Boss' orders.

Much to Leo and Marcus' desperate plea for Esme to remain home for the evening, she couldn't sit around waiting for her mate. And that was how two werewolves, a vampire hunter and two humans, ended up at 'Freddies' chilling in a booth eating nachos, drinking and catching up. It was exactly what she needed. Hana had been watching the she-wolf all night, and although she was usually good at keeping the emotions from her face, it was apparently too hard tonight.

Initially, Esme had been excited by the idea that she would be free from her tormenting past, but she was not stupid enough to keep a hold of that little slither of hope. In the past, hope was pointless and had taught her to remain alert and uncomfortable until the very end, and that was exactly what she was doing.
