7 Golden Cadet Academy

Bai Li came rushing out of the train with a small rolled up paper.

This was his acceptance letter as an Elite Student at the Golden Cadet Academy that resided in the Soul Realm here in Golden Desert Planet. A sign of prestige as one of the top Hundred Public Planet Academies in the entire Union.

'Although it has one of the highest acceptance rates in students, its elite program provides enough incentive since it has one of the highest resources given to students.'

Many great talents arose from the Golden Cadet Academy, since those whose talents flourished would in turn provide their fame and sponsorship to the academy.

Students from other planets would die for an acceptance letter for an exchange student.

He couldn't hold in his excitement as he jumped high in the air from the top of the stairs. But this was only the beginning of his journey. He would need more than resources to achieve what he wanted to achieve.

He reached the end of the stairs to his apartment building to knock on his neighbor's door.

The door opened a few seconds later with the neighbor blew a party popper at him.

The confetti landed all over Bai Li and both shared a hearty hug.

"Congratulations Bai Li! Oh, it's been so long since I've seen you grow."

"Aha! Thank you, if it weren't for your home-cooked meals, how would I have grown so strong!"

He lifted her up with his strength and slightly tossed her up in the air in this joyous occasion.

They booth took their seat to eat the food she prepared.

It was full of celebratory foods like whole roasted chicken, and hot pot.

The smell of ginger and chili oil wafted him towards the boiling pot of melted spices and peppercorns.

Large lotus root slices, mushrooms and pork bones filled the pot, along with the thin slices of pork on the side for dipping.

This was already so much food but he had to dig in, the exam did a number on his body and his appetite was dying to dig in.

The night was spent in utter bliss, granny even pulled a

The Golden Cadet Academy is the planet owned standard academy usually taken for those who graduate.

Each planet had its own variant and take on the standard, some planet-owned academies had different standards as well compared to others. The acceptance rate of the academy is high compared to others but the resources given to the top student was one of the top for their resources and how the governing family had developed the planetary estate to its fullest.

Many people wished to be exchanged here for the resources but being from another planet made it very hard and the exchange programs had tight requirements to do so.

Bai Li had returned back home and opened his mini-fridge. He pulled out a few tupperware filled with some side dishes and rice. He microwaved the tupperware and began eating.

His neighbor, an old grandma who he calls Granny was always giving him leftovers from her food. She was used to having mouths to feed but after a devastating accident, she didn't have anyone. Bai Li held his hand out for her and was in place, like a grandmother to Bai Li.

Family from his memory was strange to Bai Li, he didn't have any memories from his childhood at all.

He woke up from a slumber that made his head ache when he awoken, an emotionless reunion from his step parents were all he was up for. He was only 6 when he woke up from his slumber and only 7 when they left. They lived in a rather luscious manor with a pond and an orchard present. Nobody disturbed his peace whenever he was there, he was left alone, with his step parent's library filled with odd books. With his frail body, he wouldn't move around much other than to moving from his room, to the garden, or the library.

The personal library was filled with the strange books and he loved it in there, sometimes sleeping on the bench present inside. But one day, his step parents left without saying a word. He didn't mind it though and kept on reading.

Until law enforcement came inside the manor and said that the taxes and bills weren't being paid. Due to what little relations he had with his step parents, he didn't have to fork up the bill but was unable to live at the manor.

The mystery of his life there was strange and he wished to take on the manor as his home once more, but the price was astronomical. Everything about the manor where he once lived was strange.

Abiding by the laws of the government and planet, nobody could even buy the manor at their wealth, the governing family included.

He received a small allowance to live in the apartment where he still lives today.

His time there wasn't all that memorable, but with what little had, it was precious.

He was eating lunch and at night he would be able to go to the Granny's room to eat dinner with her over there. But due to some issues with his part-time job, he would sometimes not be able to come.

He received the letter of his enrollment at the GCA as an Elitist Course Student.

In about months time, their cards were given the access to the Soul Realm into the school.

The Elitist course was usually given to all the students who passed both the fitness test as well as the written portion. If one passed only the fitness, which is rather easy, they would be given the cadet course, where they would be able to gain access to many training equipment but had mandatory classes that must be taken, with no choices. If it were the other way around, they would take the officer course, where they could take on multiple courses and had mandatory training. Those with goals in their mind and stook with them as being someone who surpasses in strength or mind in the Union needed those.

But it is necessary to have both knowledge as well as fitness as they both can't be neglected.

Elitist had both opportunities of their courses and trainings with no binds on their time. Resources are given as well as access to higher grade training equipment. But in the end, once graduating, everyone would receive one soul crystal to intake. This would increase his power and the whole entire goal was to get as much fitness and knowledge before intaking the crystal, which increases in power with one's body.

He ate with the granny before bidding farewell, her kind manner held much of a motherly aura around her. Bai Li promised he would repay her for her kindness to Bai Li and how she acted in replacement as family.

After showing her his enrollment paper, she shed tears for someone who didn't have a connection to her family. She was truly happy but sad that Bai Li was going to leave her.

The month was used to prepare everyone to enter the Soul Realm, where fluctuation of space energy would usually disrupt their mind and causing a nauseous state. It was good to have a clear and resolved mind when entering if one didn't want to vomit.

The month was used to have time with their parents as well, in which Bai Li spent with Granny.

Her body was becoming frail, if she were given the chance to see his graduation before, she would've took it. But after several times trying to persuade her, she was fine watching the live stream of the graduation. And right after that, she took her sleeping medicine so he didn't disturb her when he got home.

The month goes by and now everyone was ready, all the students had nothing in their possession except a few designated pampered children who their parents bought equipment that was transferrable to the other side.

Granny came along as well as it would be there final goodbye, and she was also very adamant coming along. Bai Li walked along to the cybertrain along with the nurse who cared for her with all the proper equipment if there were to be an emergency.

"Take care of yourself Bai Li."

They both arrived at the Warp Tunnel, a device managed by the Union and with strict regulations possessing one. With a change of some coordinates and a proper signal, they could go anywhere accessible in the Soul Realm, though they had no reason to, laws about such is also very strict on these matters unless if absolutely necessary like if the Soul Realm somehow overtook the planet.

The distortion near the tunnel had small chains of lightning spew out every now and then.

"Thank you Granny."

She shed a tear and gave him a hearty hug.

Bai LI didn't know how to react or to feel, but he felt an anchor was pushing him down to express his sadness. But nontheless.

He held a sincere smile, mustering all the emotions he had.

"See you soon."

Both set their paths elsewhere as he set his first step into the disproportionate tunnel.

Dissipating as he went further and into the new world.
