4 Chapter 4

Turning around, I came face to face with an ugly monster that looked like a human got in a fight with an axe...

Its face had multiple gashes, one of its eyes was popped and oozing blood and puss...

Dried blood covered its face and body and it walked sluggishly as it let out a growl that made me shiver.

Suddenly the sluggish creature just walking along the road froze before slowly shifting its vision towards me.

Once it saw me I freaked out as I watched the creature began to growl and begin to sluggishly speed walk towards me.

Calming myself I found that the slow-moving creature was only feet away from grabbing me.

Without even thinking, I rose the M4A1 and pointed it at the creature before me, and pulled the trigger.

A loud bang echoed out through the area as a bullet penetrated the creature's chest.

I was shocked to see the thing keep moving!

"What is this thing?!" I shouted out in surprise before shooting it a couple more times in the chest just for it to keep moving!

But, once I shot it in the head, I found that it finally dropped dead before collapsing into dust, leaving nothing behind but a simple combat knife and some ammo.

Suddenly in the corner of my vision, I noticed something that I didn't see before.

[IAmTheFr33 killed a zombie]

[Mat killed Kate]

[John killed a zombie]

[A Zombie killed Rebecca]

More and more similar notifications seemed to appear in that corner every second.

...

Meanwhile sitting within the work office.

[A/N: Note that I will call the MCs workplace many things, Workshop, Work Office, and etc]

As I was reading through the Grimoire, I momentarily glanced towards the screen and was surprised to find that a match has already started!

Putting the book down, I looked over to the screen before clicking the spectate button for the first time.

Suddenly I found myself hovering over the city in the ongoing game and found that I could see an outline as well as a Tag along with some additional information.

Almost all of the tags that I could currently see were labeled with simple 1-word names which represented the AI's.

Then there was an unusual tag that must have definitely been a player.

[IAmTheFr33

Type: Player(Earth, Human)

Gender: Male

Real Identity: Kyle Freemen(Him and Morgan Freeman are not related and their last names ARE different)

Kills: 1 Zombie

Equipment: Normal Clothes, Level 1 Ballistic Vest, Level 1 M4A1, 89 Assualt Rifle Ammo, and a Combat Knife

Chance of Winning: 0.3%]

Oh? it actually shows this much information?

All of this info seemed to appear once I focused on the particular player.

He seemed to be adjusting to the game quite well...

I watched as the player made his way through Uptown which was filled with high positions and had many good spots for Marksmen and Snipers to hide and ambush the other participants.

By the time 15 minutes passed in the Match, only 46 of the 67 participants remained.

The player who I have been spectating all this time has moved from Uptown to Downtown and he has even managed to kill two other participants.

Which, considering that every participant including the NPCs basically has no experience in this game and is just noobs...for now.

I also noticed that the player's info has been constantly changing with every minute.

Type: Player(Earth, Human)

Gender: Male

Real Identity: Kyle Freemen(Him and Morgan Freeman are not related and their last names ARE different)

Kills: 1 Zombie

Equipment: Normal Clothes, Level 3 Ballistic Vest, Level 3 Ballistic Helmet, Level 2 M4A1, 142 Assualt Rifle Ammo, a Combat Knife, Kar98k, and 13 Heavy Rifle(Sniper ammo basically) Rounds

Chance of Winning: 9.8%]

With every participant's death, his chances of winning increased.

I was surprised that his chances were already almost 10% when there were still so many participants left in the game.

The 'Storm' which is just basically the red fog from Fallout was also closing in on the map and much of the area has already been consumed by the red fog.

Due to the fog, more and more encounters between the Participants were happening and now that 45 minutes have passed, less than 20 Participants remained, including the player.

I wonder how he will fare against the others who are just as well equipped as him.

His chances have come so high as 25% and it only continued to rise as more and more of his competitors were eliminated from the game.

Soon enough, by the time an hour passed since the beginning of the game, the red fog was small enough to where most of the participants could take each other out if they lacked cover.

Now then, it's time for the final showdown, who will win?

The Noob Player who seems to have beginner's luck?

Or one of the NPCs?
