A day of peace...

In that class with Mrs Palmer, Matt discovered that, like himself, most of his classmates hated biology. The young man, although he had been interested in it as a child, eventually found that studying biology is not suitable for much.

'Most living things have no logic at all.' Matt thought as he followed the rest of the class through the hallways, in the company of Miles, Gank Lee and Kate.

The reality is that life in the universe adapts to any environment, and the climate changes because of life. What differentiates someone powerful from someone weak, most of the time, is not just biology, but instead... your genes can determine whether you will be strong, as was the case with Thanos. However, Matt found this whole theory very dull.

"Kitty's voice is so high-pitched it gave me a headache." Said Gank Lee as he massaged his temples.

Miles looked at him and spoke with a smile, "You don't have to pretend you don't think she's pretty."

"W-what? I don't like her." The Asian man spoke as he looked away and pouted.

"Then why were you the only one who enjoyed listening to her speech about chromosomes?" Kate teased him.

"Ah! I was paying attention to Mrs. Palmer, actually."

"Urghhh, man! She must be, I don't know.... Sixty years old?"

"Fifty-one only." The inexpressive Xandarian said.

Gank, Kate and even Miles were surprised. How would he know something like that? The woman already had a lot of grey hair, and yes, she wasn't all up, but no one would risk saying she was under fifty-five.

"How do you know?" Kate dared to question him.

"I analyzed her biological markers..." He replied, still serious; however, seconds later, he realized how strange what he was saying might sound. "I mean, I analyzed her facial expression lines. You know, she has crow's feet."

Gank Lee pondered and remembered that she did have crow's feet next to her eyes.

But Kate and Miles were still confused and asked together, "Crow's feet?"

When Gank explained that they were the old age marks beside her eyes, Miles wished he could try using the language translator that Matt used because it translated even things like that, which was terrific.

Since the second class of the first period would be Physical Education, Scott Summers went to the professor's office to find out if the type would be in the classroom or outside.

Matt found this guy with the dark glasses strange, he couldn't tell how, but he felt that there was something wrong with him as if the tall guy was hiding something.

As everyone waited for Scott's return at the front of the room, Matt saw the girl with white bangs coming towards him, and when he looked away, all three of his classmates he was talking to walked away silently.

"Hi..." She said as she came close.

"Hi."

...

"My name is Anne."

"I'm Matt."

"Yeah I know, the teacher said."

...

"So, are you enjoying your first day of school?"

"Oh, not much has happened so far. Is it always like this?"

"Yes it is, most of the time it's boring."

...

"I'm going back to my friends, I'll talk to you later." Matt said.

"Ah... that's fine. Go ahead."

The Xandarian felt as if he had no right to breathe when he was around Anne. So he could barely talk or think because his body used all the oxygen that he lived in those seconds to keep beating his heart faster and faster.

"Are you dumb? What have you done?" said Miles, nonconformist. But the blush on Matt's face answered his questioning.

Kate looked with interest at Matt while thinking that that reaction was even cuter than when she teased Miles.

As he watched Anne walk back to her big-haired friend, Matt regretted not having talked to the girl more, but he was also in an internal conflict because no one had ever attracted him that much.

'Even the mermaids of Aquion didn't tempt me this much, how is an earthling doing this to me?' Matt even considered the possibility that this was some psychic power, but he knew he would feel it if that was the case.

"Everyone, gather around here. The teacher said that class will be on the field today. Go to the locker rooms and change." Scott said as he returned.

"Okay." Everyone answered in unison.

Since the school didn't have enough space for everyone to have lockers in the locker rooms, the students had the option of leaving their uniforms at home or in the lockers in the hallways. This was a good way for the girls to find which boys were clean and which were sloppy because the lockers smelled as destructive as a stink bomb when opened.
