Chapter 13

[A/N: it's my first time using 3rd Person POV]

Following the woman, she led Kain to an empty ring and began explaining the rules to Kain.

From what Kain learned from her he found that these were deathmatches and that he could use anything he wished so long as it would not harm the Spectators watching the match.

Kain would earn $10k-$15k US dollars from every match which was a hefty sum, especially to Kain since he was pretty much broke at this point in time.

Soon finding himself standing in one of the fighting rings, Kain heard the announcer for the match begin speaking.

"Today we have a newcomer folks! Please give your welcomes to the Mutant, Blank!"

"And facing Blank is a mutant you all know and love! Pyro!"

Loud cheering came from the crowd as a red-haired man walked into the arena wearing only pants.

'Pyro? He uses flames?' Kain thought with a raised brow as he examined his opponent.

"The match begins in 5!

4!

3!

2!

1!

Let the best mutant win!" Screamed the announcer as Pyro's body suddenly burst into flames and charged at Kain.

Suddenly raising his hand, Kain chanted spells in a foreign language at a fast speed.

"Flame Resistance."

"Lesser Dexterity."

"Lesser Strength."

"Lesser Haste."

"Lesser Reinforce Armor."

Flashes of light covered Kain's body as strange effects seemed to visually happen to Kain's body before he timely dodged the incoming fist of his opponent, Pyro.

But just as he dodged his fist, Pyro amped up the flames covering his body, engulfing Kain.

Pyro smiled victoriously but froze when he heard the strange foreign language once again...

"Magic Arrow."

"Magic Arrow."

"Magic Arrow."

Suddenly a dozen floating arrows of light appeared hovering over the completely unharmed Kain who gave off an intimidating smile.

And with a wave of his hand, all of the floating arrows flew towards Pyro at a blazing fast speed before turning the Mutant Pyromaniac into a Pincushion.

Everyone watched with wide eyes as Pyro fell to the ground, dead.

"Give it to our winner, Blank!"

Cheers came from the crowd as some seemed happy while others seemed pissed off due to losing their money from their bets.

Kain was then pulled away from the ring and given his winning money and informed that he was now ranked E and now he had the right to challenge those of his rank or a rank higher.

[A/N: It follows the basic F->S letter ranking]

Kain then spent the next couple hours watching the various rings before taking on a few more matches during the night every time his Mana was replenished.

By the next morning, Kain was ranked C and earned over half a million US dollars from this underground fighting ring through betting and deathmatches.

But with the sun rising, the organization hosting this underground fighting ring started packing up and moving places and everyone was forced to leave.

Now that Kain's monetary goal was completed, he bought a plane ticket to China.

...

Soon landing in China, Kain then bought a cheap rental vehicle and began driving to the only place he remembered that had a portal to Ta Lo.

The only problem with this particular portal was the fact that it had a strange magical bamboo forest guarding its entrance.

Hopefully, Kain's Mana would last until he reached the gate t Ta Lo.

A day later Kain reached the edge of the bamboo forest where he knew the entrance to Ta Lo lied.

Erecting a Magical Barrier around himself, Kain looked at the bamboo forest before him and prayed that his barrier could hold against this strange magical forest.

Taking a deep breath, Kain stepped into the bamboo forest and began walking in a straight line towards the forest's center.

Kain let out a breath of relief when he found that the forest did not try to crush him to death and soon reached the grove in which the portal lied.

Thankfully there was no guardian currently protecting said grove, so once Kain walked through the waterfall he soon found himself in a large tunnel which led to a place that could only be described as a world of fantasy.

In the distance, one could see a herd of Dragon Horses, families of Nine-Tailed Foxes, and more.

But what really caught the attention of Kain, was the dense mana that was dozens, if not hundreds, of times thicker than the Mana on Earth.

With a smile, Kain decided to spend some time here, well at least until Tony Stark gets kidnapped at least.
