slash. Though at his peak he has around 108 Dimensional Slashes at the same time.'

He is impressed that Nobunaga already knows a sword move that is considered something unbeatable below heaven.

Still, once Alex sees the person behind Nobunaga... all his movements stop and the useless thoughts in his head go away. It was Headmistress Julie...

She has a casual smile on her face, as she sees the three simultaneous slashes heading towards her. Two towards her neck, and one for her head.

But as the unstoppable slashes go towards her throat Julie uses her thumb and middle finger to casually grab Nobunaga's katana blade just as it is about to touch her throat.

Clang!

Also the other two slashes dissipate into thin air, as if they didn't exist to begin with.

"A very good slash Nobunaga." Compliments Julie, even as she as a mage stopped a warrior's slash easily with her physical body.

Nobunaga also is dissatisfied with this, he is at the peak of Rank 4 and almost at Legendary Rank. He never thought that a Mage of Legendary Rank would be able to stop his slash who was infused with all his Ki.

"Thank… thank you, Headmistress." Says Nobunaga respectfully.

But on the inside he felt a little bitter, he always thought that with this move he would be able to get closer to that person who is thought to be able to fight with Legendary Ranks even for not being in the Legendary Stage himself… another Hero...

Julie notices Nobunaga and guesses his thoughts easily. "Don't worry, Bright is a whole different thing so don't try to compare yourself to him."

After patting him on the shoulder, Julie walks past him as she looks at Alex. Who has a casual smile on his face, having already calmed his heart.

He bows slightly. "Hello Headmistress, nice meeting you."

"Oh? So this is the first time we met?" Wonders Julie, as if oblivious to any of this. "I had the impression that we had met before?"

Alex's body gains a chill at this. His mind working in overdrive at what the Headmistress could mean by that. He is sure that he hasn't met her during this life, but immediately he comes to his conclusion.

He has always been trying to sell himself as a reborn person from the past. That way some of his knowledge where he might slip up will seem logical.

'She must have determined that we knew each other in the past.' Contemplates Alex. All of his thoughts settle themselves within a split second so in the end he answers her.

"Really? I don't think I have ever met you in this life?" Wonders Alex, intentionally displaying wisdom above his age.

He is a reborn person, he is willing to let the Headmistress make that assumption. After all, already the Magic Academy has three people who are Reborn and all of them are Heroes.

People in this world have the chance to be reborn by using the Rebirth Token that the players could use to respawn. It worked differently for other people, so Alex understood that many things in this world are to his advantage. Because while Rebirth Tokens are considered something of Ancient Legend, he knows where over a dozen of them are hidden.

Julie smiles at this slightly, not showing at all what she is thinking on the outside. 'His intelligence is way over his age. After all, no matter how smart, a normal six year old would need to learn something to use his knowledge.'

"Anyway, Headmistress, did you need me for something?" Asks Alex, showing a nervous look on the outside. The Headmistress sees through it easily.

"No… not personally." Says the Headmistress. In the end, it seemed like she got what she wanted and started walking out. "Alex, I will meet you later when you reach Legend Rank or after the age of twenty. You have talent so don't become lazy… Also I will kill you if you aren't Legendary Rank before age twenty."

Alex just looks at the back of the woman who walks off casually and disappears in a mist. He doesn't care about the deadline, he knows that he can meet it even if he didn't have the gamer interface.

'I need to start getting control of the situation.' Thinks Alex, a little annoyed at the things being out of control. But he immediately calms down. 'Anger needlessly clouds one's judgment.'

After calming, he thinks up his problems. He knows that as long as he stays in Magic Academy he won't be able to escape the Headmistress' clutches, so he must go on his own little adventures. Plus as a peak Rank 3 Mage, he is a force to be reckoned with already… in the normal world, as in the Magic Academy his strength isn't anything special.

Alex clenches his hand and looks at Nobunaga. His gaze analyzes the swordsman's body, getting a general look into his physical statistics.

"Hmmm… Nobunaga… I heard that you were reincarnated, is that true?" Asks Alex suddenly. He knows the background of Nobunaga already.

Lily, who has been staying by the side looks at this in surprise. After all, no matter how amazing this world is, outside of religion, reincarnation is something outrageous.

But she knows that Alex isn't someone who plays around with fairy tales, he deals with facts.

The man smiles at the young six-year-old child in front of him. He… once known as the Great Unifier. As Nobunaga thinks of this, his eyes turn misty, his mind going back to his first life.

He held on to his dreams of his first childhood, and even almost succeeded in his goals. But now all that doesn't matter anymore, he isn't in Japan, he is in a mysterious world that he has no idea of.

When he was born he spent his childhood training the sword and trying to return back to Japan, even in a new life… his ambition still lived.

But he came to understand that this was a whole other world now. So he decided to start a new life, with new ambitions. Even though he was stubborn in the beginning, he decided to get a new goal… even if it isn't as grand as the one in his first life, he still finds it important. He now has people that he needs to protect.

Nobunaga looks at Alex and his eyes narrow. 'This kid… could he also be…'

In the end he just shakes his head and his body flashes. Lily who also has a warrior class can't react as his flashes past and goes towards the door.

"Alex… I came here to warn you not to pick a fight with any of my men. But that seems to be unnecessary, you are not a child who needs to be reminded of that." Says Nobunaga casually as he starts walking away.

Alex smirks at this. He now knows why Nobunaga hunted down the players. They most likely killed his subordinates or someone he loves so he understood that all the players were somehow connected so he started hunting them down.

'I should keep a good relationship with someone like him.' Calculates Alex, if he learned one thing today is that Nobunaga is no longer the warrior shogun. He seemed almost tired of fighting. 'Well, it doesn't matter now.'

He had no intention to fight Nobunaga or kill the man's subordinates. There is no benefit to him from that.

….

As Alex settles down in his mansion and picks up a room, having Lily pick the one next to him. Just in case one of them comes under attack.

Lily is laying down on her bed looking at her hand. Memories of her counter with Nobunaga appears in her head. She felt it, Nobunaga could have decapitated her before she could even react.

It wasn't just a simple gap in strength, it felt like trying to touch the sky. Especially with his attack against the Headmistress… it was a sword attack that went against logic itself.

'But the Headmistress easily stopped it all the same.' Contemplates Lily. 'This world… it's so big, so many strong people. I wonder where I will fit in all that.'

Her mind then goes to another guy that she knows.

'What about him? I bet that he will be monstrous in the future. His strength isn't what makes him scary, it's his mindset. It almost feels like seeing a fledgling Headmistress.' Lily could see the way that the Headmistress acted was similar to Alex during similar situations. 'He will be strong in the future. How will I be compared to him?'

...

Alex at the same time in his room and has three metal puppets in front of him. They all have the same butler suits on.

This is a Magical Item, one that is programmed for cleaning. They have no facial features because Alex thought that it would be a waste of time to build that on them

==============

A/N: We see a reborn person from another world for the first time. And befitting a reborn person, Nobunaga, who is only in his 20s is already close to Legendary Rank.

Also he has a move which can kill Legendary Ranks if taken by surprise… don't count the Headmistress as normal, she is anything but, even amongst the Legendary Ranks.

....

Don't forget to throw some power stones :)
